Teresa watched him and then sighed. "You're definitely not a spy because you're a terrible liar" she muttered at him. She scoffed and then looked around the room once more. "I think to be honest Lexi probably had a bit of deciding on that too" she admitted. Lexi was no angel, which made Teresa want to laugh because of the fact that she had angel blood in her system. But if Lexi wanted something badly then she was going to go ahead and do it, whether anyone liked it or not. But if Sam wanted her in the group then there definitely had to be a reason. Maybe they were closer than Lexi had said that they were. But that was hardly relevant right now. Teresa nodded when he started talking again. "Wow.." she muttered. God, even what he had said made vampires and werewolves seem like Kings and Queens, even if the ones that wanted to rip people apart were far from it. Now Teresa was starting to see why Lexi kept hinting about being Barton's side kick. She knew about the supernatural just as much as Lexi did and maybe even in her own way could help out but more than that she wasn't sure how she would fit into this little group that her cousin had found herself in. She moved one hand up and scratched at her cheek before she scoffed. "Well those definitely do cause threats" she then squinted an eye and tried not to think about how lame that actually sounded to her. God, she needed to say better things than that. "Anything else you want to tell me, you better do it now because I'm on a roll for listening" she admitted and crossed her arms back over her chest. If she wasn't so well known with everything supernatural then she would've probably thought that he was completely insane. That Lexi was insane to bring her into the fold, if that's what she was doing. But it was actually kinda amazing to know that there was some people out there that weren't like ordinary hunters. That didn't hunt down everything because they had killed a family member or whatever it was hunter's blamed the supernatural for doing.

Barton raised a brow at her comment about his lying skills. She'd known him for about five minutes and she was already criticizing his lying skills. Ah, who cares. It was true. If he was a good liar, maybe he would have grown up the way Natalia did. Instead, Barton had grown up in front of an audience. And talking hadn't been the way he'd made a show. You could pick pockets without saying a word. "Yeah you're telling me," He replies, picking up his mug of coffee and downing a few swallows. The leviathan had been about the size of a battleship, swarming out of the ocean with an head-rattling screech. It had taken a lot of sweat and blood to take that damn thing down, and with a sea monster that size there had been no chance of merely putting it into holding. Even Seaworld wasn't big enough for that damn thing. Bucky had nearly lost his other arm. As for the Mayan goddess? She was in a cell somewhere yelling out ancient curses to no one and trying to bite off the hands of the S.H.I.E.L.D guards bringing her lunch every day. It could be worse. He could be dealing with vampires and werewolves like any normal, crazy sonuvabitch hunter. At least Barton got the top of the food chain. Made for a better challenge. Even if it also made for plenty of broken bones, concussions, and open wounds. Vampires were about as dull as Monday night bridge with the local golden girls. Barton lowers his coffee once more to allow himself to roll up the sleeve of his t-shirt. Four claw marks raked over his shoulder in ugly, thick scars. Only one of his prizes from his many missions. "This is from an Aswang when I was in the Philippines." He explains. "They like to eat dead children. Apparently I was stepping in on meal time." He snorts. He rolls down his sleeve the hide the scars once more and lifts his eyes to look at her as she asked for anything else she should know. Mostly, he had no clue. There was plenty. I mean, he has an entire team to tell her about, but he wasn't sure if going through that now was too great of an idea. Maybe if she met them. Which would probably happen sooner rather than later depending on how long she sticks around. "You wanna just...shoot?" He asks, mimicking the motion of loosing an arrow.

Teresa had to smile when he replied before she cleared her throat and looked down. She always held her own when it came to lies, apart from where her father was concerned she always used to be worried that he would find out something that she didn't want him too. Well he never did find out she had been sneaking out at night to see Graeme, because if he had then he would be dead by now. So, maybe he did actually believe her lies after all. She pushed her lips out at that thought before clearing her throat. She then watched as Barton lifted the sleeve of his t-shirt up and she saw the claw marks. "I was going to ask if you found Wolverine too, but he has three claws" she shrugged up her shoulder. The last thing she needed to do right now was geek out over claw marks. She was probably weird already she didn't want to add the fact that she used to watch nearly every movie she could get her hands on. She then pushed her eyebrows together when he said that the Aswang liked to eat dead children. That was the last thing Teresa wanted to know but then again there was some weird things out there, she didn't have to explain that especially if it sounded like he had actually seen nearly everything. Well maybe not everything but at least he was seeing some things that he probably didn't ever want to see and now she was fucking rambling in her head about him seeing things. She rolled her eyes at herself before sighing under her breath. Maybe she really did need to talk to Lexi about all of this, maybe then she would actually be able to stop herself from thinking about Barton seeing things. "That might be a good idea" she nodded when he asked if she wanted to just shoot. At least then it would put her brain on something other than geeking out on itself over Wolverine or about Barton seeing things that he probably didn't want to see. It was better to get down to the reason why she was there and if she was honest, it was definitely to try out the range. Another thing she was probably geeking out over.

