Teresa watched as he shoved the papers about the she-bear onto the floor and she couldn't help but let a smile pull at her lips while at the same time trying so hard to contain the smile but it was futile. She cleared her throat before crossing one arm over her chest and letting the elbow of the rest on her hand before she pulled at her lips. People would probably say she was crazy for going to Greece with Barton especially when she hardly knew him but who else would go and at the moment she really could use the money. She pushed her lips out slightly when he asked her when she wanted to go to Greece, especially when Donovan would've said they hopped on the next plane out of the US and headed straight for Greece. "Well I have to make sure that Lexi really is okay with me doing this and then I have to get her to forward anything from my boyfriend, should he call so maybe tomorrow is better plus I've already done enough travelling to this place" she admitted and then nodded. Teresa needed to put the proper precautions in place so that she would be able to slip out of Texas without anyone really noticing. Especially Jo and Chris. Lexi was easy because she know where she was going but her parents were another thing and then there was Graeme. But what he didn't know couldn't really hurt him, right? Either way she was going to be doing this. She would take the consequences, if any, when she got back from Greece. She just had to remember that it was for work and not for pleasure and a holiday. Although if they got finished early then maybe she could have a bit of fun in Greece.. Teresa was now getting ahead of herself but either way she was going to be with him doing this job. "Tomorrow sounds fine with me" she nodded and smiled softly. Plus she could do with a night of beer and pizza with a complete stranger. Barton just seemed to fit that bill right now and for the first time in a long while. She wasn't worried about having someone new in her life, even if it might just be a short friendship.

"Tomorrow works." He replies with a nod. To be honest, anything with a twelve hour or more time span to get ready works. Steve might be the kind of guy who gets a mission and is on it before you can recite the Pledge of Allegiance, but Barton liked beauty sleep. More than that, he liked eating, drinking, and crapping in the comfort of his own home before having to spend what was no doubt going to be a fourteen hour flight in a metal tube thirteen thousand feet in the air. Besides, it let Donovan marinate in his own annoying bureaucratic juices for a little while longer. That was always a plus. And it also gave him time to remember that this girl was going to need gear. Actual gear. Not high heels and a leather jacket. Something she can move and work and fight in. TV might make looking good over functional look convincing, but no one, not even Natalia, could fight in six-inch heels and skinny jeans. That was a good way to trip and land face first on the firing end of a gun. He didn't have much longer to think on the subject, as the doorbell rings mid-thought in a trio of chirps throughout the house. Lucky gives a happy bark and launches to his feet, rushing towards the door before Barton even has a chance to stand straight. "Pizza's here." He tells Teresa as he rounds the counter. "Beers are in the fridge. Take your pick. There's like...thirty of 'em." He steps towards the door where Lucky is already excitedly waiting, tale wagging back and forth and his one good eye looking impatiently up at Barton. "Alright, alright." He murmurs around a smile, and yanks the door open. A teenage boy is gaping on the other side, and continues to do so even after Barton hands him the money to pay for the three pizzas and nudges the door closed with a hip. Lucky follows him all the way back to the kitchen, nose pointed to the scent trailing behind.

Teresa nodded when he said that tomorrow worked. Good, she was going to have to make sure that she had everything in place before she hopped on a plane to Greece especially when she had driven here in the first place. Lexi would no doubt look after the stuff that she had brought with her, like her car and anything else that she had brought. Her cell was going to be staying with her just in case she had to get in touch with Lexi herself. Her thoughts were then pushed away when Barton said that the pizza was there. Teresa heard her stomach growl and she was actually thankful for the fact that the food was here. She looked over at Barton when he said about the beers being in the fridge and smiled softly. For the first time in a long while she actually felt content, she felt her shoulders deflate a bit from the edge that she had had all day and just wanted to sit back with a pizza and a beer and just have some fun. Even if that fun was going to be with Barton. She watched him move out the kitchen and smiled softly once more before she turned to the fridge and sighed. There definitely was thirty beers. She scoffed before shaking her head and grabbing two out and opening up before shutting the door with her hip, just in time for Barton to come back into the kitchen. Teresa took a sip of her beer and then held Barton's up. "I got you one out too" she admitted and then looked at the pizza boxes he had in his hands and heard her stomach growl once more. God, she was more hungry than she had thought she would be. Although the last thing she had eaten that morning was a donut and even that didn't seem to touch anything. So it felt good to actually eat. "So, we eating in your kitchen or we going somewhere else?" she asked and looked over at Barton before putting the beer bottle back down on the counter. In honesty she didn't mind where they actually ate just as long as she got some food in her stomach. Of course she was going to pay for her part of the pizza but she wasn't going to say that to him straight away.

