It had been a couple of days since he last saw Regina at his parents' house, where they last said their goodbyes to each other...well sort of. That day had been rough, especially since the day before that day, there had been a big blow out at dinner. Brad's relationship with Allison was still up in the air, he hadn't heard from her since she walked out after her and Regina got into it a little bit. That day was just a big mess. The last thing they spoke about was for her to sign the papers and leave the keys on the table at his parents' house. He had agreed to take care of it for her so that she could go back to New York without having to worry about it. He couldn't face her again, not after how they left things. She had Brandon's jacket, and to this day he still had no idea how she ended up with his jacket. Brad hasn't even seen Brandon since that dinner at his parents either which only raised his suspicion even more about the two of them. He couldn't think about that though, not when he still had to fix things in his life. Things with Allison, handling Regina's apartment for her, and his job- the reason he stayed a year ago instead of going with her to New York. A week ago, his life was perfectly content, yeah maybe a little crazy, but the moment she came back that heartbreak came back. Now here he stood in front of her apartment door, suddenly remembering the old memories they shared in this very place- before finally placing the key in the lock and opening the door. Yeah, there definitely needed to be work done in this place. He was glad Mindy was coming over, she always knew what to do. Having his sister back who had been traveling the world was going to make a big difference in his life. His relationship with her was a lot better than his relationship with Brandon. So to have his sister back and helping him, he was looking forward to it.

Regina knew things were going to be tough with the apartment she just didn't know how tough it would be. This was the first place she had got after moving out of her parents house. They had complained that she wouldn't need the second bedroom, but then Mike said he was moving in with her and for a while they had been roommates and in honesty it had been so much easier to get out of the way of their parents but that was actually before she left for college. Then Mike had taken it over and she had somewhere to go if she ever got home for the weekend.
She loved her little place and the thought of giving it up now really hurt her but now she had got a job at one of the law firms in the City, she didn't need it and Mike had his own place. So really it was sort of a burden. But then Brad had said about taking it on and she was wondering whether or not that would be a good idea but then at least she wouldn't have to sell it to someone who would ruin every memory in this place.
"Thanks for helping me pack some stuff up" Regina finally said to Mike. He had his set of keys still so getting into the apartment had been easy. Her room looked a little bare but at least it would be everything she needed. Some stuff she could store at mike's til she knew what to do.
"It's okay, I've wanted to come over and sort my own stuff out so thanks for keeping some of my crap" he said with a grin before shrugging up a shoulder. In honesty he wanted to make sure that his twin was actually doing okay. He heard about the awkward dinner and the fight with brad's new girlfriend and really he just needed to be there for his sister.

Brad didn't know what to expect when he opened the door. In all honesty, it probably wasn't a smart idea to take the apartment off her hands. It would be filled of memories that he shouldn't even be thinking of anymore, especially since they were no longer together. But the moment she told him she needed to get rid of it, it was just instinct and reflexes that made him take it. He had no idea what he'd do with it since he already had his own place that he shared with Allison, but seeing as what last happened, it probably was a good idea he took the apartment. The last thing he did expect though, was seeing Regina inside the apartment as soon as he opened the door. He froze with his hands on the keys that were still inside of the lock and stood there looking at her for a couple of seconds before realizing she wasn't alone. Her brother Mike was with her too. Brad hadn't spoken to Mike in a while either, he couldn't even remember the last time they spoke. But when he and Regina had been dating, the two of them got along really well. Seeing Regina though, surprised him even more. He assumed she headed back to New York already, so he figured he'd give it a couple of days before coming here so that he didn't run into her. Normally he'd leave but his sister was already on her way here, so maybe he'll wait for her to get here. "Hey," he said to the both of them. "Sorry, I didn't think anyone would be here, I was just coming to brainstorm some redecoration ideas..." He nervously explained. Maybe it was because there was two of them here and last time they left things it was bad, but he felt a little uneasy. This could go well as long as they don't start arguing. "You need some help?" He offered as he took the keys out of the door.

