Brandon didn't know why but he was a little nervous waiting for her to answer the door. What if she didn't want company or want to see him? Now he was thinking that he should have called ahead of time or asked her if he could visit her. Then that's when he heard footsteps coming from inside and he tensed up a little bit. He had contemplated on walking away, but he didn't have enough time to think about it before the door opened and he came face to face with Regina. Then that's when he saw her smile before reaching out to hug him. Now he was feeling a lot better for showing up to visit her. He felt himself relax as he hugged her back and grinned, "I was in the city and figured you could use some company and I thought that I'd surprise you," he said. It was so good to see her again. He shook his head as he entered her place after she asked him if he needed anything, "no I'm okay," he said to her. Instead he pulled a wine bottle from behind his back, "thought we could celebrate your new life," he said as he looked past her and saw a bunch of paperwork she had been working on, "unless I'm interrupting something important?" It looked like she was working on an important case, but he was going to make sure she had time to relax a little and enjoy a couple of glasses. She looked like she was having a long day with work anyways. "And I won't take no for an answer since I came alllll the way here to see you," he grinned.
Mindy ran her free hand through her hair and smiled when he said he went to New York with Regina, "Oh so you finally got to see the city, that's awesome," she said smiling. She remembered them talking about how neither of them has ever been there but one day would. "I'm just glad to hear from you," she admitted, especially after the long and exhausting day that she's had. Plus everything going on with Brad as well and making sure he was okay, it really took a lot of her time up so even if he were to call earlier, she was sure it wouldn't have worked out. Although Brad would probably be more than happy to have people out on the water with him. Now he was fine and she went back to her busy work schedule at the hospital. As busy as her life was with work, there were times when he'd randomly pop up in her mind every now and then. She had to admit that she didn't think he'd call after the first couple of weeks past and even though she would have been bummed she would have understood. His sister needed her more than anything right now. She would have done the same thing if the roles were reversed. "So what's up? How did I get so lucky with this phone call from you?" she joked.

When Regina took him back to the living room area she looked down at the files that were all over the place. In honesty the file was giving her a headache. She had been over the damn things over a hundred times, more like four times, but it wasn't giving her anything new. Or if it was then she couldn't see it right now. Maybe that was down the headache that she had had, which thankfully had now gone after taking painkillers. "Oh, no nothing important right now" she said and closed up every file before putting it into the box that she had brought home from work with her and taking it and putting it on her bed. Regina looked at the wine and smiled. "I would love a couple glasses" she admitted and then took the bottle before nudging her head towards the kitchen for him to follow her. She grabbed a couple of glasses and then the bottle opener and opened the wine before pouring it into the glasses. Regina probably shouldn't drink the wine after taking some painkillers but at this moment she really didn't care because she did in fact need some downtime. She held his glass for him to take and once she did she grabbed her own and took a sip before walking back into the living room. "So, you're in the city for a competition?" she asked and sat down on the couch, pulling one leg up and underneath her.
Mike wanted to be there for Regina when she got home because he knew that she was broken-hearted and the last thing he wanted to do was let her go back home on her own so he grabbed himself a ticket and went back to New York with her. In honesty it was the best trip he had taken. Regina had got up and took him for a see-sighting tour and it was the best one they had spent together. He did keep an eye on her but she looked somewhat okay now that she was away from Cali and he knew he wouldn't have to worry about her but he stuck around a few more days anyway. "Well I was thinking about whether you wanted to start up those surf lessons, I have some time on my hands and I said that I would give you a call so here I am... giving you that call" he shook his head at himself and looked up to see his best friend giving him the thumbs down. God this was so terrible. He was only asking her if she wanted to do the surf lessons but it sounded like he was asking her out and he definitely wasn't doing that. Mike shook his head once more at Braden. This was the worst call he has ever done. "You know, if you want too of course" he cleared his throat and wanted to put the phone down because Mike was sure that he was making the biggest fool out of himself. He really wished that she would answer so that he could put himself out of misery.