Another smile found its way to Barton's lips when he saw the second beer left for him. Maybe this was the start of a good friendship after all. Archer? Check. Likes pizza? Check. Gets him beer? He sets the boxes of pizza onto the counter to reach for the bottle. Two minutes out of the fridge and condensation is already beading on the side of the glass. He twists off the cap with his bare palm and allows himself a long swallow. Check. "Oh, uh..." He begins in response to her question, only now remembering that they were actually going to have to go somewhere in his surprisingly uncluttered -for once- house to eat. Generally, when it was just him and Sam, they'd pick up a slice and carry it wherever they ended up. Lucky was always happy cleaning up the crumbs behind them. "I guess living room works." He nods, setting the bottle of beer back down onto the counter and moving to grab a couple plates. Might as well keep up the appearances of a civilized person. "C'mon." He leads her down the hall to the nice, sprawling living room; complete with sinfully comfortable couches, a huge flat-screen TV, and a coffee table just right for stacking the boxes of pizza and setting the plates down. He drops down heavily onto the cushions of the love seat, and flips open the first box. Steam rises into the air, and Lucky is practically drooling a foot away. No. He's actually drooling. "I got a cheese, a pepperoni, and a veggie lover." Barton explains, claiming a slice of pepperoni for himself. Sam likes real Italian, fancy pizza with names straight from Don Corleone's book of recipes, but Barton grew up in Iowa with two bucks in his pocket. Decent tomato sauce was fancy enough for him.

So Teresa was going to see other parts of his house just to prove that he didn't have just a kitchen and a range in his basement. She grabbed the beer and follows after him down the hall. She looked around the room and raised her eyebrow. Wow this definitely was a nice living room. Even she had to admit that this house was nicer than her apartment back in Mystic. For her and Graeme it was just perfect. They had left the spare room as it was especially when she hadn't actually slept it in. The first thing she had done when moving in was crash out on Graeme's bed and left all of her stuff in the spare room. But this. This was a nice house and she was completely jealous when it came to this place. She watched as he dropped down onto the love seat and then inhaled the smell from the pizza box. Teresa nearly dropped her beer but that was the last thing she wanted to do. So she set the beer down on the table before opening the other boxes. A smile pull at her lips and she grabbed a plate before grabbing a slice of cheese pizza. She didn't care which one she ate just as long as she had something to eat and right now this was the best she was probably going to get. She took a seat before taking a bite of the pizza. God, this tasted good and after a long journey from Connecticut to Texas she needed something that tasted good. She looked over at Barton and gave him a smile before going back to her pizza slice. Teresa was so hungry that she was sure that Lucky wasn't even going to see any of the pizza. She looked in the direction of the dog and couldn't help but smile once more. He was drooling over the fact that they were eating pizza. She was sure that if she could've then she would be huffing out a laugh right now but she was too busy eating and the last thing Teresa wanted to do was ruin the pizza.

Teresa is already digging in before Barton even takes his first bite. He raises his brows and chews as he watches her eat like this is the first pizza she's had in years. That's probably what he looked like after every mission. Except she looked far less run down than he ever did. Even now, with the tape over the bridge of his nose and around his wrist and a few of his fingers, he no doubt looked like a wreck and she looked straight out of a commercial advertising pizza and pretty women at the same time. No wonder Lucky seemed apt to want to follow her around already. Though the dog always was a flirt. Barton holds out his slice of pizza towards the shaggy dog, and Lucky doesn't hesitate to chomp down on the drooping, melted cheese happily, nearly taking Barton's fingers in the process. Lucky might like girls, but he likes pizza better. Barton wipes his hand off on his jeans before reaching for another slice for himself, while Lucky contently gnaws on his prize. "So you sure about this?" He asks as he folds the pizza lengthwise and lifts it towards his mouth. "Going to Greece?" He clarifies before taking a bite. He didn't even need to mention that they were still complete strangers to one another. And running off to fight what was no doubt an awful monster didn't exactly seem like the best way to get to know one another. Even if it had worked for him and Nat. He chews as he waits for an answer, swigging another swallow of beer to wash the pizza down.

