Brandon watched as she got up to leave as she didn’t feel like being there anymore. The guy had put a damper on their night and he didn’t blame her for wanting to leave. In fact it was probably better for him to head home too anyways. "Can I walk you out?" he asked her with a soft smile. He just wished that things were different, that the guy didn’t interrupt their conversation because aside from that, they were having a great night so far. Maybe there was a chance that he wasn’t going to tell Brad anything, but still, he wanted his brother to hear from one of them instead of someone else. And if she was the one that wanted to talk to him, then he wouldn't interfere. He just hoped that Brad didn't come to him first before she got the chance to talk to him. He would just have to avoid him for a couple of days which wasn't too hard to do since he barely saw Brad as is. This could be a distraction for her and that's exactly what she didn't want.
Mindy couldn’t help but to laugh and roll her eyes, “I’m sure all the boyfriends will be happy about that one,” she grinned at him, obviously knowing that they would be the exact opposite of that. She was sure some girls would be happy to leave their boyfriends for him. “Too bad you weren’t around to sing that song when I was with my last boyfriend. Had I known how it was going to end I would have left him a long time ago,” she smiled softly. She looked around the bar and she could tell that they were waiting for him to go on stage. "I don't think they'll let you out of this one, even my brother came out to see you." He was a crowd favorite and she could see why with a voice like that. "Or you could just sneak out and they'll never know and I promise I won't tell," she smirked softly, giving him the idea in case he didn't feel like going up on stage. Honestly just sitting here and talking to him made the evening pretty enjoyable. She didn't think that she'd speak to him again if she was honest, but she was glad that they ran into each other tonight and started a new page.

"I would love that" she admitted with a soft smile. At least away from this place they might actually be able to talk a little. The last thing she wanted was for that guy to be watching their every move especially if he knows Brad. Maybe he won't recognize her. Maybe they will actually be able to get away with it but the other part of her is telling that what i he did tell him, what that guy saw a picture of her and told Brad about her and Brad. But at the same time they didn't do anything. They were just talking, okay they probably looked cozy but that was just how she was with people but what didn't help was the fact that she actually did in fact like Brad. It was a complicated thing and she wasn't sure just want to do with the information that she had in her brain. But she would have to deal with all of that tomorrow because right now she was tired and wanted to get some sleep before she really did do something stupid.
Mike laughed softly and then nodded. "I'm pretty sure they would love it" he grinned at her before biting on his lip. Hell he was sure that guys would try it on girls that they liked but whether or not they actually left their boyfriends would be up to them. He definitely didn't want anything to do with that. He turned his eyes to the stage once more and was wondering whether he wanted to go too. It was pretty late, or at least it was later than when he and his sister had actually got here. Mike slowly moved his eyes over and looked at her. "Would you like to take a walk along the beach? I mean I understand if you don't want too but I can only ask, right?" he asked and then gave her another smile. Maybe things would be a lot easier if they walked along the beach and away from the place that had started their disastrous night last time. He loved this place more than anything but the last thing he wanted was for her to be thinking about the kiss that happened last time, even if they knew at some point they were going to have to address it and maybe the walk would make that a little bit more easier on his part.