Brandon took the glass of wine that she handed him and followed her back into the living room before taking a seat next to her. He took a drink out of his glass before answering her. "No actually, I have a new job as an event coordinator for high profiled and publicized events," he said, "And there's one coming up in the city at the end of the week so I thought I'd come out here early and visit you," he said, smiling. He loved his new job. As much as he loved surfing, he knew that wasn't something he'd end up doing. He was good at it, but he wasn't as good as Brad. Brad was born to surf and do it for a living, his own calling was just something else and he was perfectly fine with it. He was good at socializing with people, public speaking, and pretty damn good at throwing crazy and fun events. That was one of the nice things about living in California, there you have all the connections with a bunch of different people. He was a people person, he got along with everyone and it was extremely easy for him to make friends. That's why he knew that this was the job for him and when he got offered the job, there was no way he would have been able to turn it down. So now here he was in the city, about to host one of the biggest events of the year. "So what about you hot shot lawyer, working at one of the biggest firms out there, what are you working on now?" he asked her, smiling. He's heard about the company that she works for and he had to admit that he was pretty proud of her for working there. He was genuinely interested in what was going on in her life and he felt like he hadn't talked to her in a long time. He just couldn't believe that he was actually here with her.
Mindy couldn't help but to raise her eyebrow a bit when he asked her if she wanted to start the surfing lessons. She couldn't help but to smile a little bit as well at the way he asked her. Instead of answering right away, she wanted to tease him a little bit, first she stayed dead silent for a couple of seconds, "Hmm...I don't know... it did take you a little long to get back to me...I'll have to think about it and see if I can fit you in," she said, grinning to herself. She paused for a couple of seconds just to mess with him before answering again, "I'm kidding, I'd love to," she said to him. "Just let me know when and where and I'll be there." To be honest she was excited to surf again. She hadn't been back out on the water since before her traveling and she had been gone for a year, so even though she sucked at it, she was still excited nonetheless. It was the perfect time too, the waves were supposed to be really good for the next couple of weeks. Now she had something to look forward to instead of just working all the time. Then that's when she realized she still didn't have any plans today. She had been debating on going somewhere before he had called her on the phone, she just hadn't decided where she was going to go yet. But now that she had him on the phone... she bit her lip again, she debated on asking him if he was free or if he was busy at the moment, "Actually, what are you doing right now?" she asked him. Okay now she was sounding like she was asking him out.

Regina listened to him and then smiled brightly when he said that he got a new job. "Wow!" she said and then clinked her glass against his in celebration. So it meant that he was going to be in the city for a little bit then. That was good, she liked that because of the fact it meant that she could see him. After everything happened between her and Brad, she had't dared called Brandon because the last thing she wanted to do was put him in a difficult position. But the night of the dinner at his parents house she had invited him to visit her in New York and now here he was. "You should definitely come at Christmas!" she said with excitement in her eyes. Oh god, Christmas was amazing! It made her feel like a little girl again and she was perfectly okay with that just as long as she didn't let her bosses know that she was like that. She wanted to be seen as a good lawyer and not a child. Brandon then went onto say about her working at Pearson Specter. She looked down and smiled to herself. She was damn proud of herself for getting in there too because it meant that she had done it all on her own and without anyone's help. "Oh, you know just trudging along" she admitted and looked up at him. Her eyes then looked towards her bedroom at the box that she had brought home from work."It keeps me busy" she admitted and then looked back at Brandon with a smile and when he asked her what she was working on she put her finger to her nose. "You will find out soon enough" she said with a grin before taking a sip of her drink. This case definitely was going to be a big one. That was all she could really say.
