If Regina was being honest she knew that she couldn't stop Brad from painting anything because as soon as she left this apartment, it was his. As soon as she handed over the last key, which Mike had, there was no reason for her to worry about what happened here. But she did worry. This place had been her home for a very long time. So many things have happened here and it was memories that she wanted to keep with her. But really if he wanted to paint it dark blue then he could. "I'll come back and paint it pink myself" she nodded once and then grabbed some more stuff to put in the boxes. She handed them over and then came to the last one. Once this box was filled then it would be all over. She had to promise herself not too cry because if she did that then she was screwed. Regina bit down on her lip and continued to fill this last box. There was nothing in the bathroom or bedroom so really this was the very last bit of her stuff. It was sad to think that once the door was shut she really wasn't going to be back in this little apartment with all its pinkness and memories.
Mike looked up when he hears Mindy's voice. "Trust me I have never known anyone to have this much stuff. My last girlfriend never had this much" he huffed out and then took the box and put it in the back. He knew that it must be coming to an end. He was sure it damn well had to be. It was like a never ending pile of stuff. Mike stood up after putting the box in and looked at Mindy once more. "Well it'll go into storage at my parents house and when Regina comes back for a few days then she will be able to sort it out" he then huffed out a laugh. "Trust me everything Regina owns is girly, too pink for me" he teased before putting his hands into the pockets of his jeans once more. It was interesting because they were so different from each other. Regina had been the girly girl. So much pink and make up and Mike had been all black and punk and for a while everyone asked how they could be twins but be so different. He had just said it was down to different tastes, which it was, and left it at that.

Once the boxes were set aside ready to be brought to the car, with the exception of the one she currently was working on, Brad couldn't help but to look around at the empty apartment. It was weird, it was still physically her apartment, but it felt so different being in there. He knew that he'd still have the place, but no matter what color he painted the walls or how he decorated the place, it'll still feel like it was her place. He wasn't so sure how he felt about that, having the constant reminder of her everyday just by being in here and knowing that she was across the country. It wasn't like he could change his mind now. He signed for it and if he didn't take the place he'd be homeless unless he moved back in with his parents which wasn't going to happen. Mindy already had a roommate, Brandon's place was too small for two people, and the place he lived at before was shared between him and Alison and he was almost a hundred percent sure that would be an even worse idea. Maybe he was just over thinking it and everything was going to be okay. He leaned against the wall, watching her as she packed up the last of the box. She was concentrated on packing the box and probably didn't even notice him watching but he couldn't help but to watch her. It was silent for the moment while she was packing and he stood there with her watching her, until he spoke again, "promise that you won't turn into one of those New Yorkers and promise me that you'll go back there and kick some ass," he said with a small smile. He's heard about people over there and he knew Regina would stand out. Sucks that he wouldn't be there by her side but that's how life is sometimes.
Mindy shrugged her shoulders and pretended to contemplate, "I don't know...I think you'd look adorable in pink," she teased. Hey some people could actually pull it off, not so much Mike though since he didn't seem like the type for bright colors or anything like that. She helped him with the last of the few boxes that Brad had set out for them while they were moving boxes to pack into the car, meanwhile she left the heavier boxes for Mike while she attempted to fit another box into the car. How Mike was able to fit all these boxes in the car was beyond her. Everything inside fit so perfectly in his car. She looked back at the building before looking at Mike, "maybe we should stay out here and let them say their goodbyes," she said, frowning slightly at that thought. Hopefully they won't jump at each other again and take all the time in the world. She was sure they weren't going to this time however since Brad and Regina were both aware that their siblings were right outside this time. She shrugged off his jacket and smiled at him before handing it back to him, "thank you for keeping me warm," she said to him. She would have been freezing outside since it was getting a bit later and the temperature was slightly dropping a little bit. "It might smell like me so I hope you don't mind a little bit of floral perfume scent," she gave him an apologetic smile.