Regina was going to say something to her brother but then the door opened and she came face to face with Brad again. She looked between her own brother and Brad before clearing her throat. "Yeah, sorry I decided at last minute that I wanted some of my stuff and realised that I had given you the key but remembers that Mike still had his so I hope this okay" she muttered the last bit especially when this was actually brad's apartment now but she knew that he wouldn't hold her stuff from her.. Or would he? She didn't know this Brad. They both had changed since she left and it was sad to think that this was a new sort of Brad. She was just glad that Alison was not with him. Brad she could probably handle but not his gobby girlfriend.
"Hey man" Mike said and smiled before he clapped his hand against Brad's. They had got on pretty well when he and Regina was dating but he hoped that they could still be friends. He liked Brad and got along with him much better than anyone else but the last thing he wanted to do was hurt his sister as she was his family and more important right now. He moved his hand through his hair before clearing his throat "I'm just going to.." He grabbed a box and moved passed Brad and out. He was going to put the stuff in the car.
"Oh you're redecorating?" She nodded and then cleared her throat once more. Of course he would. It was his apartment now and probably didn't want to keep her deep reds and purples.

"It's fine, I was just caught a little off guard, here I'll help," he said. Probably better if he helped so it would make the process a lot quicker. Smiling at Mike, he was glad Mike didn't hate him or anything like that. They did get along well when he and Regina were together. Brad even thought to set his little sister up with him one day, but she was dating some other guy that Brad hated so the timing never really worked out. There was another silence before Mike left the two of them...probably to get away from the tension. Well here they stood again, the two of them alone. Once the door closed behind him, he picked up one of the empty boxes and started helping with the things she needed help on. He paused and looked at her when she spoke and he chuckled slightly, "Well it's a little too feminine for me, don't you think?" he asked. "I don't think it would be manly of me if I had an apartment that had purple walls," he said, gesturing to the walls around them and smiled. That would be a little funny, to have him in a girly apartment. His friends and family definitely wouldn't let him live that down. "Besides, I never liked the color in here," he teased, "though it does suit you," he smirked.
"This must be it," Mindy said as she parked her car along the curb. Coming back after a couple of years of traveling the world, she definitely didn't remember a lot of directions. It was practically all new to her. But when Brad called her this morning and asked for some help, she knew she had to help her brother. She had no idea in the world why her brother would take over his ex-girlfriend's apartment, but Brad was Brad, and she never questioned anything he did and she wasn't going to start now. She tried dialing Brad's number, but it seemed like it was off. "Oh I hope this is the place..." the last thing she wanted was to drive to every single apartment and hoping he was there. As she got out of the car, she was going to dial Brad's number again when she saw a guy practically identical to Regina walk out the door. "Oh he's cute," she muttered to herself, "he's definitely not good news." She had her fair share of heartbreaks, and right now, she was focusing on her life and didn't have time for anyone else. "Excuse me," she called out to him, "Is this Brad's- I mean Regina's apartment complex?" she asked him.

Regina couldn't help but smile. "Yes that is true. I did sort of see you wince everytime you looked at the walls" she admitted and then brushed her hair behind her ear as it fell over her face. In honesty she loved the colours of this apartment. There wasn't anything in here that she didn't love with all of her heart and that was why she was boxing up her stuff. Mike said that he would look after it for her until she could take it to New York with her. "I suppose i could always have these colour's in the new place" she nodded and put a book in the empty box before biting down on her lip. They hadn't talked for a while and now she was cursing herself over the fact that she had mentioned the new place.
Mike had been about to put the boxes in the trunk of his car when he heard a voice. He followed it and found that it belonged to a pretty good. She asked if this was Brad then Regina's complex and he looked back towards the door that he had come out before looking at her. "Yeah, it is" he finally answered the question. "But I would be careful because of the fact that Brad and Regina are in there talking and at the moment it's civil but who knows if it's going to stay that way" he said with a slight grimace. He didn't like it when Brad and Regina fought even if it had only been since she came back that they had argued. He loved his sister, but Brad loved her. He was a good guy and he wanted the best for them both, even if they were going to stay apart.