Mike had to laugh when she started to tease him. He really did have a legit reason for not getting back to her for so long but his sister and work had been his main priorities at the time. But he knew that she understood so it was all good. He waited for her to stop teasing him before taking a sip of his coffee and getting the eye from his best friend. Thankfully he wasn't the guy that had ran off with his ex girlfriend. No, Braden and Mike had met while they had been surfing out on the waves and he hasn't been able to get rid of him since. Not that he really wanted too because he turned out to be his best friend. The guy was amazing and he was going pro so it was interesting to see it from his point of view. Mike was going to answer her about where and when when she asked him what he was doing right now. "Now?" he said and saw Braden put his thumbs up. "Honestly I'm not doing anything, I can shut up the shop or get my friend to work for me if you want to start surfing now?" He wondered if that was what she was asking because if it was then he knew that Braden would cover for him no matter what. He had done it for a while and he knew the ropes and he knew that Braden loved working in here. So it was a win win for both of them really.

Brandon clinked his glass with hers after she cheered him and then took a long drink out of his glass before smiling. "I definitely do plan on coming here around Christmas time," he said, "We're always throwing a Christmas benefit around that time of year so I'll definitely will be back soon." After California, New York was the second most place she went to since a lot of events happened on the East Coast. "I'll definitely come back to visit during the Christmas time too but I'll need a good tour guide to see all the good places during that time of year, if you're up for the task," he smirked. As many times as he did come here during the year, he never really got to go around and explore the city. He's heard many good things about the holidays, especially Christmas and New Years, but his job was so busy that he never had time to relax. Also given that he never really traveled earlier than he had to. He only did this time so that he could visit Regina before he had to actually start working. He was glad he actually did this though, he had told her before that he'd visit her and now here he was. When she told him that he'll soon find out about the case she was working on, he raised his eyebrow and suddenly he was intrigued. Must be something crazy. "Well whatever it is, you're gonna kick ass in it," he said with a grin, now clinking his glass to her and taking another sip. Who knew that they'd one day be in a spot in their lives that they truly loved with they did for a living. He looked around at her place, taking in how different homes on the west coast and east coast could be. Just by sitting in here, you could tell this place belonged to this city. "How have you been though, aside from being busy from work?" He asked her softly, he meanly meant how she was doing in terms of moving forward with her life and the whole Brad fiasco. He knew it was probably a touchy subject that she didn't want to talk about but he wanted to make sure that she was okay and that by him being here didn't remind her of him.
Mindy smiled when he offered to start teaching her today. Well she hadn't expected to go out to the water today, more so she was going to ask him if he wanted to grab a couple of drinks or something since she was free the rest of the day but since he offered.Mindy was never really one to ask a guy out first, even if it was friendly and meant no harm. So she was glad when Mike offered to start today. "I'll meet you at your shop?" She asked him, by her asking that was practically her agreeing to start today. Of course she'd have to go home and grab her bathing suit and wetsuit that she wore whenever she went out surfing. It wouldn't take long though as she lived nearby and he distance from her place to the ocean wasn't too far. That was the perk of living near the water, being able to go out there whenever you wanted to. Which she never really took advantage of anyways. "Should I bring my own board?" She asked him. She had her own, but whenever she went out, Brad had a surfboard ready for her so she didn't have to haul it on top of her small car. Who knows, with the way Brad has been lately, they probably would run into him out in the water. He was always there, but it was later than usual so maybe he went home already. She was excited for it, usually she never was but for some reason she couldn't wait to get out to the water. And to be honest she was excited to see him again, she didn't why though. Well whatever it was, she was ready to go out to the water again... no matter how much she was going to suck. Who knows, maybe he'll be able to turn her around and turn her into somewhat a decent surfer.

Regina listened to him talking and nodded and smiled when she needed to do. He said about coming back for Christmas and in honesty she was happy because it meant that she would see him again. She wouldn't be on her own. Not that she was ever really on her own. She had a friend from work who liked to come in and see her and in honesty she was happy for the company and for girl time outside of work. She took a sip of her drink and then smiled once more when he said that she would kick ass at this case. She honestly hoped so. It was her chance to show her bosses that she really was committed to her work. She loved her job and was more than happy to be here. Brandon then asked how she was, really doing, and she swallowed hard. If she was honest, coming back here in the beginning had been a tough one but she got through it with the help of her brother, who she was sad to see go back but she made him promise that he would call Mindy and ask her out. Or at least ask her out for a drink. "I'm... okay" she admitted and nodded with another smile. It was the truth, she was okay. Sure she had been upset when she left, again, but she was doing okay. Or at least she thought that was the case but who really knows, right?