Teresa looked in Barton's direction when he asked if she was sure. She pushed her eyebrows together and then heard the rest of the question. She waited til she had finished eating before she finally said. "Yeah, of course" she admitted. She bit on her lip and then looked down at the crust before she handed it over to Lucky and scratched the dog behind the ear before putting her dark eyes on Barton. "I mean, sure, we don't really know each other but it's not like we're getting married" she muttered and shrugged up a shoulder. It might sound silly but it was true though. It was a mission and if he had her back then she had his and that was the most important bit. That they had each other's back if anything went wrong. "Unless of course you would rather do this on your own.." she said and smiled slightly before reaching over and grabbing another slice of pizza. This tasted more and more better with each bite. Teresa grabbed her beer and took a gulp of it before tucking into the new slice of pizza. Again she was going to have to make sure that she had everything in place so that no one would really question her absence and she was hoping that Lexi would actually help her out with that. Then she would have to make sure that it never got back to her dad. But there was 10k and she could really use the money. Teresa swallowed what she was eating before turning back to look at Barton once more. "You could always take Lexi" she teased before huffing a soft laugh out. "She's not any good with a bow but she'll have your back" she nodded before taking another bite of the slice. This really was good. Pizza never tasted this good in Mystic and she was jealous of something else. God, she was missing out on so many things by living in a small town. It might be a small town but there was definitely bit problems. But that was for the others to sort out not her. She was taking a break from the town and everyone in it. Her dad hadn't rang yet so that was good and she definitely hadn't got a call from anyone saying that something had happened to Graeme so maybe her dad would go easy on the guy while she wasn't in town. Teresa scoffed. This was Scott Atwood she was taking about and he despised Graeme so of course he wouldn't go easy on the guy. They had been at war since before she was born.

Barton pulls the lip of the bottle slowly from his mouth as she speaks, a tease lacing her words. No, getting married was something else entirely. Getting married usually didn't kill you -usually- and could be far less permanent. And besides, you could marry someone you met a week ago and only have the divorce papers to panic over. Trusting someone, someone you met only half a day ago, to keep you alive was an entirely different story. Barton could fall in love in a day. Trusting someone took time. Trusting someone took experience. Trusting someone took proof. And yet he was willing to let this girl, this inexperienced girl, tag along on a hunt that was dangerous enough to be worth a payoff of ten grand. Maybe he was getting soft with age. Or maybe he saw more in this girl than his brain had yet to catch up on. He takes another swig from the bottle before setting it onto the coffee table, Lucky watching his hand the entire way as if the beer was likely to turn into another slice of pizza for him. "I've done plenty of jobs on my own," He admits, a slight smile tugging at one corner of his mouth. "Kinda gets boring." Mostly because jobs actually went a little smoothly on his own. Not saying that he didn't get his ass handed to him more than once, or that problems didn't rise up. But without partners, there was no bickering, no spontaneous moves, no one to keep him company on late-night stakeouts, no one to hog the fight. People added troubles, and flavor, and plenty of hilarity that never seems funny at the time. "I'll leave team-ups with Lexi for Sam." He smirks a little. Not that he didn't like Lexi, but he already knew that that would end up with snapping teeth and stinging slaps that didn't involve monsters. They got along, but not well enough to tolerate each other for that long of a time period. Especially without a buffer. "I just want you to be sure." He tells her as he bites off another chunk of pizza; cheese pulling between his mouth and the slice. He wipes the back of his mouth with his hand. "Missions like this...they aren't local teenage werewolves getting dog hair all over their basketball uniforms. This is...real...monster movie shit."

Teresa leaned back in her seat before looking over at him as he spoke. "A lot of things can be boring" she admitted and then nodded before looking towards the TV. For some reason her eyes didn't really see the TV, she was staring away into space but her ears were still picking up on what he was saying. She then huffed out a laugh when he said about leaving team ups with Lexi to Sam. "To be honest her mother doesn't want this life for her" she admitted and then looked over at him. "This was one life that she didn't want any of her children to have but it seems as if Lexi has other plans and all because of a guy" she huffed out and then shook her head. "Well, I suppose, it wouldn't be the first crazy idea that she had involving a guy" she lifted her shoulder in a shrug before sitting forward and grabbing her beer bottle. Teresa then heard what he said after and she turned and looked at him before smiling slightly. "I'm sure and trust me, I know a bit about local teenage werewolves" she muttered and took a gulp of her beer. She knew more that she ever wanted to think about. It seemed as if she had attracted supernatural things to her. She sat back in her seat before putting her eyes on Barton once more. It would only be this one job then she would go back to enjoying summer in Corpus and then head back to Connecticut before college started back up. Teresa pulled her lip in between her teeth and waited for a moment before she started to talk once more. "I have your back, I promise" she said and kept her brown eyes on his face. She wasn't going to let him down when it came to that promise.