Brad would be lying if he said that hearing her talk about her new place didn't sting a little. Yeah it's been a year or so since she moved, but still thinking about it didn't make him too happy. He knows he should be over it by now and be happy for her but they did share something good so yeah it was still hard for him. But he didn't come here to fight. Not today. Seems like it's all they do and honestly he was burnt out and tired of it. He had to learn to move forward and stop picking a fight with her. As much as it upset him he knew he had to keep it in. He meant it when he told her he wanted her to be happy. So instead he gave her a light smile, "aw why would you do that again to your poor new walls?" He teased. He lifted the finish boxes over towards the door so they they had more room. "What you need to do is paint it like a dark blue color, that's what I'm planning on doing," he grinned, "or better yet leave them alone," he was teasing her of course; giving her a hard time for the color choices.
When he spoke to her, she realized this guy must be Regina's brother. Makes sense since he was carrying some boxes. She's heard about him from Brad, but that was about it. He never told her how good looking he was. "Well let's hope that they're not at each other's throat right now," she said and shook her head. Seems like nothing can go right for them. And she doesn't want to go inside right now anyways. It would probably be awkward for her, especially if they were really arguing. She also didn't want to leave because Brad asked for her to come help him. So now here she was, stuck outside. "You must be Regina's brother," she said, flashing him a smile, "I'm Mindy, Brad's favorite little sister," she joked, even though she was the only sister. She and her brothers were really different from one another. Mindy had a bright and outgoing personality. She always got a long with everyone even though sometimes it could come back and bite her when people take advantage of it. Nonetheless she got along with everyone.

Regina always liked this side of him. He was soft and warm and she could see why she ended up dating him. Dating him... This wasn't what she needed to be thinking about. She needed to get her stuff together and get out of this apartment so that he could move in and do whatever it was. He then said about dark blue and she gasped, turned to him and wrinkled her nose. "You so are not going to paint this apartment dark blue" she pointed her finger at him and then raised her eyebrow. "You can have any other colour but not dark blue, nah uh" she shook her head and then put another book into the box. Then came the photo frame and there was one of her and him. She was laughing and he was looking at her, smiling. She felt her heart tense before she put the picture into the box.
Mike looked over at her and chuckled softly. "Mike, Reginas adorable twin brother" he said with a grin before he shut the trunk up. He was sure there was going to be loads more boxes but he didn't feel like getting anything stolen from the others that lived around here. He put the keys into the front pocket of his jeans before leaning against his car. "They were getting on so maybe it's best to just leave them for a while, plus I doubt it will last and having them together now is the best thing. They might realise just how stubborn they both are, drop the acts and finally get back together" he could only hope, right?

Brad smirked when she said no to the dark blue. He couldn't help but to laugh a little too, he knew she would disagree with that color, "what, it would go really nice with a big flat screen tv!" He protested and laughed. "Way better than that red purple color that you had," he said. He stopped packing the box he had and walked over to one of the walls, "Regina, picture this- dark blue wall over here, a nice big tv, it would make it stand out don't you think?" Oh boys and their TVs to watch sports. "Fine what color do you recommend that's not so girly?" He asked her, crossing his arms while still having the playful smirk on his face. For once it actually felt normal for them right now, like nothing else was wrong. Just the two of them playfully bickering with one another. "You're just saying no because I said I didn't like your wall colors," he said, smirking. "Just admit that my color choice is great!" The two of them were getting along... That's surprising.
"Ah, the adorable twin brother.. Is that what they call you nowadays?" She asked, teasing him lightly. She watched him pack the boxes before closing as he explained to her that it was probably best to leave them alone. She laughed at the last part, "Oh yeah they're both definitely stubborn. They need to realize they're perfect for each other," she said. She loved Brad and Regina together. She definitely understood why Regina moved to New York though, she would've done the exact same thing but that doesn't mean that she agreed with the break up. She wanted them to last but it wasn't her relationship to judge. So she just had to be there for her brother for him to finally be better. "So what am I supposed to do now?" She asked with a sigh, "I was supposed to help Brad redecorate but who knows how long this will take," she shook her head and leaned against her car. "So Mr. Adorable Twin Brother, what are you going to do in the mean time?" She asked jokingly.

Regina rolled her eyes at him. "Men and their sports" she huffed out and put the box down on the couch. That was staying here, there was no way that she was going to get that too mike's apartment plus it was old and tatty so Brad could chuck it. "That is a... Lie" she gasped and then shook her head once more. "You put blue on those walls and I will kick your ass... And no flat screen either" she huffed out before turning her body and looking at him. "Oh I will find a colour that is so perfect that it will knock your socks off" she nodded and then poked him in the chest with her finger. "You can count on that Brad Hicks" this time she smirked before putting her hand on her hips. Oh how it felt nice to actually tease rather than shout at him. She was tired of shouting and sure that the fight had gone out of her anyway.
Mike grinned at her and then put his hands into his pockets. "Hey, I'm only going by what I've been told." In honesty Regina was the oldest by only a couple minutes but she was still the oldest and he was definitely the cutest. "Oh, I don't know, I'm sure I can find something to do" he admitted this time with a smile. A Regina and Brad that got on was like a miracle and he was going to take advantage of that miracle as much as he could. Especially when he liked his sister happy rather than the moping mess she had been in New York and she really was a mess. Regina might've acted like she didn't care but many nights Mike had listened to her crying on the phone. He worried about her, so sometime alone with Brad might do her good.
"I like this" she said after a moment and smiled. "I like it when you're teasing me, it makes me think of times when we were together" she mutters and bit on her lip before grabbing another box.