Mindy asked if to meet him at the store and he said "Yeah, that would be great" he admitted. Mike knew that Braden would take over the shop, flirt with the female customers, have a laugh with the male ones and get him more people to come in. He was generally the best person to have around in these circumstances, even if Mike knew that he was going to lose him when Braden went pro, but it was something he was going to have to deal with when that happened. She then went onto ask about bringing her own board. "No, I have a few spare here you can use one of them" he then bit down on his lip and then gave her the address for where he was. Mike wasn't sure if she had ever known where it was but he gave her the address anyway. God, why did he even have to say that he would give her lessons? He was always confident when it came to talking on the phone but for some reason he was a nervous wreck and just wanted to put the phone down and face the horror that was his friend, who by the way looked like he was trying not to burst out laughing. Braden was a shit, he would pay him back for this. But he wasn't really sure why he was feeling so nervous. It wasn't like he liked her in that way.

Brandon couldn't help but wonder how she was really feeling even when she said that she was okay. When it came to that type of stuff, where it was relationship talk, he and Brad never really talked about that type of stuff. They were close but they weren't as close as Brad and Mindy were as he knew Brad told Mindy basically everything. But one thing he did know was how much Brad loved her and the first time they broke up, it really affected him for a really long time until he met someone new. So when he saw Brad again at a family dinner, he could tell something went down when Regina came back in town to finish things up. It must have been a few weeks or so since she was back in town so maybe she was doing better now. "I'm glad to hear that," he said honestly with a smile before taking a sip out of his wine glass. "I'm proud of you for picking up your life and moving out here without any hesitation, pretty awesome of you," he said. Even though Brad was his brother, Regina's choice to move away to live out her dream is something he supported. If it were him, he would have done the exact same thing. Without really thinking or hesitating, he knew how he wanted to celebrate that, "I think we have to celebrate that while I'm in town," he told her, "let me take you out to dinner," he offered. Brandon was really never one to hold back from anything, and he was always one to quickly think on his feet and be bold about things. Plus he was pretty persuasive and was prepared to do so if she declined his offer.
As soon as Mindy got off the phone with Mike, she headed home to change into her surf wear that she needed to go out surfing. She didn't know what to expect during these surfing lessons since it was with someone new and not her brother. She hadn't gone out to the water in such a long time that she was actually a little bit nervous to go out there, into the water where the waves were going to be crazy. Many questions started to pop into her head, like what if she hurt herself? What if something bad happens? Suddenly she was beginning to think that this wasn't a good idea. She knew she was just being anxious, so she knew she had to get there as soon as she could before she changed her mind. As soon as she got home, she went into her room to change into her bathing suit and then grabbed her surfing wetsuit. She made sure she had everything she needed before getting into her car and headed over to Mike's shop. It wasn't too far of a drive from where she lived to the address that Mike gave her and soon she was pulling up to the shop and parked her car. She grabbed everything she needed in her car before heading into the shop to meet up with him. She has driven past this place a couple of times but never actually gone inside until now. Now she was actually sort of excited and anxious at the same time, hopefully her nerves will calm down soon. But as soon as she saw Mike when she entered the shop, all the anxiousness and fear went away at the sight of him. Then that's when saw another guy with him and they were talking to one another. Clearing her throat softly to get their attention,"Hi guys..." she bit her bottom lip and then smiled at them as she let the shop door close behind her.

