She stepped into the food place and pushed her sunglasses up to the top of her head. Her brown eyes scanned the room. It was pretty busy so she would be lucky to find a table. She cleared her throat and then actually found a table before moving towards it. It was definitely much cooler in here than it was outside. God she knew that summer was on the way. Her dark hair up in a bun at the top of her head, to keep the hair off her neck. She sighed and looked over the menu. It was the same as everyday, but she couldnt help looking it over. Once Lexi had given in her order she sat back and looked around the Grill once more. She saw her brother and waved to him, before smiling up at the waiter who had brought her drink. "Thanks" she said softly before taking a sip of the cold soda. That felt so much better.

Jacob dropped the towel that had been tossed over his shoulder onto the counter. He cleared his throat as he wiped away a ring of water on the wooden bar. While he was still trying to wrap his hand around the fact that he was the one bar tending this lousy diner even though he wasn't even the legal age to drink, he couldn't help but like the view from here. His eyes drifted over the girl leaning over the pool table. She wasn't half-bad.

Lexi looked around the Grill once more and then went back to her drink. This was what happened when friends went away on vacation. She was stuck in Corpus Christi and it was.. boring. Sure they had a beach and all the rest but once you lived here most of your life.. there wasnt really much to do. She bit on her lip and then saw her brother once more and got up from her seat, grabbing her drink and sitting at the bar. "So guess what?" "Let me guess you've run out of money, mom's not home. Ryan wont help you out and you really want to buy the top that you've seen in the shop window.. am I close?" Lexi smirked. "How did you guess?" she said sarcastically before rolling her eyes. "No I wasnt going to say that actually"

Jacob moved his eyes away from the blond girl --was she blond?-- when he saw someone moving to the bar out of the corner of his eyes. An automatic eye roll was produced at first glance of the dark haired girl. Just what he needed. Jacob turned his back to her and her older brother, pretending to be completely interested in a dirty glass.

"I was wondering if I could borrow the Charger tonight. I have somewhere that I want to go and seeing as mom is using the car and Ryan really doesnt have one.. I was hoping that maybe you would be an awesome brother and let me borrow your car" she smiled softly at Deano and then pushed her eyebrows together when he laughed. "Oh you were being serious" he said and then leaned forward. "Over my dead body" "That can be arranged" she smirked and then took a sip of her drink. "Please Deano.. I really want to use the car" "Get your own" Deano grabbed a glass and started to clean it.

"Richards!" A loud voice shouted. Jacob closed his eyes and sighed. He turned towards the incredibly shrill sound and looked down at the petite, black haired woman. For such a small lady, she had a really loud voice. "Yeah." He huffed, tossing the towel back down. "You mind paying attention to the customers?" She pointed to the portly man sitting a little ways down the bar. "Right on it."

Lexi looked up when she heard the name being called out and she pushed her eyebrows together. Jake? He worked here? She bit on her lip and then looked down at the bar. Sadly the last time she had seen him was when she had said it was over. Not even giving him a chance to change her mind. She cleared her throat and looked up at her brother and smiled softly. "You alright?" "Great.. so Charger tonight?"

Jacob refilled the man's glass, half-bored, and watched Lexi out of the corners of his eyes. He still didn't know how he was supposed to feel about the situation. Was he supposed to be pissed? Sad? Downright devastated? All he knew was that he had been looking at her longer than he probably should have been. He cleared his throat and diverted his attention away, sliding the glass across the bar to the man.

"I need the Charger for tonight so you're going to have to find away to getting to the place you need to be" he said and then smiled at the girl who had brought Lexi's food out before looking back at his sister. "Enjoy your meal" he smirked and then walked out from behind the bar and grabbed the dirty plates and glasses. "Yeah thanks" Lexi grumbled and then grabbed the sauce before putting sauce on her burger and fries then tucking into them. Greasy food, it made everything better.

Jacob turned away from the man who was drinking well before what was socially acceptable, and walked the short distance to the sink where he quickly washed his hands. He glanced over when Deano disappeared into the crowd of people playing pool.

Lexi moved her eyes from her food to the back of Jake. She bit on her lip gently and caught herself checking him out. This really was bad. She sighed and shook her head before clearing her throat. "Can I get another drink?" she asked to anyone in particular. Lexi looked up and down the bar. Sadly it was only Jake who was there. Now she wished she hadn't said anything.

Jacob swore softly under his breath. He glanced to his left and right, hoping that someone was going to jump in and grab her order. Unfortunately, it seemed as if they had all scattered at the perfect time. He sighed heavily and turned back towards her. "What can I get you?" He asked, trying to be as polite as he possibly could.

"I'll have a beer" she teased and then cleared her throat when it looked as if he didnt share the same joke anymore. Lexi sighed and then pushed her glass towards him. "I'll just have a coke please" For the first time in ages, she wished that her brother was actually around to take the heat away from the lack of conversation that her and Jake seemed to be having now.

He took the glass from the counter, half tempted to actually give her a beer. The beer here wasn't exactly that great, and definitely not worth the price. He filled the glass with the coke she ordered and slid it back across the bar towards her. "That all?"

Lexi watched the glass slide back towards her and then she looked up at Jake. She opened her mouth to say something but it seemed to come out as air. She sighed once more and took a sip of her drink before clearing her throat again. "Look, I know I'm not your favourite person right now, but.. I'm sorry"