"What?! No flat screen TV too? Now that's just being cruel," he chuckled. "I can negotiate about the wall color but I am definitely getting a TV. Nothing comes between me and my sports," he said, grinning. "I'll let you kick my ass for that...if you even can," he said jokingly. When she poked his chest, he realized how close they were to one another. If they were still together, he'd just grab her by the waist, pull her to him, and kiss her to shut her up and he'd win the argument. Worked every time for him. But he couldn't do that anymore, not when they were no longer together and it was clear that she was moving on with her life. When Regina mentioned that this moment reminded her of when they were together, he finally snapped back into reality. For a moment, it really did feel like they were still together and happy. She was right though, if they were still together, this was really how they would be right now. "Well you always made it easy," he said lightly, trying to think the best of the situation. He knew that if he said what he really wanted to say, they would just get into an argument right here. "Here, let me help you with that box," he said, grabbing the box she finished and putting it over by the door. Trying to change back the subject to avoid any fights, he looked at the wall again, "I'm not changing my mind about the TV, "What's up with women and being anti-TV.. Alison wouldn't let me get one either," he said, shaking his head, not meaning to mention her but it was true.
As cute as Mike was, she could see trouble written all over him. He was a charming guy, she figured that out off the bat and she knew she had to be careful. Not like she was thinking that far out anyways since she recently got out of a relationship, but she had to admit that she liked talking to him so far. Not much was said but off the bat, he was charming. He could see why girls would like him. He probably had all the girls chasing after him. Nope, she wasn't going to be one of them...that's what she'll keep telling herself. Mindy was a smart girl, she knew how to handle herself, and she was capable of being careful. But that didn't mean she couldn't make a new friend. "There's a bar down the street, wanna go? Unless you would like to go back in there and deal with the two of them and their crazy life," she scrunched her nose up at the thought of having to be in that awkward situation. It must be going well since one of them hasn't come out here yet and Brad hasn't called her to see where she was. Maybe they finally realized that they're meant to be.

Regina raised her eyebrow. In honesty she had thought about getting a flat screen tv too but that never worked out for her so she was glad because knowing her she would end up selling that to him too and then he really would be happy. She scoffed when he said about letting her kick his ass if she could. "I'll have you know, Buddy," she poked his chest again. "I'm pretty sure that I can kick your ass" she nodded once and that meant the end of the discussion. She then smiled when he said about making it easy.
Regina opened her mouth to say something when he said about helping her with the box and she handed it over before looking around the room. It was starting to look so lonely and that made her feel sad inside because it meant that all of her stuff would soon be out of this place and it would all be forgotten. She couldn't help but wonder if she was starting to have second thoughts... But no, she had a life in New York and back there she was going, especially when she already had a job in one of the top law firms. He said about Alison and she cleared her throat. "It's because women likes attention and when a man has a flat screen.. that attention goes out the window"
Mike looked towards the apartment door before back at Brad's sister. In honesty he thought she was pretty but the last thing he needed was to get involved with another girl. He had had his fair share of crazy women and the last thing he wanted was to date Mindy and find out they were crazy too. She was pretty though. He bit on his lip and raised his eyebrow when she said about going to the bar down the street before he smiled. "Maybe for just one" he admitted with a nod and then leaned off his car. He really should be looking out for Regina but the last thing he needed to do was walk in on them arguing because no doubt they would both yell at him to get out so might as well leave them alone to get on with it and after one drink then he could come back and start getting Regina's stuff back into the car.