Wolverine. Cute. Barton might have actually enjoyed stumbling across Wolverine. At least he was one of the good guys. "Good." He replies when Teresa agrees to drop the questions, at least for now, and actually do what she came here for. The things he had told her was nothing he had never explained before. Especially not to a stranger. But he couldn't help but feel like one answer to one of her many questions could lead to a hundred more. A hundred more he doesn't want to answer right now, especially to a girl he barely knew other than the fact that she would be an excellent side kick. He's still debating that for himself. He doesn't do side kicks. Too messy. Barton picks up his bow once more and forgoes his quiver with its specialty bows for the huge drum of dummies. As much as he liked using his tricks, they were expensive to replace -since he was making them- and technically meant for actual missions. Not showing off to the cute, young archer who kept looking at him as if he was the most impressive thing she had seen in her life. Even he knew that was a bunch of bullshit. "First one to a hundred points wins?" He asks, only to draw three arrows between his fingers and nocking them in place. He winks at her, before letting his back muscles tighten and his fingers relax. The arrows fly across the room, and slam right into his human-shaped target on the other wall; one in the gut, one in the center, and one in the head. Okay. Maybe he was impressive.

Teresa watched as his picked up his bow and then bit on her lip. She put her coffee back down on the table before grabbing her own bow and one of his dummy arrow. She nodded when he said about the first one to a hundred points. This was going to be a challenge because she's never gone up against someone like Barton. As much as she loved Graeme, even she had to admit that he wasn't no Barton. Graeme done this for a hobby, Barton however done this for his job. Maybe at some point with Graeme, the teacher would become the student and she could teach him some things. Teresa cleared her throat before rolling her eyes as he winked at her. Then watched as the arrows, three she might add, flew into the human shaped target. "Show off" she muttered under her breath before clearing her throat. She nocked her own arrow into place before pulling the string back. If this had been any other time, mostly when she was younger, she would've had to concentrated hard and blocked out the noise around her. But this time she was aware of Barton watching her, she was aware of Lucky in the room and then released the arrow. Then it ended up next to Barton's in the target's head. She shrugged up a shoulder then glanced back at him with a smile. "Okay, maybe I can't do three arrows at once but in the beginning it was just a hobby that I was taught by my older brother" she muttered and then looked back at the target. Maybe if she practised more then she would be able to use three arrows at once. Hell if she really tried hard then she probably could be as good as Barton. Maybe even she could teach him a few things. Although the man seemed to know it all already. Lexi was right, maybe this was going to be a competition but a long lasting one for now. Teresa pulled her lip in between her teeth before clearing her throat once more. She wasn't even going to point out how much skilled he was than her. She was good, and had used this to her advantage many times. So what the hell was stopping her from using it now?

"When you grow up the way I did," Barton replies after watching her arrow hit the target. "You kind of have to be a show off." He admits with a smirk. She has good aim, he couldn't deny that. Considering all the basic fundamentals of archery, she knew plenty of them. All she really had to do was learn how to use her skills in action, and maybe she could be the sidekick Lexi seems to think she is. Barton still isn't entirely sure about that whole deal. Despite working in a team and having worked with partners in the past, the idea of having someone working specifically with him didn't sit all too well on his mind. Not that he can't play nice, or he didn't like her, but he found more often than not that the more people in a situation, the more stupid shit happened. Their little hunting troupe seemed to prove that plenty of times. The job got done faster and with less injuries, but the destruction and bickering and overall time wasted completely negated that fact. Barton isn't willing to admit that he's the cause for most of it. He likes to blame Bucky too. He's the one with the metal arm and the tendency to rip buildings apart. He also blames Sam just on principle. That's what friends are for. "Well then let's up the ante." Barton plucks another arrow and holds it between his teeth like a dog-bone before reaching for another. Most of the high-scoring shots centered around the heart and skull -kill shots- but Barton knew that those were rarely completely within sight and standing still for their pleasure. So as he threads the second arrow through his bow, nocking it into place, he jabs an elbow back towards the wall behind him. It hits squarely against a red button, and the room suddenly comes to life in a whir. Like ballerinas, the targets suddenly start dancing around the room, moving in slow steady circles on tracks concealed upon the floor until now. Always random. Always shifting. Barton narrows his gaze and loosens, right as the peppered human target turns just barely in his direction. The arrow snaps right into the chest in the 9 point range. Not dead center, but dead center wasn't everything. Especially not on a real target. He has to jump forward and tuck and roll as another circular target comes sweeping right where he's standing; and he pulls the arrow from his mouth at the same instant to draw through his bow and spin around to shoot the target right where it counts, scoring another ten points.