Reginas heart was pounding in her chest she was sure that she was going to end up crying but the last thing he wanted to see was her tears. No she had to be strong and walk out that door. It felt like last time all over again but if she was honest back then she had been crying because of the fact that she had walked out after an argument, this time she would be leaving after their make out session. Regina pulled her lip in between her teeth and then looked up when he spoke. She had to hand it to him, if her heart was breaking then was his too? She was sure that she could see something on his face but Regina didn't want to look so closely. She put the last item in the box and then looked at him once more. Regina moved away from her spot and over to where he was before putting her hand against his cheek. "I promise" she said softly and then leaned up and put her lips to his. This was so much different from last time but this was the better end to their relationship. "I love you" she whispered after pulling away from his lips.
Mike was happy to see that they were down to the last box but sad because this would be the last time Brad and Regina would be together. He watched them and then headed back out with the heavy boxes and loaded them into the car. His car must be like the TARDIS it was definitely bigger on the inside to fit all of this in. "Probably best" he said about letting Brad and Regina having a moment to themselves. Unless Regina came back for some big thing this literally was the last time they would be in the same room as each other. His thoughts were then broken when Mindy spoke to him and he had to concentrate to hear what she said and only realised that she was on about his jacket when she was handing it back. He gave a warm smile "I'm sure I can handle the scent" he admitted and took the jacket before putting it on the drivers seat.

Brad had to be honest, this was killing him. Every little item she put in the box only pained him even more. Then finally, she placed the last piece of her things into the box and closed it up. That was it. He'd been looking down at the ground when he felt her put her hand on his cheek before kissing him. He slipped his arms around her waist and kissed her back before hearing the words that basically put a dagger through him. The way he felt about her...he knew that wasn't going to disappear for a long time. No matter how hard he tried, she was always going to have a place in his heart. "I love you too," he said softly, leaning in and kissing her again, and he probably always will. He let out a long breath as he stared at her as if it would be the last time he would, so that he could remember her face. Then that's when he pulled her into him for the biggest hug, wrapping his arm tightly around her waist like he didn't plan on letting go. "Try not to miss me too much," he teased, trying desperately to make this be okay when it really wasn't. He kissed the top of her head as he held her close to him, not wanting to let her go right now. Life really had a way of being cruel and it was being really cruel to them right now.
Mindy ran her hand through her hair as she looked back at the apartment. She was feeling a bit sad for her brother and Regina. It was obvious that they still loved each other and had their reasons for not being together but it still sucked to see two people who are obviously meant to be together, not be together. She didn't know why they couldn't understand that they just needed to be together! She wished there was something that she could scheme but her brother was smart and would find out that she was up to something. She just hoped that if she ever got in a relationship, she would never have to make this type of decision. There was no way she would be able to choose. She didn't want to think about that right now, it was too sad to even process. "Oh I almost forgot," she said as she pulled a pen out of her bag, "I'm sure you could probably find it somehow, but," she grabbed his hand and flipped his hand over before writing her number in his hand, "here's my number, you know, for the surf lessons whenever you're ready for it," she smiled. She put her pen back in her bag and leaned against his car as she waited for Brad to come out. At least something good came out from the day, she made a new friend.

Regina was so close to saying that she would stay. Her heart was aching more than anything and she wanted to stay but she had her job in New York. She was happy there and this was her dream job but she knew that she would have to say goodbye to him at some point. He said that he loved her too and pulled her in for a hug which she happily accepted, she put her head against his chest and closed her eyes, biting on her lip to stop it from shaking. Her heart was pounding hard in her chest and she wanted nothing more than to just stay with him but if she did then she would never follow her dream job and she would be here for the rest of her life and feeling bitter over it because she didn't leave. So she had to go now. He kissed the top of her head and she sniffed, it was an automatic reaction when she was crying. She put her arms around him and hugged him a little tighter. Regina loved him, there was no doubt about it. But she never thought it would be this hard to leave again.
Mike looked over when Mindy spoke to him and then raised an eyebrow when she said about giving him her number and she took the paper before looking down at it. "Well that was easy" he huffed out, clearly joking. He smiled softly and then nodded. "I will give you a call when I'm ready" he admitted and then put her number into the back pocket of his jeans. He wasn't sure when it would actually be but he was sure it would be soon. Mike wanted to concentrate on his sister while she was here and then once she had settled back into New York then he would definitely start up the lessons. He hoped that she will enjoy them as he's never taught anyone outside of family. So this was going to be interesting. Mike leaned back against his car before crossing his arms over his chest. "Your brother isn't going to kill me when he finds out, right?" he raised his eyebrow and looked over at her. "I mean that is the last thing I need" he shook his head before letting a grin pull at his lips.