A smile appeared across his face at her answer. He finished his beer before standing up and heading out of the bar with her. He knew he originally came to see Mike sing at the bar, but he knew that Mike would sing here again and he'd be able to see him next time. He looked over to see where Mindy and Mike were and saw that they were still talking to one another, so he figured he'd walk her out first. He put his hand on her back as he guided them through the crowd and out the front entrance. As soon as they made their way outside, he let out a small sigh. They would figure this out eventually and he hoped that however this was going to turn out, he wouldn't get the short end of the stick like he always did his whole life. Brandon knew he liked Regina which only further complicated things, but he couldn't help how he felt and somehow he had to make Brad understand that. Making his way with her to her car, he had to ask, "So about my question that I asked before we were interrupted..." he grinned at her. He knew that she probably had a lot going on with the case right now and that didn't stop him from asking her to dinner after. He also knew she probably wanted to clear things up with Brad first, but Brandon was a patient guy and he was willing to wait.
Mindy was surprised by his question as it was something she didn't expect him to ask. For a split second there she was a little hesitant, naturally. It been that wall that she newly built up to protect herself from getting hurt by him. There was just something about him that she couldn't say no to and if she was being honest, she didn't really feel like ending her night right now. Her mind told her to say no, but her heart told her otherwise. "Sure, I'd love to," she smiled at him before standing up as well. She looked back to see where Brandon was and did not see him around. She'd text him later if he was looking for her. She loved walking on the beach at night time, it was her favorite thing to do. There was nothing more relaxing and calming than having no one else on the beach, the sound of the quiet waves, under the moonlight. Whenever she had a lot on her mind, that would be the place to find her. It was a good thing that the bar wasn't too far from the beach, close enough for them to walk down towards the water. She took off her sandals and dipped her feet into the sand as she walked with him. She had to ignore that nervous feeling in her stomach, it was just something about being around him that gave her that feeling. They'd been walking in a comfortable silence for a little bit before she, of course not being able to keep her mouth shut, spoke up to him, "we're okay...right?" It had been a question that had been on her mind all night.

Regina pushed her eyebrows together when Brandon asked her about the question and if she was honest she had forgotten about it when he said that the other guy knew Brad. She gave him an apologetic smile as if to tell him the truth. "Ask me again" she said softly and then put her arm through his as they walked together. She had a lot on her mind and there were things that she needed to do so it wasn't surprising if she did forget about things from time to time. She pulled her lip in between her teeth before looking forward once more. She was sure that she could do whatever it was that he had asked her. Regina was good at multitasking lately and if she could multitask with this then she would be happy but if not then she was going to have to wait a little before things calmed down before she came out of the woodwork again. She put her eyes back on him and waited for him to tell her what it was that he had asked her.
Mike put his hands into the pockets of his jeans as they walked along the beach. He slowly moved his eyes up and looked at her when she asked if they were okay. A smile pulled at his lips before he pushed his eyebrows together. "Why wouldn't you think that we weren't?" he asked and then it slowly came back to him exactly why she would probably think that. "Ah, yes I think I see now why you would ask" he said and looked down at the sand. "We are okay, I promise, I just thought that maybe you would like to take a walk with me" he admitted before looking back up at her. Mike couldn't deny that he hadn't been thinking about her since the kiss at the club but he knew that she could do so much better than him. He was complicated and she really didn't need that from him but that didn't stop him from thinking about her. It didn't stop him thinking about what it would feel like to take her breath away in a hot kiss or what it would feel like to run his fingertips down her skin. But of course he really shouldn't be thinking about this. When they had been walking for a while he stopped and sat down on the beach. "You know I love coming out here just to listen to the water" he admitted and gave a smile before looking in the direction of the water. Sometimes even from this spot it cleared his mind when he had a lot on it.