Brad smirked at her comment, "Woah woah, that may be true for some other guys, but I am very good at giving attention!" Brad may love his sports but when a woman needs attention, he'll give it to them. Before he even started dating Regina, Brad was a real charmer, something that ran in the Hicks family. He was the kind of guy that broke hearts, but when he met Regina, his life changed around. Funny how one person can change your life. He picked up one of the empty boxes and started to help her pack some of the books she had on the shelves. "So when do you leave?" He asked her quietly. As much as he didn't want to hear the answer, he was curious. She had a new life to go back to, a life that he no longer was a part of. He didn't know if this would be the last time he'd be seeing her since the apartment was really the only thing she had left and she had signed it over to him. He thought she'd already be back in New York, but here they are. "Do you ever plan on coming back to visit...Mike or so?" He asked.
Mindy smiled when he agreed to go to the bar. She could tell he was a little hesitant, but she assumed it was because he was worried about his sister. Both Brad and Regina have things to work out. Both of them had a lot bottled inside so hopefully they're communicating with each other. She was worried about her brother too, but she knew he could over come a lot, especially now having to deal with Alison too. She never liked that girl anyways. "They'll be fine, I know my brother still loves her even though he won't admit it, so talking to her will do him some good,"she said as she ran her hand through her hair. It was true, maybe what they needed was closure. "One drink...? I don't bite," she teased. The bar was walking distance so they would be able to walk there instead of having to drive. "Maybe what we need is a couple of drinks before we go back to them," she said, smiling.

She smiled at the comment "I know you do but maybe Alison doesn't know" she shrugged up a shoulder. This apartment had been her safe haven after moving out of her parents house. More than anything she had needed that. Her parents were... Suffocating when it came to their children so having her apartment was the only way she could get away from them. Regina put some more stuff into another box and then looked over at Brad when he asked if she would ever come back. "Not for a while, I mean I'm going to be busy with work and I know what he will come out and see me especially when he can stay away from his twin sister for five minutes" hell he had Skyped with her for hours just making sure that she was okay... But that would be hours a night and when she had to be up early in the mornings it was hard to stay awake. "Plus if I do it will only be a flying visit and I can Skype with him so it'll be okay" she didn't even tell him that Brandon planned to come out and see her. That would just be awkward. Then she realised that she hadn't answered his question about when she was flying back out. "In a few days. I have to tie up some ends and then I'll be out of here"
Mike glanced back at the door. When he didn't hear anyone coming out of it he knew it would be safe to leave the apartment complex behind and started to walk with Mindy. His hands still in his pockets. "I think you're trying to get me drunk.." He said with a raised eyebrow and wondered if his features were giving away the grin that do wanted to cross his mouth right now. "I hope you aren't planning to take advantage of me while I'm being a helpful brother to my sister" he tried to hold the grin away but this time he could help it and he had to laugh at her. "I think I can stretch it to a couple of drinks and that really will have to be all because I have to get the stuff back to my apartment and knowing how much stuff Regina has its going to take me all night and I have to be up in the morning for work" he then licked his lip. "Do you work?"

Brad figured that she wouldn't come back here for a while to visit. Deep down a part of him wanted to hear that she'd come back to visit, but she was right. The only person she would need to visit was her brother, there was no other reason for her to come back and according to her, she and her brother could simply Skype. And Brad knew he shouldn't expect her to but there was that small part of him that he wasn't sure why he wanted her to stay. "Must be nice living in the big city huh, got what you've always wanted," he said to her. He remembered what they used to talk about when they were together and remembered how she said she always dreamt about living in the city. They never really talked about what would happen if it really would happen, so when it did happen, he decided to stay, and she decided to go. When she walked out of those doors, he always thought it was just a fight and she really wouldn't leave. It had been a really heated argument that ultimately ended their relationship and now she was going to go again.
Mindy smirked and rolled her eyes at his comment, but she burst out into laughter too. "Oh you caught me, yeah definitely trying to get you drunk so I can have my ways with you," she said sarcastically and jokingly. "I'll only be good for a couple of drinks anyways, my tolerance isn't too high." She zipped up her jacket since it was a little windy and cold outside on their walk to the bar. "I do work, I'm a nurse," she said, smiling brightly. "I traveled for the last two years though but I did get to learn some things for work all around the places I travelled to," she shoved her hand into her pocket. She loved working in the medical world, the fact that she could make someone's day a lot better only made her love her job so much more. Of course it had its down days and sometimes it made her sad, but she loved what she did and wouldn't trade it for anything. "What about you? Do you work?" she asked. "Aside being the adorable twin brother, obviously," she said with a smirk.