Brad was so close to asking her to stay, to try and make this work. He wanted to ask her to stay with him, to try this again. But he knew he couldn't. He couldn't do that to her or to himself. That would be selfish of I'm to do and he knew that if she stayed, she would resent him and he knew that she would be unhappy staying here. That's why she left in the first place. No matter how much he loved her, he couldn't ask her to stay. So he stayed quiet, and held onto her for as long as he could knowing that their time together would end the moment they walked through the door. It sucked, really sucked knowing how much they deeply cared about each other but they weren't going to be together. He heard her sniff and that only pained him even more. Brad slowly pulled away to look at her, he knew they couldn't stay in here forever. She had to go. Brad kissed her again one last time on the lips softly. "We should go," he said softly, taking her hand in his. He looked around at the empty apartment, it was going to be weird being here. As empty as it was, he was always going to remember her. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to stay here, but it was too late now. He let out a long sigh before walking out of the apartment and out to where Mindy and Brandon were.
Mindy rolled her eyes and laughed when he said that it was easy getting her number. "Hey now, don't make me take it back," she joked as she slipped her hands into her back pocket. When he asked her about Brad, she laughed and shook her head. Normally she would tell any other guy that her brother was extremely protective of her but Mike and Brad were friends so she assumed he knew how Brad was. "Maybe just a little bit," she joked before shaking her head, "As long as you're nothing like my ex, I think you'll be in the clear," she told him. Brad hated her ex-boyfriend, from the moment they met each other from the day the two of them ended things. Sure Brad tolerated the guy because it was her boyfriend, but if it came down to it, Brad would have kicked his ass the day he met him if he knew how it would end. Brandon on the other hand probably was in an awkward situation, since her ex was one of Brandon's friends. But ultimately Brandon had punched him in the face after what happened. See, having two older brothers had its perks sometimes. "Besides, Brad would be happy to hear that someone still has hope in teaching me how to surf, I think he's given up on me completely," she smirked.

Regina wanted to hold on to him, she wanted to pull him into her and just hug him til they both needed air. But she knew that would be a very bad idea. She still held onto him for a little bit longer because if she left go of him then she was bound to make her heart ache that much more and with the tears building up behind her eyes she was sure they would fall the moment they actually moved away from each other. He slowly pulled away and looked down at her to which she looked back at him and she was sure he could see the tears in her eyes. Regina was sure that one actually fell. He kissed her and she kissed him back. Soft lips against trembling ones. Then came the words that she didn't want to hear so early but she knew she had too. Brad said that they should go and he took her hand. She used her other one to wipe the tears away from her face and walked out with him, her hand holding onto his tightly. They walked out the apartment and saw Mike and Mindy were together and even having a laugh... Maybe she could do one last bit of match-making before she left for New York.
Mike grinned at her once more before shrugging up a shoulder. He was starting to like Mindy, she was fun to be around and knew that the surf lessons were going to be interesting. She kept up with his teases so that was a good thing. It meant he could tease her and not have her get the wrong end of the stick like people have before. In honesty he was very surprised that he never got hit before but that was down to the others not understanding his teasing. Either that or they really needed to lighten up a bit more. He then smiled when she spoke about the fact that Brad would be happy to hear that he was teaching her how to surf as Brad himself had given up on her. Apparently he was a very patient person when it came to something like that, after all he did teach his sister to surf and she wasn't a very easy person to teach something too. He was going to speak but the door to the apartment opened and he saw Brad and Regina walk out and he saw her face and his heart broke for her all over again. Why did she keep doing this to herself?