Regina smiled once more. In honesty she couldn't help but think that this was what Brad should've been saying to her. But never did he say he was proud of her. She knew she shouldn't be comparing the two of them because of the fact that they were brothers but Brandon had showed her so much more attention and he had said that he was proud of her when Brad hadn't said that. It wasn't a secret that she had gotten close to Brandon and that she actually liked him. But in honesty she wasn't sure how she actually liked him but he was a good guy. But when he said about taking her out to dinner she hesitated because of the fact that he was Brad's brother. "I don't think I can do that just now" she admitted and gave a slight smile. "I have so much to work on with the case that it wouldn't be fair to say yes to dinner and then stand you up" she bit down on her lip and watched him. "Maybe when you're in the city next time" but she wasn't sure if he would actually take her out to dinner or bring dinner to her, even if it was in the shape of a cheeseburger. Which she could very much go for right now.
Mike put the phone down and looked up at Braden who really was going to burst his side. "I hate you" he huffed out and shook his head. He was sure that a friend was meant to keep them level headed but this guy was laughing like an idiot. He was even tempted to hit him with one of the boards.
"Dude, I'm just cheering you on..." Braden had to put his elbow on the counter by the till because he was sure that he would fall over if he stood up much longer.
Mike glared at him and grabbed two boards from the back before coming out and putting them up against the counter and going back for his wet-suit. Maybe he could actually hit him over the head and dump the body in the water. It was plausible. He huffed out another breath before coming back out and looking back at his friend who looked like he was doing okay this time. He was about to say something when there was a clearing of a throat and he looked in the direction of the noise and found out that it was Mindy. He felt his stomach drop and he wasn't sure why. Mike cleared his throat before smiling. "I didn't expect you so soon" he admitted and then knew he sounded like an idiot. This was hanging around with Braden for too long. "Mindy Hicks this is my best friend Braden Hale, Braden this is Brad's sister Mindy"
"You mean the guy that was dating your sister?" he said and raised an eyebrow before putting his brown eyes on Mindy and giving her a smile and a small wave. "Hello, nice to meet you".

Part of him figured that she'd say no to his offer of dinner. Maybe she thought it was weird to be hanging out with her ex-boyfriend's brother, but he didn't think it was too weird at all since it was just a friendly date...right? Besides, she was his friend before anything else and he didn't see her as his brother's ex-girlfriend but rather a good friend of his. He was never one to hold it against her, but then again, Brandon was never one to really take no for an answer. "Okay fine then...how about coffee and dessert tomorrow?" he asked her with a raised eyebrow. "You're not going to say no twice to a guy who came allllll the way out here are to visit you are you?" he asked her, putting on a fake pout look. He obviously couldn't hold it too long before laughing. "Come on, one coffee and dessert break won't hurt," he said, "actually studies shows that if you take a coffee break while studying for a big case, chances of winning the case is a lot higher with all that caffeine and sugar in your body and brain," he said, pretending to act like it was actual facts when he was in fact just trying to persuade her. "And the chances are even better especially when you go with a guy like me, seems like I could increase the chances of winning the case too," he said in a matter of fact voice. Honestly he wouldn't hold it against her if she said no again. Maybe his ego and pride would be hurt, but he'll survive.
Mindy thought Mike would have been at the shop alone, but now that she thought about it, it made sense that there was someone else there with him. He would need someone to cover the shop while they were out at the water especially if there was going to be customers that came in who wanted to rent or buy surfboards or accessories. "I live pretty close, just a couple of blocks away so it didn't take me too long to get down here," she told Mike when he said that he wasn't expecting her so soon. "And I figured the sooner I got here, the sooner we had to get out to the waves when they're pretty good right now," she said. When he asked if she was Brad's sister, she nodded her head before responding, "Yeah that guy," she said, laughing softly. When most people heard of Brad's name, they knew who he was through surfing or some other sort of way, this was the first she's heard of him as the guy who dated Mike's sister. "That's how we actually ended up here with Mike giving me surfing lessons," she told Braden. "It's nice to meet you Braden," she smiled softly at him before looking at Mike and smiling at him. For some reason, he made her smile without really having to try. Maybe it was because she hadn't seen him in a while or it was a natural reaction, but she was glad she actually came now. "I'm ready when you are," she said. "Braden will you be joining us or are you gonna miss out on all the fun and seeing me make a big fool out of myself?" she asked, laughing slightly. Yeah she honestly would probably make a fool out of herself, but it was better than not trying at all.