Barton didn't know anything about Lexi's mother's intentions. Didn't know anything about Lexi's plans, or the guys who have changed that. But Teresa's words cause a smirk to form on his mouth anyway. Ah, Sam. The dog. Though of course, there wasn't really anything official between Sam and Lexi, other than a few lingering smiles and looks that were far too pleasant to be platonic. Sam had admitted nothing, even when Barton had asked him seriously, only giving the famous shrug that always meant, in every case, I like the hell out of her but I'm too much of a doofus to admit it. So it wouldn't really surprise Barton if Lexi was sticking around just for Sam. It certainly wasn't for Barton's ruggedly handsome good looks. "I'm not worried about you having my back." Barton admits, shaking Lexi and Sam's love affair out of his mind and focusing on the real issue. He'd fought on his own plenty of times to rely only on himself in crisis situations. Backup was always good, in fact it was great, but it wasn't his tail she needed to concern herself with. "I've jumped headfirst into shitty situations plenty of times before to know it sucks." He tells her, reaching for his beer. Lucky is still watching him closely. "This isn't going to be easy." He shrugs one of his shoulders. Even for him. Maybe he should forgo this one and just stick to the she-bear. Or do some routine S.H.I.E.L.D cleanup and pin her on people rather than unidentified monsters. People were just as unpredictable, but were usually about ten times lazier. They had to create beasts to be of any real consequence.

Teresa watched him and kept quiet for a moment. Listening to his worries, if that's what they are. It was better to be honest with him. She cleared her throat and put her beer bottle back down on the table. "I come from a town that is a hot bed for the supernatural" she admitted. "I've seen things that have changed the way that I think and feel about things" she muttered and looked down. "I've been told that I would make this great person but in honesty I want to do what I believe in doing" she put her eyes on Barton this time and said "I'm no hunter but I'm not stupid when it comes to the world." Teresa knew the dangers of hunting, she knew that it had almost destroyed Jo and it was destroying her father and it killed her mother, it had killed Lexi's father too and everyone that Jo ever loved. "I'm not going to stand up and stamp my feet until you give in to what I want" she shook her head. "I'm not the kind of girl who would do that because I know you don't want to put my into a shitty situation so I'm going to let you decide whether we go to Greece or not" she nodded and then reached for a slice of pizza. She pushed her lips together before clearing her throat and taking a bite of the pizza slice. She knew someone that would actually stand there and stamp their feet until they got what they wanted but like she said, that wasn't her. If he didn't want to take her into Greece then that was completely fine with her. It was his choice when it came to these things. "But.." she muttered after swallowing what she was eating "Just to put it back out there, I haven't seen Greece before" she nodded once more before she went back to her pizza slice. Teresa was going to leave it at that. Again if he didn't want to take her into Greece then that was fine. She was sure there were other things that they could find or rather that Donovan would find for Barton to go and kill or whatever he did. She really did need to find out what he actually did, although she was sure that it wouldn't change her mind about doing it.

Barton rests his elbows upon his knees as she speaks to him, attempting to convince him that she was prepared for this sort of thing. He didn't doubt that she could handle it, considering she was doing well to handle him so far, but the seriousness of this seems lost on her. Monsters were one thing. Living in a town full of them was one thing. When a monster comes knocking on your door, it was a different kind of thinking, a different kind of tactic. All defense and option weighing. Hunting, even, was something entirely different than what he was discussing. Hunting was messy and violent because of stupidity. It consisted of a band of people with minimal weapons training and a grudge that didn't care for whoever got into its way. Whatever images either of those situations was putting into place in her mind, was nothing like the reality of the job just waiting for them in Greece. This was the Navy SEALS of monster hunting. This was the business of superheros in a world that wasn't so super. The She-Bear was a joke, he was convinced of it, but whatever was happening in Greece wasn't. But Barton just shrugs his shoulders and reaches back for his beer, saying none of this. If she goes, she'll find out sooner rather than later. "Come if you want." He tells her, raising the beer into the air and swishing the drink around in the base of the bottle. "I'm going whether you do or not." He admits with a small smile before downing a swallow.