He saw the tear from her eyes, saw as one tear fell down her face. He hated that this was the reason that was causing it. Only seeing Mike and Mindy outside made this thing even more real, like a reality check that this was actually happening. There was a bunch of scenarios in his head on how he can try to make it work, but the fact that they both had demanding and busy careers made it impossible. As soon as they made it out towards the car, he forced himself to smile at the two. At least they were laughing and smiling which was completely opposite of what Brad and Regina were doing right now. He couldn't say goodbye to her again, it would only make things worse, especially in front of the other two. He was just glad that Mindy and Mike were laughing with one another, he didn't want to have to have them wrapped in their issues. All he wanted to do was to go home and have the day be over with. As amazing as it had been earlier, it still wasn't how he wanted it to end. It was actually bittersweet and now it was just plan sad. The longer he stood with her the longer he didn't want to let her go. "Everything is ready to go," he said, looking over to Mike's car to see everything packed before looking back at the others. "Take care of yourself, okay?" He said to Regina and smiled before letting Mindy say her goodbyes.
Mindy had been joking around with Mike and teasing him right back when she saw his face look behind her and then a look of sadness appeared on his face. She turned to see Brad and Regina coming out of the apartment building. She then saw the look on Brad and Regina's face when they made their way towards them and it wasn't what she wanted to see. It killed her to know that both of them were hurting and that their time together was ending soon. She looked over to Mike before looking back at the two, wishing that there was something she could do to make this all better and she could tell that Mike wanted the same thing. Instead, when Brad and Regina reached them, she went over to give Regina a hug goodbye, "don't be a stranger and come back to visit us sometimes whenever you find time in your busy life," she said with a smile. She and Regina always got along and she really liked her with Brad, so she was sad too to see her leave. When she took a step back, she looked over at Brad who wasn't even looking in their direction, she could tell he was really hurting the longer they stayed standing there. "So are you leaving tonight then?" She asked her, curious to know when she was leaving exactly. She knew that Regina and Mike were going to have dinner with the family but she wondered if she'll be leaving right after.

Regina knew the look on Mike's face even before she had stepped in front of him. He was wondering how she was doing it all over again. In honesty she was wondering it herself. Everything was a mess right now and she wanted to stop and just say 'enough was enough' but she just found herself smiling and hugging Mindy. "I promise I won't" she admitted and pulled back. She couldn't help but watch Mindy and Mike and wondered if she could get them together or at least push Mike in Mindy's direction. She was a lovely girl and knew she would take care of her brother's heart. Her eyes fell on Brad when he told her to take care of herself and she gave him a smile. "I promise I will" she said and then nodded before putting her attention back on Mindy "Uh, no, I'm leaving tomorrow" Regina admitted before putting her hands into the pockets of her jeans. She was staying at her parents tonight and then going back tomorrow. The long flight to New York was going to put her on edge but she would be okay, hopefully, when she reached New York.
Mike watched the two and leaned against the car door. He couldn't see why Regina had to keep doing this to herself, he hated to see her cry. He hated to hear her heart breaking too and he knew that was what it was doing. He cleared his throat and after Regina said her goodbyes he leaned off the car door and opened it for her. "Ready?" he asked and smiled when she nodded and got into the car. Mike shut the door behind her and then looked between Mindy and Brad before putting his eyes on the latter of the two. "Take care, dude" he said and smiled slightly before looking at Mindy. "I'll give you a call when I'm ready for what we discussed" he then pulled the car keys out of his pocket before walking around the front and opening the driver's side door. This was going to be horrible and he hated to hear her cry but he got in the car and not two seconds after he shut the door did Regina turn to him and say.
"Mindy is nice..." she said and pulled the belt over her and put her eyes on him with a raised eyebrow.
"Don't even think about it" he huffed and started the car. Mike wasn't ready to date and he certainly wasn't going to pull Mindy into his drama filled life.