Regina knew that Brandon wouldn't give up and he was being sweet but she was afraid to be pulled into anything. Brandon was a good guy and she liked that about him but she wasn't sure if she should be out with him. But it was coffee and dessert and she could definitely do both of them. Heaven knows she might actually need it. She pulled her lip in between her teeth and then slowly smiled. "I think I can do dessert and coffee" she admitted before clinking her glass against his and drinking up the rest of the wine. She then reached over and grabbed the bottle before putting more of the contents in their glasses and taking a drink of her own. Okay, so she needed to live a bit and Brandon was her friend. She did need a break from work and he was going to be helping her to relax, where was the harm in that? Regina knew that Brad would probably find something bad about that but he wasn't here, Brandon was. Plus she did need to show him around the best spots.
Mike nodded. So she lived close by, that wasn't too bad. At least he wasn't going to be waiting all day for her to turn up but at the same time he never expected her to be that quick. But hey ho, at least they could get on with the lesson pretty quick. He wasn't sure how long he would have to take with her as with Regina she picked it up pretty quickly and would often go out on the waves in the morning to clear her head, or that is what she usually said anyway but he wasn't aware of Regina going out on the water for a while. In fact that was the best time they had together and then she got accepted into college, he decided not to go, and then when she came back she was sort of all serious and somewhat boring. He smiled when she said that it was how they actually ended up meeting. Mindy asked Braden if he was going to be joining them he said:
"I would love t-" he was cut off by Mike.
"He's minding the shop for me" Mike said quickly and then looked at Braden who was actually doing just that anyway.
"As, I was going to say before I was rudely interrupted, I would love too but I'm looking after the shop for his highness" he smiled. "Maybe next time"

A big grin appeared on his face when she agreed to coffee and dessert finally after saying no to dinner first. Hey, it was better than nothing and he was actually glad that she said yes. If she had said no to him twice, that would have really hurt his ego. "The one thing I know about New York is where to get the best coffee and dessert. A bunch of my clients always tell me to go to them so I'm going to make sure you have the best damn coffee and dessert ever," he said, laughing softly. In all honesty he was excited to go; the one thing he and Regina had was that they were really good with talking to each other. "Don't think about standing me up now," he joked, knowing that she wouldn't be the one to leave him hanging. He finished his cup of wine before she topped it off with more wine, "you deserve a stress free couple of hours and we'll make sure that work will be the last thing you're worrying about," he said. He was determined to keep his word too. Even if it was for a couple of hours and they were just going to grab coffee and dessert, he was going to make sure she was going to enjoy it. He didn't know what was going on in her life or if whatever her and Brad had going on was stressing her out, but the point was he was here and he was her friend. Friends were there to make the other one feel better and nothing else mattered.
Mindy couldn't help but laugh at the two talk to one another. From what she was observing, they must be really close, best friends probably. They way they spoke to each other was how she and her best friend would speak to each other. "Well then, I guess I shouldn't keep His highness waiting either," she said jokingly before raising a playful eyebrow at Mike. "Well Braden, again, it was nice to meet you. Hopefully you can join us next time," she said with a friendly smile before turning to Mike, "Let's do this," she said cheerfully before grabbing the board she needed and walking out of the shop first. The nervousness was back in her stomach again and she would like to blame it all on going out to the waters again but she knew that was a lie. She didn't know what it was, but the feeling in her stomach was a little off. The nice thing about his shop was that it was right on the beach, so it was an easy access to walk onto the beach and out to the water. There were a couple of other people out there surfing, while some were simply laying on the beach trying to get tan. Normally she was one of those people relaxing on the beach, but today she was going to be out there with the others and she was praying that she wouldn't make a fool out of herself in front of Mike which she was ninety nine percent sure that it would happen on her first time out there. He was in for a big surprise, that's for sure.