Brandon smiled when she wrapped her arm around his arm, felt like a perfect fit to him. Spending the last hour with her was the highlight of his day, and his day was packed with a lot of work events. It was a day that was a lot more enjoyable than other days and he hadn't had that feeling in a long time. He laughed softly when she told him to ask her again,"Dinner with me when you win the case and it's all done and over with," he said with a hopeful voice and smiled. He had that confidence in her that she would win the case. Besides, hopefully thinking positive about it would make her a little more at ease. There was nothing to lose really going to a dinner with him right? Since he figured Brad would find out about them soon from the guy. He hated the fact that Brad had to learn that way, but Brandon really liked Regina and he really wanted to see where this could go, of course if she wanted to too. He wasn't exactly sure how she felt about him, but he hoped it was somewhat close to how he felt about her. He wanted her to take a chance, regardless of what the outcome could possibly be. As long as he got the chance to see her again, he didn't care how long he had to wait.
A big feeling of relief rushed through her at his answer and now it was all water under the bridge for them. It had been bothering her all night, wondering if he still held something against her or if they could finally be friends again. She smiled up at him as she continued to walk along the beach with him until he stopped to sit down on one of the logs on the beach. Mindy listened as the waves crashed against the beach sand and the wind slowly blowing her hair back. The smell of salt water surrounded them, but the fresh breeze was a lot better than the feeling in the little bar they were in. "You and me both are the same there," she smiled, "my favorite spot to go at night in the entire world to just think is by the lifeguard post down the beach over there," she said as she pointed towards the little shelter on the beach. "Ever since I was younger, that was the place I would hide or you'd be able to find me there. My parents live pretty close by here and when my brothers or parents drove me crazy, I'd go there. Or even the days my brothers would drag me out here for hours so that they could surf, that was my go-to place," she admitted. He was the first person she told that to, not even her best friend knew that it was her 'secret' place that she went off to. It was something she liked keeping to herself so that no one would come find her there to bother her. She actually didn't know if she was allowed to be on there, by she'd been going there for most of her life and she hadn't gotten in trouble for it.

Regina smiled when he told her again what it was that he had asked before putting her eyes on him. "I would love to have dinner when the case is over" she admitted. Maybe by then she will have her own news to tell him, maybe by then she would have the transfer under her belt but for now she was going to be keeping that secret close to her heart just in case it fell through at last minute. Regina was sure that she could do with dinner after the case and she would have plenty of time to sit down with him. She bit on her lip and then continued to walk with him again. It would make up for the dinner they didn't have back in New York because of this damn case but now that she was here and roaring to go she would be able to get this case out the way and then concentrate on things afterwards but she would have to let Brad know that she was in fact in town so that was going to be interesting. But that was for another day to worry about and not now.
Mike would often come out here when he needed some time to himself, if he couldn't sleep at night he would come here and sit and just have some time to himself. It would drive his parents mad on a school night but when things got so much to the point that he needed to have time to himself it meant that he was over-doing it a little. And now it's just something he's kept up, just taking time to himself to sit out here and just let the noise of the water cloud his mind, washing away thoughts that he really didn't want. But he was happy to have her out here with him, Mindy was talking and he looked over at her and nodded. "It's my favourite place too" he admitted with a smile and looked back in the direction of the water. Mike was pretty sure that he was born for the water because he was always out here but he guessed that was the surfer in him. For now he was just going to go with it and enjoy the ride. He glanced over at her again before once more looking away. The silence between them was comfortable and for that he was so thankful that they would be okay because if he was honest, he had missed her.

The biggest smiled appeared on Brandon's face when she agreed to dinner with him when she was done with the case. He wasn't aware that he had been holding his breath waiting for her answer, but after she answered, relief rushed through him. He had expected her to tell him no or that she'd think about it with everything that was going on, but her answer made his day a lot better than it had been before. Before he could help himself, he stopped walking and turned towards her so that he was facing her. "I hope you don't mind me doing this too then," he said quickly. He'd been wanting to do this all night, actually he's been wanting to do this ever since he left the city. At this point he didn't really care who saw, if it was Brad's friend who came back around and saw them again or even his sister that saw them together. He didn't care at this point. He leaned down to kiss her softly on the lips.
It made zero sense to him. What was his friend talking about? Patrick had texted him about seeing Brandon and Regina together at the bar, but that didn't make any sense to him at all. She was in New York. He said goodbye to her. There was no way she'd be back here, and with Brandon of all people. He had texted Patrick back asking him what the hell he was talking about and that's when Patrick called him not a minute later to explain what he saw. If you don't believe me, go down there yourself. He texted Brandon to ask him where he was, but he didn't get a response from him. Brad was finishing up his training practice and he had plans to go home to finish up the renovations he had been doing. But now, he couldn't stop thinking about this. He figured Patrick was lying, but the way he explained everything, it seemed like it was true. The bar that Patrick had mentioned was up the road from the beach and as putting his things away in his car, he couldn't help but to let the situation get the better of him. He had to see for himself.
Mindy sat there with him in the comfortable silence, listening to the wave and wind echo through the air. She had so many memories here, the good and the bad, but there was no other place she'd rather be. As much as she was trying to ignore the feelings she had for him, it was so hard to being this close to him. She knew she had to ignore it, to get over it because she was going to end up with her heartbroken. She wanted so badly to ask him about the wall he had up around his heart, she had a million things to ask, but it wasn't in her place to. Instead she had to bite her tongue, the last thing she wanted was to ruin their friendship again when they were just rebuilding it. And at this point his friendship meant a lot to her right now. His comment made her smile as she looked at him, "I guess we're both the same when it comes to that then," she said softly. "I'm glad we ran into each other tonight," she told him. If she hadn't ran into him, they probably still wouldn't be on speaking terms.