Every step he took towards them, he was dreading it even more and more. He wanted her to go at the same time wanting her to stay. Her going would get this over sooner, but having her leave was actually pretty painful. He stayed put where he was standing while he watched her get into Mike's car. When he heard the door close, he looked down to the ground and let out a sigh. Thankfully they didn't have to say their final goodbye to each other because he was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to handle anymore of it. Up until this morning, he had it all together. He was ready to move forward and start again, and then fate had a funny way of bringing them back together and that moment they spent together brought him back to where he started the first time she left. This was harder than the first time. At least the first time they didn't have to go through all of this. He stayed standing where he was while he let Mindy and Mike say their goodbyes to one another. He didn't want to look inside of the car and look at her, he knew he wouldn't be able to.
Mindy nodded her head when Mike told her he'll call her when they're ready to go surfing. She figured it'll be a while before it would happen since he had to make sure everything was okay with Regina, which was completely understandable. She wanted to make sure her own brother will be okay in the long run. She watched as Mike got into the driver seat before starting the car and driving off. She waved as the car drove off before turning back to her brother who was standing by his car quietly, "Hey...how are you holding up?" she asked him softly as she walked over to him. She hated seeing her brother like this, seeing him so down and sad. He had worked so hard to move on with his life and start over again, and when he was finally happy, it was one of her favorite things to see.
The sound of Mindy's voice made him raise his head to see her walking towards him. "I'll be okay," he said as he let out a deep sigh. And he will be, it'll just take time...a lot of time apparently. He needed to stop thinking about it. It's the only way he'll learn to be okay. It's the only way he'll be able to move forward and forget about all of this. So he has to change the subject, and quickly before it got to him. "So you and Mike huh?" he teased her. With everything that was going on, he didn't forget that he saw Mindy wearing Mike's jacket earlier. Sure they might've just met, but some people could click on the first day. And he really liked Mike too so he would approve of that if it were to happen, which Brad wouldn't be opposed to setting them up.
Hearing what Brad asked after changing the subject to something else, she smirked at him. Of course this was going to be brought up eventually. She knew her brother didn't let things pass him, especially when it came to her. "Don't even start with that," she said, rolling her eyes before walking away from him, "I'll see you at home," she said. She was at a place in her life where she was content with the way things were, being single and all. What she wanted and needed in her life was a friend and she made a new one today. A really good looking friend. Before getting into her own car, she turned to her brother and smiled, "Hey you're gonna be fine by the way, just don't go back to Allison please," she said before getting into the car. She never liked that girl anyways.

The more further they got away from each other the more she started to feel her heart aching but she knew that in the end she would be going back home from here. Her heart ached more than anything but she looked out the window and watched as the cars moved passed them. It felt like they were going slow and ever other car around them was going fast. She closed her eyes for a moment and leaned her head back. More than anything she wanted to wake up in her apartment back in New York and having never came to Cali. She opened her eyes once more and looked out the window once more. Regina knew that Mike was worried about her but she didn't need anyone to be worried because she was going to be okay, she just needed to get her head back on straight and then she would be fine. She would push the thoughts away and into a little box and then she would be okay. Regina leaned her head from the frame of the door and then pushed the button to put the radio on and she found that nothing but love songs were on and she winced everytime she heard one she remembered from last time. Regina sighed and then turned the radio back off. She needed to have something that wasn't a love song. She sighed under her breath and then put her head back against the frame of the door. She was starting to wish that she could skip this dinner because it was going to be hell. Her parents, or rather their mother, would ask her what she did today. Who she saw and everthing else and she didn't want those sort of questions when she was nursing a broken heart. Regina heard Mike clear his throat and knew he was waiting for her to say something. "I'm fine" she said without any sort of emotion.
"Yep, clearly you are" he said and shook his head and wished that he didn't let her stay with Brad now.