Teresa looked over at Barton when he spoke before she cleared her throat. In honesty she didn't know what to say. No ones life was ever perfect, but that still didn't mean she knew what to say or whether she should really ask. It wasn't her business to even enquire. If he wanted her to know then he would've said something else but he just said what he did and then smirked at her. "I grew up hating my father so pretending that every target I used was him was my biggest thing" she admitted. But her first real kill had been one of the werewolves in the pack who killed her mother and it made her feel surprisingly numb. There wasn't any gratification in doing what she had done and that was with anger and grief in her heart. Teresa pushed her lips together when he said about upping the ante and she honestly wasn't sure if she would even be able to get to that hundred. She was good but there was always someone better. She watched as the room came alive and everything started to move. She sighed under her breath before watching him get his target. Graeme had once said that he would teach her how to shoot from the back of a bike. Sadly she had failed every time and in the end gave up to the point that she just glared at the thought of getting back on the bike and doing it again. Teresa keeps her eyes on the targets and then lets the arrow loose and it actually hit one. She huffed out a breath in surprise and then pulls her lip in between her teeth. Sure it's not dead centre but it would have to do. She grabs a couple more arrows and then notches one before letting it go. Only this time it didn't hit any target. The first time was pure luck. "I don't like this game" she huffed and then looked in the direction of Barton and then notched her other arrow and let that one loose too. This sucked so much.

Barton turns his head to look back at her when she huffs out her grievances with the new stakes of the game. He wants to laugh, just a little bit, at the haphazard way she's firing off arrows in an attempt to hit something. Anything. He shakes his head once, grinning to himself. Maybe he had been a little premature with upping the stakes, but he couldn't help it. His own damn curiosity wanted to know what she really could do, and in the span of about three seconds he sort of figured it out. She was good, no doubt about that, but she still had plenty to learn. "Hold on," Barton lowers his bow and shoves himself to his feet. He moves quickly to where she's standing and loosing arrows as fast as she can, careful to not end up skewered on the end of one. They were dummy arrows, but they still hit hard. "Okay," He comes to a halt beside her and reaches out with his hands to clasp them around hers as she's holding tight to her compact bow. He doesn't crowd her, knowing better than to do that around a woman with a weapon, but he holds her hands steady and keeps the bow high. "Move with the target." He instructs, knowing he sounds like a cheesy instructional video. He's never had to teach anyone before. This was going to be new for the both of them. "Always one step ahead." He moves the bow with her, keeping the point of the arrow aimed about a foot ahead of where the closest target is sweeping towards them. "As soon as you're ready," He tells her, eyes following the target closely. "Loose."

Teresa looks over at Barton when he says about holding on. She pushes her eye brows together when he comes to a halt beside her and put his hands around hers. The last time she had someone do this was when she was seven years old and Graeme taught her how to use one. Then he let her use it on her own and she got the target square on and since then she had loved archery. She had done her own practising and that had been fine with her but now she was going up against someone like Barton. And it seemed as if she was lacking and it was something that she didn't like. It made her feel out of sorts. Teresa wanted to laugh when he said about moving with the target. She wasn't sure what he was trying to teach her, whether it was archery or some exercise video. But it made a smile pull at her lips and she pulled the bottom one in between her teeth and then moved and felt him moving the bow with her. It felt like his breath was tickling her neck and in honesty she wasn't sure if she found that overwhelming or whether or not she found it damn right annoying. But in the end she loosened the arrow and watched as it hit the target. A grin pulled at her lips and she looked over at Barton. "I told you that I was good" she said and shrugged up a shoulder. It was going to take her a while to get used to moving targets but then again the only target she had hit was a werewolf and he was standing still trying to piss off the Alpha that lived in town. And her other targets were trees and they didn't move. Unless of course you hit your head against them and then everything seemed to move. Even the stars above the head. She brought her fist up and then getting hit his shoulder. That was only the first one and it definitely didn't count as a point because he helped her out. Now she needed to do it on her own. Just to be able to stay in the game with him. She was determined to at least be within the range of a hundred.