Regina knew that she wouldn't and couldn't stand him up even if she tried. There was just something about Brandon that wanted her to explore what having a date with him would feel like. Maybe that was why she said no to the first one. Maybe she really shouldn't be doing this but she needed to get out and have some fun. He was her friend after all. Okay so maybe they hadn't been friends since the night of the dinner party in which her and Alison had pretty much flew at each other with their words. But he was still her friend. Regina found herself watching him and came to realise that he didn't look anything like Brad at all and maybe that was a good thing. It's weird to think that they could be brothers but be so completely different. Maybe that was like her and Mike. They were twins but they were so different that it was almost impossible for them to be considered twins. Mostly because of the fact that the had different coloured hair. Regina took after their mother, all blonde and cheesy lines but Mike.. No Mike was so like their father, dark haired and so full of life and boy could they both sing. They both had amazing voices... She was then transported back to the present when Brandon said about the fact that she needed a couple of stress free hours and honestly couldn't agree with him more. "That I do" she admitted and gave him a smile.
Mike watched Mindy and Braden laughing and he rolled his eyes. "Yes, let's" he nodded and then pushed Braden back when he started to making kissing movements behind Mindy's back. He was just glad he didn't go with the kissing noises because that would be so awkward. They walked out the shop and was on the sand in no time. That's what he liked about this place because it was on the water. It also meant that there was more people to come in to his shop to get a surfboard. He smiled at a couple of the females that were walking down the beach and then walked out towards the water with Mindy. In honesty he was now starting to worry about this because of he fact that she was indeed Brad's sister and he was probably much better than Mike but Mike had more patience than anyone he knew, even Braden. He hadn't been out on the water this morning so getting out in it now was like falling in love with the water... The most amazing feeling. He looked over at Mindy and gave her a grin before showing her how it was done. Of course they were probably going to have to take it slow but he was confident they would get there in the end.

Brandon smiled when she agreed she needed a few hours to enjoy, "Well i'm glad you agree," he said. Brandon loved having fun and not taking things too seriously. Even though they were brothers,Brandon and Brad were two different people. The only thing that they had in common or that were similar was that one, they were both tall and two, their last name was Hicks. Other than that, they couldn't be more different from one another especially their looks. Sometimes people who didn't know them could tell that they were brothers, but he assumed they were just guessing at that point. It was nice though that others didn't think they were alike. He hated being compared to his brother. And being the little brother sucked, because he always came in second... to everything. Brad, to their parents, was the golden child who could do no wrong in their eyes and even though it annoyed him, he couldn't help but to think that it was true. That was another reason why he distance himself from the whole surfing life. He wanted something for himself and he made a career out of it. And sitting here with his ex-girlfriend and love of his life probably wasn't a good idea, he didn't care how dangerous that could be. He liked being around her and he was definitely still going to take her out tomorrow. Brandon continued to drink the glass of wine she poured for him, it was probably their third,"you know I think you're trying to get me drunk," he jokingly said.
As Mindy made her way to the ocean water with Mike, she watched as a group of girls smiled at him as they walked by. She couldn't help but to smile and shake her head a little. The group of females probably were trying to get his attention, it reminded her of her roommate just a bit too. Just by looking at him, you could tell that he belonged here, that he was a regular here which made sense since he had a surf shop right on the beach. "Well isn't someone Mr Popular around here?" She teased him. Must be a surfer guy thing because it would happen to Brad all the time. One time even some girl thought she was Brad's girlfriend and had gotten really upset only to find out Mindy was actually his sister. It had been hilarious to say the least. Once they got near the water, she let out a deep sigh before gathering herself together. Okay here goes nothing. She knew the basis of it since Brad taught her but to actually be able to stay up without falling...that was the challenge. She took her shorts and tank top so that she was able to put her wetsuit over her bathing suit. She turned so that her back was facing him, "could you zip me up?" She asked as she grabbed her hair and moved it to the side so that he'd be able to zip her up. She bit her lip softly as she looked out to the ocean and watched people take on the waves. People out there were so good, and here she was about to make a fool out of herself. Thank god that Mike was here with her.