Regina didn't have time to ask what he was going to do when his lips were softly on hers. She moved her arm from his and then moved her hands up his chest and put her arms around his neck, drawing him closer to her. There was something there between them, there was no use in trying to deny it. Denying it would only put her in Mike's situation and the less time she had there the more she would be able to hold her hands up and say that there was something there. Regina wouldn't call it love, not just yet, especially when it was Brandon that she was seeing. If anyone found out about this then they would probably hang her out to dry. They would probably make her life a living hell and the last thing she wanted was for Brad to find out like this but that didn't stop her from smiling against Brandon's lips, letting the soft kiss continue between them.
Mike looked over at Mindy once more and smiled. "I'm glad that we ran into each other too" he admitted. Well it didn't seem like they ran into each other, more like it was going to happen whether they liked it or not and surprisingly he was okay with that. He missed her more than anything and when they stopped talking it was like a knife in his chest and he wasn't able to breath. He wanted to see her, to talk to her. To make the pain just stop and now for a little bit it finally had. He was able to breath deeply, to feel his heart pounding in his chest without the knife feeling in his chest. A smile moved across his lips and he slid his jacket off and put it around her shoulders. She might not be cold but it was there if she needed it. "Just in case" he said around the smile and then looked back at the water and for the first time in a while he actually felt more at home with someone than he had in a very long time. It even felt like a date but of course Mike wasn't going to say that out loud. Mindy didn't need to hear that he was calling this a date.