The last time Brandon talked to Regina, it had been after the awkward dinner party at his parents' house. That whole thing had been a whole mess and Brandon had offered to take her home so that she didn't need to stay around. Instead of going straight home that night, they had stopped on the side of the road just to talk and they had gotten along really well. He considered her a friend regardless of the relationship she had with Brad. They might not have been close when the two of them were dating but they got along really well whenever they were around each other. So when she invited him to come out to New York and visit her sometimes, he always kept that in mind. With his job, he was always traveling for events, and the city was always a frequent destination for him. He hadn't spoken to her about paying her a visit, but he figured he'd surprise her. He wasn't sure if anything happened between Brad and Regina before she headed back, but when he saw Brad before he left to the city, he looked visibly upset and angry. Mindy had mentioned to him that something happened between the them but didn't really say what and he didn't want to pry on whatever was going on. So he figured he'd come out here to visit her since he was in town for a couple of days and had a day to spare.
It had been a long day...extremely long day. Looking at the clock, Mindy realized she had stayed longer than she wanted to at work. Being a nurse, her service was in quite a demand and she knew that she couldn't just leave whenever she wanted to. Not without making sure the patients were fine before she left. Now here she was, tired out of her mind as she left the hospital. It was still early in the day, but she had been working since five in the morning and rarely had any sleep the night before. She needed a drink. Yep, maybe two. Ever since she's gotten back, it had been work non stop for her, trying to catch up with everything going on at her work and she felt like she already needed to go on vacation or do something fun. She hadn't heard from Mike yet, which was fine as she had a lot going on at work and she figured he was still helping Regina out. Things with Brad had been a little rough the couple of days after Regina had left. He was always out on the waters surfing, and when she wanted to spend time with him, he'd always brush her off. She figured he was still hurting from whatever happened between the two and he needed his space so she was giving it to him. So now here she was, debating if she really wanted to go get a drink by herself or go home and read a book or something. Ah, when did her life get so boring all of a sudden?

That night at her parents had been hell. She hadn't eaten anything and of course she got the usual questions from her mother and she had so badly wanted to snap at her but she just sat through it thinking of how she wanted to stab the fork into her eyes. This was so much pressure and she wanted to tell her mother to stop asking so many questions but the last thing she needed was her upset mother making things so much worse so she sat through it and managed to get through the damn dinner. The next day she flew back out and when she got home she crashed into bed and pulled the cover up over her head. Of course Mike had come back with her at last minute to make sure that she was okay and had stayed for a couple or so days before he too headed back to Cali. Then she was stuck in the apartment on her own and was more than happy when she went back to work. It was like heaven being back at Pearson Specter. Apparently someone new had taken over as named partner and it was a big deal. Then she was pushed into the thick of it and was happy because it took her mind off everything that had happened back home.
When Mike had got back home he had made sure that everything was okay with the shop and then pretty much put himself into work and surfing. Then there was the nights that he would be at the bar with the open mic nights. Apparently he was really good and they liked hearing his stuff. It was amazing because he never thought he was good enough but someone heard him singing at work and they suggested about going to the open mic nights and he's been doing it ever since. It was fun and a good night out for him. He had even written his own songs and there was a few that he loved, then there had been the one to Georgie when he finally realized that he was over her and was time to move on. Sure he was still hurt but he will get over it. It was a few days after coming home that he had found Mindy's number and remembered that he promised to call her when he wasn't busy to start the surfing lessons. He was sure that Regina was fine back in New York, she had sent him a text saying that work was keeping her busy and someone had taken over as new named partner where she worked but other than that she was good. Well he did like to hear that but he kept looking after her from this end anyway. He had then forgotten about calling Mindy until he found the number once again and this time he picked up his phone and rang her. He bit on his lip and waited for her to pick up on the other end. He was feeling nervous but he didn't know why.