Regina smiled at him before pulling her lip in between her teeth. He then teased her, even if it was in a joking way but she definitely knew how to handle moments like that. She had loads of them while in the office. There was a guy in the office by the name of Will and he liked to flirt with her. He really wasn't her type and in honesty she wondered if she really had a type but she told him that he wasn't her type anyway. That didn't seem to stop him from flirting with her though and in honesty she liked it. "Hey, you're the one who brought the bottle" she said and shrugged innocently before she grinned at him. She would love to get drunk but that definitely wasn't going to happen with this case coming up. Regina leaned forward and put her empty glass on the coffee table before she leaned back against the cushions once more. She never thought she would actually see Brandon after she left Cali. Sure he had said about finding her but when did anyone actually keep their promises?
Mike shrugged up a shoulder. He put it down to the fact that he lived here and was just a guy that they saw on the beach all the time. But then again it didn't really matter because he wasn't interested in anyone right now. He didn't need the complication of a relationship. He just needed to have a good time and that was exactly what he was doing. Plus it wasn't like he really noticed anyone anyway, not like Braden who was always chatting someone up. He really did feel for the girl that he ended up with. He put his board down when she asked if he could zip her up. "Sure" he said and walked over to her. She had moved her hair to the side and as he started to do the suit up, he found himself pulling his lip in between his teeth. As he got to the top, his finger brushed against her skin and it was like electricity had gone through him. Her skin was so soft and he found himself wanting to run his hands over her to see if she was soft everywhere. That left him shocked and he stepped back. "Done" he said after a moment and a clearing of his throat. That definitely wasn't something he thought would happen today. He shook his head and moved back to the board he had put down on the sand. The sooner he got out in that water the easier this would be. It would clear his head.

Brandon let out a chuckle and shook his head as she said that he started it by bringing in the bottle in the first place. Okay she had a point but he didn't think they'd have a few glasses,, "touché," he said with a smirk. He looked at the bottle he brought and saw that they were pretty close to finishing it. He didn't even notice it until now but he'd been so wrapped up in their conversation that he didn't even notice how close they were to being done. When she placed her empty cup on the table, he raised his eyebrow slightly, "throwing in the towel already?" He asked her before finishing the content in his glass and setting it down as well. Probably better to stop anyway, he was feeling a little buzz and still needed to get back to his hotel later. He was quiet for a moment before he turned his head to her, "this isn't weird is it? Me being here and all," he asked her. He didn't want her to feel like she had to be nice or feel awkward in the situation since he was her ex's brother after l. In fact he wanted the opposite of that, and he hoped it was just that. They were first and foremost friends after all. He just wanted to make sure that by him being there, it wasn't bringing her negative thoughts or reminding her of him.
Mindy didn't know if she was crazy or not but she had felt a little bit of electricity when touched her skin while he was zipping her up. It must just be the anxiousness and nervousness she was feeling about going into the water...yeah she'll blame it on that. She bit her lip softly as she waited for him to finish zipping her up. After he finished zipping her up, she released her wavy hair and brushed it back so it fell back nicely behind her. She turned to face him and grinned, "thank you, such a gentleman," she teased him before picking up her board and attaching the strap to her ankle. She looked out at the ocean again and then realized that she probably should have took a few shots before coming here. It would have made her a little braver about going out to the ocean. "Okay let's do this before I change my mind," she said before heading into the ocean first. She got out far enough where she could start treading water as she waited for her to come join her and instructed her on what to do. She was in his hands now. Again she wanted to remind him that she hadn't been out on the waters in a while, but he'll see that when he makes her try it out.