Brad honestly didn't want to be that guy that acted like this. He finally accepted that she left and that they both needed to move on with their life. In any other circumstances, he would let it go. Sure he would have been bothered by it, but he would've learned to accept it. But it was the fact that Brandon was involved that made him go there instead of letting it go. He wanted it to be false, that Patrick was lying about it or seeing things. He wanted to believe so badly that his brother wouldn't do that to him and that Regina cared about him enough not to do that, but there was that doubt in his mind. The other part of him though knew that he should turn back, forget, and just ask Brandon about it later. That's when he was prepared to turn around, but then something caught his eyes once he turned the corner. It was like someone took a knife and stabbed him in the back a couple of times; that's how he felt like when what Patrick told him was confirmed. He froze there, as he looked at the two of them kissing. First it was shock, but then the anger slowly started to rise in his body. "Just friends, huh?"
Kissing her had to be the best feeling in the world and right now that's all he wanted to do. As he was prepare to deepen the kiss, he heard someone speak to them. The voice stopped him suddenly from kissing her and the sinking feeling was in his stomach as he already knew who that voice belonged without even having to look. Slowly his head turned and it confirmed who the voice belong to. "Brad," Brandon said as he looked at his brother with wide eyes. This was not how he wanted Brad to find out about the two of them. Hell, that guy telling Brad would've been a lot better than this. That's when he stepped forward a bit, but stopped when he saw Brad coming his direction, and a lot faster than he would have expected. "Look we can explain..." he said as suddenly reality came crashing back and when he felt a fist swing across his face. Ow, that was going to bruise. Brandon grabbed onto his cheek as he turned his head back towards Brad, seeing the hurt and betrayal all over his face.
Brad didn't intend on punching his brother in the face. But his emotions were running high that he couldn't help his actions. "You both can go to hell," he said, as he looked at Brandon in the eyes before painfully looking over at Regina. "My own brother?" his voice was almost a whisper. The look of hurt, anger, and betrayal clear as day in his eyes. There was so many things that he wanted to say, that he could have said that weren't so nice, but he couldn't stand there right now, not in front of the two of them. They lied to him and he couldn't help to be angrier than he had been before.
Mindy was surprised when she felt his jacket around her shoulders. Honestly, it made her heart skip a beat too and she knew her mind was going into dangerous territory if she thought too much about it. "Thank you, you're such a gentleman," she blushed. It was like he felt her skin or something because she was cold and was extremely grateful. Even when he wasn't trying, he still made her feel a certain way. She knew she had to be careful about her heart, to not let herself fall harder for him, especially when she knew that they were in a place where a friendship was extremely important and letting herself for for him would only change things again. She couldn't help how she felt and it pained her to know that she had to ignore those feelings. He wasn't making it any easier on her though. What Regina told her the other day ran through her mind and all that she could think of was how he was feeling and what he was thinking. After a moment of silence between the two of them, she randomly asked, "Can I ask you a question?" she asked him, oh she knew what she was asking him was personal but she couldn't help it, "if you could go back and change things with Georgie, would you?" she asked in terms of if he would try to fix things or do things differently. She had to know the damage that she caused to him because she needed to help him believe in love again...even if it wasn't with her.

When she was kissing Brandon the last thing she wanted to hear was Brad's voice but here it was. Speaking and her going shock still as her eyes widened to the fact that it wasn't just the two of them anymore. She moved her arms and everything else away from Brandon and looked over at Brad and swallowed hard. No one ever deserved to see this but the other half was telling her that her and Brad wasn't together anymore so what did it really matter? But it did matter because Brad and Brandon were brothers and she felt like a shit person, even worse than what she felt when she left and came back to California. Regina winced when Brandon took a punch to the face and she stepped forward. She tried to say something but the words just seemed to fail on her because 'I'm sorry' sounded so pathetic but so did everything else. Nothing she wanted to say sounded like the truth anymore and suddenly she wondered why the hell she had taken this case, why the hell she wanted to stay and why the hell she was interfering in these two guys lives. It wasn't right and she was a shit person for it. Brad spoke to her and she wanted to say something. Anything. But the words caught in her throat, choking her, making her not say anything. She bit down on her lip, hard, to clear her head and she hung her head and looked down at her shoes. Right now she really needed to leave these two alone and get on with what she had come here for and that was the stupid case that didn't even sound like a good idea right now.
Mike looked over at Mindy when she asked if she could ask him a question and then nodded his answer to say that she could ask the question but whether he would answer it would be another thing. He expected something simple, something about surfing or about the two of them but the thing that he didn't expect was to be asked about the woman who had nearly killed him, not literally but she was the reason why he was so closed off from wanting to feel anything again. Even if it was the last thing he wanted to do he answered the question. "No" he admitted and shook his head. "Georgie was the worst part of my life and I never want to go back there to relive it or even make things different because she would always be the girl who cheated on me with my best friend and if it hadn't been me then it would have been someone else, there isn't changing anything that can't be changed" he said and then shrugged up a shoulder.