She managed to hit the target, even with his cheesy instruction, and he took that as a good sign. He smiled a little triumphantly, releasing her hands and dropping them back down to his sides. "Well I wouldn't say good." He teases her with a nudge of his elbow. "You're getting there," He admits, and he means that. If she keeps her good form -well, nearly perfect form- and keeps practicing on targets that move rather than still-standing trees, she could be fantastic. Maybe even better than him. Though he wasn't going to say that out loud. He wasn't that generous. "Hit twelve more in the face and you might just beat me," He tells her with a small smirk, drawing a dummy arrow from the bucket for himself. Okay. Maybe he was a little generous. "Maybe," He murmurs, drawing the arrow through. Couldn't be too generous. They continued on for a long time, Barton losing track of time after an hour of shooting arrows. At one point he gets smacked in the back with a target which knocks him off balance and onto the ground. Its not a great first impression, but he manages to roll onto his back and loose two arrows right into the target's stupid face, gaining him twenty points. In the end, Teresa scores an even fifty, and Barton gets a bruise on his spine. He punches the button on the wall once more to turn off the track, and the targets stop where they are and remain still. "Well that wasn't an awful way to spend my night." He tells her around a small smirk, dropping his recurve bow onto the table and grabbing the pot of bitter cold coffee to gulp down a few swallows.

Teresa couldn't say that her night wasn't completely wasted. She got fifty and that was fine with her especially when she wasn't used to hitting moving targets. She's proud of what she accomplished and sometimes everyone needed help, even pro archers. She watched Barton before moving over to the table with him and putting her own bow beside his. "It's better than sitting in my cousin's apartment and waiting for her to get back from her job, although I guess I could've gone to Flynn's with her" she shrugged up a shoulder before she sat down on the ground and crossed her legs at the knees. In honesty this was an archers heaven. This place was pretty perfect and god she wished that she had a place like this back in Mystic. The only place she had was the forest by her apartment and even then it only held trees. Teresa could ask Katherine if she wanted to be her target but she doubted whether the vampire wanted to be on the end of anyone's arrow again. No doubt she could tell a few stories about being on the end of something. But at the moment she was just thankful that he knew Lexi and had been willing to let Teresa come to his house. "So, I'm guessing that you don't let people come here and train that often" she muttered and looked up at him. She wasn't sure if she would actually share this place with anyone either. Hell not even Graeme would be allowed in this place. At that thought she looked down and started to play with the straps on her shoes before she pulled her lip in between her teeth once more. Somewhere like this would actually be her hide out and she wouldn't let anyone discover it. If she said anything like that to Barton then he would probably think that she was weird. But at the moment she just wanted to be somewhere like this so that she could improve in everything.

Barton cringes at the cold coffee, though it isn't anything he hadn't expected. It was cold and disgusting now, and the lack of vodka was also a little disappointing. He sets the pot back down and clears his throat with a shake of his head. His blue eyes shift back towards Teresa as she speaks and he sucks the taste of bad coffee off of his teeth. "Personally? Archery beats bars twenty to one." He tells her. Barton still drinks -still likes to drink- but bars are crowded messes and he ends up in a fight at least every time he walks into one. Don't ask him how. It just happens. Mostly because guys in bars remind him of either his father or his brother, and both are guys he'd beat with a chair if he had the chance. Also don't ask. "No, not often." He admits with another shake of his head. In fact, she was quite possible the third other person besides him to be down here, and the second wasn't even all that interested. Barton didn't blame Sam. There wasn't much for a guy with his interests in here. Though the first had found a way around that. "The only other person who trains with me is Natalia." Barton tells her. If Lexi seemed so adamant to include her, he might as well answer her questions with a little bit more than just yes or no. "She's....part of our team." Actually she was pretty much the one who started the damn thing. Not only has she known Barton for god knows how long, but apparently she also knew Bucky and Steve long before any of them met each other. She's practically the reason why none of them strangle each other. Even if they're all positive Bucky and Steve do other things. "She shoots at me, I shoot back at her, we usually end up blowing something up." He shrugs his shoulder.