Teresa sat there and bit on her lip. In honesty she wanted to do this. Hell she had pretty much begged him to let her go so why would she turn her back and decide that she didn't want to go after all? She cleared her throat but that didn't clear her thoughts at all. Maybe she was tired from the journey and everything was starting to catch up with her and now everything was starting to come all at once. She nodded when he said that he was going to go with or without her. "I think.." she muttered and then raised her hand up to her face and used the palm of her hand to rub at her eye. "That I need some sleep and.." she looked down at her cell and raised her eyebrow. How the hell had it go so late? "It's late" she huffed and then shook her head before looking up at Barton. Teresa remembered telling Lexi that she would be flying into Corpus and her cousin had practically yelled at her and told her under no circumstances was she to fly and then added on that she would need her bow and arrows and to get to Corpus Christi as fast as she could. In honesty that invitation had really saved her from going bored in Mystic over the summer. Mystic was a small town but there wasn't much to do especially when you had done it all over the last however many summers that you had been there for. She had wanted to have a change and Lexi's phone call had come just when she needed it. Maybe that was her own power, maybe she could read minds even from miles away. That thought made Teresa smile and she looked down. "I'm sure that you will enjoy the rest of the pizza" she teased before moving her brown eyes up and over to Barton. "Or maybe Lucky could have the slices" she nodded before pulling her lip in between her teeth. It had been fun training with Barton and she definitely needed to do it again. But for tonight, she just needed a shower and bed before she actually crashed out on Barton's couch. That would be the most awkward thing to tell Lexi especially when Teresa was sure that she wouldn't believe her if she told the truth.

At the sudden reminder that they had been down in the range for nearly three hours, Barton looked down at his own cell that he yanked from his pocket to check the time as well. It was nearly midnight, and he hadn't even noticed. "Right. Yeah." Barton replies, a little bewildered that the time had passed so freely. It had a way of doing that when he was in Corpus Christi and not on mission. When he was elsewhere, it was almost as if he couldn't escape each ticking second; constantly aware of the number of minutes or hours or days that had passed. When he was here, the only thing to remind him that there was such a thing as time was the Friends marathons playing on TV. More days than he could count were spent eating dinner at breakfast, and sleeping all the way through lunch. His schedule was constantly fucked. "Don't get him too excited." Barton titters around a smile when Lucky's head suddenly jumps up from his paws, ears perked and a line of drool already forming at the corner of his mouth. Barton scratched behind the dog's ear before rising to his feet, intent on at least walking her to the door. He might not necessarily be the definition of a gentleman -with a bandage across his nose and the vocabulary of a sailor- but at least he had some manners. Some. Please and thank yous still eluded him. "So I guess I'll talk to you later?" He says as they move out of the living room towards the front door. He turns his blue eyes towards her for confirmation. Either way, whether she rejects the offer or continues to dive in headfirst, he assumed he'd be seeing her again. Barton had a feeling Lexi would make sure of that. As long as this didn't turn into an arranged marriage, he was fine with that. Barton reaches out with a hand to open the door for her, and he leans a little against it as she makes her way out.

Teresa chuckled when he told her not to get Lucky too excited about the pizza. She stood up and reached into her pocket to grab the keys to her Charger sitting outside of his house. She then remembered that she had brought her bow and arrow and moved over to grab it off the table. In honesty this had been fun. Sure he might've got her a bit competitive but that was all part of the fun. She grabbed some money from her pocket and put it down before putting her finger to her lips so that Lucky didn't say anything, she scratched him behind the ear and let him lick her. Teresa chuckled before moving over to the door and moved out of it with Barton. She felt his blue eyes on her and she bit down on her lip before clearing her throat. "No doubt we will magically come across each other again" she teased before nodding. Lexi had a way of making sure that she got what she wanted and right now that seemed to be putting Teresa in contact with Barton. She wanted to blast herself for making it so easy for Lexi. She stepped out of the door and onto the step before she turned and looked at him. "You know," she started and looked around. "This is actually the most fun I've had in the last few months" she admitted and nodded before looking at him. "Mystic pretty much sucks when you're trying to hide yourself away from your old friends and family" she muttered and then held up her keys. "Goodnight Barton" she smiled before stepping away from his door and moving over to the car. Teresa put her bow and arrows back into the trunk before heading to the driver's side and getting in. IF she timed it just right then she could get home before Lexi made it through the door. God, she wanted to make it through that front door before Lexi got home because she wasn't sure she could handle the teasing that she would get over spending the evening and dinner with Barton. The first time she had come to Corpus, after Graeme had left, Lexi had tried to set her up with Roman. Little did she know that there had been something there. A smile pulled at her lips before she drove away from Barton's house.