Brad knew that if he stood around them any longer, he'd probably punch Brandon in the face again. Then he'd probably start saying the not-so-nice stuff that he had bottled up inside. Not only that, but being around them was getting more and more painful that he didn't want to do that to himself. To see his brother and her together was only making the situation worst and it was practically pure torture. He knew he couldn't get the image of the two of them kissing out of his head and knew that he wouldn't forget it. So instead, he finally looked away from her, shook his head and walked away without looking back once.
Okay maybe he deserved that punch to the face despite how much it stung. It definitely was going to leave a bruise in the morning and would probably still throb. The look on Brad's face was enough for Brandon to feel terrible and guilty of the situation. The situation being that he had to see the two of them kissing. He watched as Brad walked away, not looking back as he disappeared around the corner of the building. He felt like the worst person in the world and he didn't know how Regina was feeling, but he really hoped that this didn't affect her badly. He turned back around and looked at Regina and let out a small sigh, "I'll fix this... please don't let this thing ruin anything for you." He didn't know how he was going to fix it, but he had to try. It was his brother and he had to try to make him understand somehow or least hear him out. But Brad was a stubborn one, and he'd probably be the last person that he would want to talk to. In his whole life and growing up with Brad, the two of them never really got into fights or arguments. Maybe when they were younger they would fight about stupid stuff, but this was different. The look on Brad's face was the worst he's ever seen for as long as he could remember. As guilty as he felt, it didn't change his feelings for her and he hoped she felt the same way.
Mindy listened as he talked about Georgie and she couldn't help to hate the girl even more even though she's never met her. How could someone do that to someone they loved, especially with someone's best friend? "Stop me if I'm prying too much, but how did you find out?" she asked curiously. She really hoped that he didn't walk into it and it was actually someone that told him. The worst way to find out is to see it for themselves, and she was speaking from experience. She couldn't understand how someone could cheat on a guy like him, someone that she thought was one of the good ones out there. He was such a good guy and he or even anyone for that matter didn't deserve that. This girl broke his heart and also from what she was told by Regina, was the reason why he had a wall around his heart. Yeah..she strongly disliked the girl even more now. A part of her was glad Georgie wasn't in his life anymore, because it was most likely that they wouldn't be here in this position being friends and all.

Regina didn't know what to do anymore. She was caught in the middle of these two guys and it wasn't somewhere she wanted to be but she guessed that this was just how it was going to end up. Brandon was funny and he made her feel better when she felt so low and then there was Brad who had been her boyfriend for a while until they broke up when she moved to New York. Now she was just in the middle and she really didn't know what to do. She moved her eyes up just in time to see Brad turn away from her and then move away. She swallowed hard and reached out her hand to stop him but what she could say? Again 'sorry' didn't seem like the right word. It sounded so fake even on her own lips. Instead Regina kept quiet and let him leave. It was better for him to not have to look at them anymore. She slowly moved her eyes over to Brandon when he spoke and she nodded but in honesty she knew there was no fixing this. There was no fixing the hurt look on Brad's face. She reached into the pocket of her jacket and grabbed out her keys. Now was probably the time to just leave it. "I'll see you later" she muttered and then got into her car. Regina gripped the steering wheel but couldn't get the sick feeling out of her stomach. This was all wrong but she didn't even know how to make it right if she was being honest. Maybe if she went back to the City after she finished her case and just made no contact with any of them then it might be easier to bare. Who knows.
Mike raised his eyebrow at her, what was with the questions about Georgie? It was questions that he had been asked before and ones that he didn't like if he was being honest. Georgie was part of a past that was too hard to talk about. He sighed and then looked over at the water. "I saw them together, I had this feeling that something wasn't right so I told them both that I had to go away for a surfing competition but in reality I just stayed around the corner and I saw them making out" he remembered it like it was yesterday. The heartbreaking feeling of knowing that everything you had suspected had been true. It had hurt him so much to the point that Regina had promised to have Georgie killed and dumped into the water. He actually didn't let her but it was a little tempting at the time, he was just glad that Regina had been joking. Even though he was pretty sure that his sister did want to kill her. He swallowed against the feelings before looking down at the sand.