"I have to admit that I usually like going to bars. Although back in Mystic, there is a girl who is a friend or rather used to be a friend she makes the most amazing cocktails" she smiles before looking down once more. Miranda pretty much made her own cocktails at her party but god that was so long ago. But she could still remember what they tasted like and they were pretty good. Then Teresa decided it was probably best to just stay away from everyone, apart from Katherine, after that. But that was her decision and one that she hadn't gone back on. Even if she did actually miss their company. But it seemed like she had found some new company. "That's the girl with the bet, right? The Sam and Lexi one?" She was trying to remember everything that had been said while sitting on the bench and drinking their Starbucks drinks. She listened to what he said before she nodded and smiled. "You're lucky, I don't actually have anyone to shoot at" she admitted and then scoffed. "Unless of course you count the trees but they are shot at whether they like it or not" she teased before grinning this time. She had been surprised when Lexi told her to bring her bow and arrows, she didn't think her cousin had been interested in archery but now she knew that it hadn't been the case. Rather she was setting her up for some time with Clint Barton, who wasn't only smug but good at what he done. Teresa was sure that if she ever told him that then she would boost his ego even more and that wasn't something that she wanted. It definitely sounded like he had fun while down here but sometimes there was only certain people who really understood what it felt like to do something amazing with a bow. Her father never understood that. He always wanted to strap a .45 to her thigh and tell her that she had to kill everything in the Mystic pack. But she never could do it. That had been her family and she wasn't willing to do anything like that now. "I'm going to tell Graeme that we need to get something done like this"

"That's the one." He nods, and pulls one of the Twizzlers from the almost empty pack and bites into it. "Trust me, its not as fun as it sounds." He snorts, "She uses live ammunition in her pistols even when we train." There are still tons of bullet holes pocketing the cement of the walls. It might seem harsh, and even nine kinds of crazy, but they go easy on each other even if it resembles all out war. But in the field, no one was going to be shooting at you with dummy arrows or using blunted claws to rake at your face. Training in the fire was better than being unprepared once you jumped into the real heat. And they agreed at the start; no aiming at faces or vital organs. Though it still hurt like hell if it hit anywhere else. By now, they had learned to dance around each other that no real injuries sprouted. And, usually, they always ended up pulling hair and biting rather than using their weapons. Deadly assassins, all right. "But she's skilled. Better than me, really." He tells her with a nod, though its no secret. What she is helps with the fact that she can put an entire squadron down in little under thirty minutes. That's what makes training with her so profitable. He came out aching and sore and bleeding, but he always learned something. Like that Natalia was ticklish right at her waist. "Graeme?" Barton asks, arching a brow and chewing on the Twizzler.

Teresa nodded. At least she had got one name right, well two because she knew about Sam or rather heard about him from Lexi but that didn't mean that she would be able to put face to name. She was pretty terrible with names. She listened to what he said and then nodded before she cleared her throat about what he had said after. "I bet that was hard to admit" she teased before looking up at him. There was just something about Barton that made her realise that she hadn't met anyone like him before. That wasn't like she was admitting when someone was her soul-mate, far from it. It's just she had only ever known two people who had used bows and arrows. Graeme and Katherine. But Barton was like neither of them. He knew things that she doubted that Graeme knew and that could come in handy, if her skill was ever needed back in Mystic again. Which she really hoped not. Teresa was enjoying the normality of going to college classes, working at the hospital and then going home and finding Graeme there. That was her routine. That might sound boring to other people but being in that apartment meant it was her freedom away from her dad. It was her safe haven and in honesty she was thankful that Graeme had even asked her to move in with him. But she knew at some point that normality would be broken by something else. It wouldn't be what they wanted but things were usually out of their control. She pushed her eyebrows together when he asked who Graeme was. She smiled and looked down. "He's my boyfriend" she nodded with the smile still on her lips. Her and Graeme had a long complicated history and she knew that not everyone would be approving of the fact that they were siblings, even if he was her step brother. He still had the same last name and had been brought up by Scott. Even if that had been the last thing he wanted to do.