Brandon looked around at all the buildings in the city as he walked the busy streets. As busy and crowded as it was, he could see why people loved it here. This pace and lifestyle was more fitting for him than the upscale hollywood lifestyle back home. Sure it was colder than California, but he didn't mind it whatsoever. He could see himself living here one day, if his job would just let him stay in one place. The good thing about his job was it was extremely flexible and he could travel whenever and wherever he wanted to. When he found her building, he had to work a little charm at the front desk to ask what her place number was. He had gotten the name from her a while back but wasn't really sure what floor or building she was in. And he didn't want to ask her since it was supposed to be a surprise. Ah, he hoped that she was there or else this whole plan would have backfired. Finding the door, he knocked on it, waiting and hoping that she was home to answer the door. He wanted to congratulate her on her new place and new job and wanted to make sure that she was okay. He figured that she would like some company, or so he hoped so.
Mindy reached her car in the parking lot and let out a deep sigh before getting into the driver seat. She had been contemplating on what to do until she felt her phone ring in her purse. Looking at the number, a smile crept on her face when she saw who was calling her. Brad had given her his number to call him if he didn't end up calling her. Brad said that it was for 'surfing purposes' but she knew her brother well and she had a feeling he was trying to play matchmaker. Maybe Brad's intention was for her to learn surfing as soon as possible so that she could go out to the waters with him, but she wasn't going to push it especially when he said he'll call her when he wasn't busy. "You know, I was beginning to think you were going to blow me off and not call at all," she said, smiling softly. She figured it was Mike as she had been waiting on a phone call from him. Honestly she was glad to be hearing from him and a little surprising as well since it's been a while. She figured he was still helping Regina settle in or maybe that he forgot. Whatever it was, she was glad to hear from him.

Regina pulled her glasses off once more when she walked up and down her living room looking over a file. Her head was pounding and she was pretty sure that she had been reading this damn thing for hours now. In fact she was sure it was, she checked the clock and found it was in fact only half an hour. Well that didn't go very well. She huffed out a laugh before shaking her head and wishing she hadn't because her head was hurting. She grabbed herself a couple of pills and put them into the water and drank them down. Maybe now she would be okay. Regina put her glasses back on and was about to get stuck back into the file when the door went. She sighed under her breath before putting the file down on her coffee table and walking over, bare foot, to the front door. She wasn't really expecting anyone but that didn't mean anyone didn't turn up. She pulled her lip in between her teeth and opened the door to find.... Brandon was standing there. Well this definitely was a big surprise. A smile pulled at her lips, it felt like the first one in years even though it actually wasn't. "What?" she said and then laughed softly and pulled him into a hug. "I never expected you to actually turn up" she admitted. Regina would often tell someone that she would drop by but never ever actually did so this was definitely a surprise. She pulled back and smiled before nudging her head towards her apartment. "Come in" she huffed and moved out of the way for him to come in. When Brandon had gone into the apartment she shut the door behind him. "Can I get you anything?" she asked and walked back towards the living room area for him to sit down.
Mike heard her voice as soon as she answered the phone and smiled softly when she said about him possibly blowing her off. "Well I did say that it would be a while" he admitted and ran his hand along one of the surf boards he had on the table in front of him. In honesty he had been majorly busy with work and Regina that he didn't have time to ring her and when he did think about doing it, he would put the number to one side and then forget about it and that was why he was here and a few, weeks?, later he was ringing her up. He was sure it was days but looking at the calendar it was more like weeks. He cleared his throat. "Plus I ended up going back to New York with Regina for a few days to help her settle back into her place" Regina had been a mess and it was something that he never wanted to see for a very long time but he was sure that she would find some way to hurt her heart again. But with the big cases that her firm had taken on, he doubted that he would see her back here for a while so maybe she would be able to give her heart a break from Brad. He liked the guy, really he did, but she was his main priority right now. And he hated to see her so upset and putting herself through more heartbreak. Mike had actually had Regina on his case about Mindy. He really didn't need dating advice from his sister. He wasn't ready to date and while he was completely over his ex girlfriend, he wasn't ready for the heartache that came with dating so he didn't see Mindy in that way. She was his sisters ex boyfriends sister who wanted to learn to surf and that was all.... Right?
