Her eyes never left him, brown eyes staring straight forward as he laid on the bed. She should've said no and walked away because him dying was the kindness that he deserved.
Katherine hated the fact that this had been thrusted on to her and that's why she had promised Jon to never turn anyone to keep even her own daughter human because at the end of the day she wanted to be the only one who would have to suffer this.
This curse.
"Katherine please!" he had begged, "He is my brother, I can't live without him".
Well now Adrian was going to have to live without him.
Katherine moved her eyes finally away from Adrian and ran her hands over her face for a moment and cleared her throat. Her eyes caught on the wrist that she had tore in to so that Adrian died with her blood in his system. It was healed now and there's not a blemish on her perfect skin.
She put her elbows on her knees and her hands in to her hair and closed her eyes against the tears that wanted to fall but she tried so hard to keep them from falling.
What have I done?
Over and over she asked herself that inside of her head.
Katherine had told Jon everything about what had happened back in the former King's Landing. She had told him that she had died the day that her sister did because of the fact she had been stabbed by a guard that she didn't even hear coming and now she heard everything.
She heard the guards walking outside and Tristan walking back and forth outside of the room, she heard kids laughing and the sounds of the ravens in the rookery. Katherine could hear heart beat after heart beat and she clenched her hands tightly digging her fingers into her skin so that she could focus on something else. It took her everything to not want to kill someone in Winterfell. Edric had looked at her as if she had a disease and this was why.
A vampires very nature was to kill humans and drink blood and Katherine went against that every time she fed on an animal, making sure that she didn't have anyones death on her hands but it was hard, really hard and Adrian better be damn strong to deal with all of this because while she might've gone up against the Freys and Ramsey Bolton and her sister.. this was even stronger than all of them together.
Katherine wasn't sure how long it would take for him to wake up but it had been a while now. She had pretty much woke up not long after being turned but she guessed that everyone was different.
After what felt like a while and the goblet that had the blood in was tempting a voice came across her ears and she looked up to see that Adrian was awake. She knew he must be feeling so many different emotions right now from hunger, to confusion to anger and maybe even a little bit horny. Being a vampire heightened all of those feelings and it was worse everytime she felt something she would feel like she could flip out of control.
The curtains were closed because she had said about keeping them closed, Katherine had seen Emilia again once after she had been turned and she told her that the necklace allowed her to walk in the sunlight but those that didn't have anything like that, like Adrian right now, would burn.
"Here" she got up from her seat and took the goblet over to Adrian and held it out to him.
"You've been crying" he said and looked at her before he then let out a painful groan and closed his eyes up tightly. "What in Mahal's sake is going on?" he could hear so much and he had pain in his gums.
Seeing it from this point of view was fucking tough she wanted so badly to put him out of his misery; to stop him from feeling all of this but she had promised Tristan... well no she hadn't she just gave in to it. "You need to drink, you'll feel better after" she hated saying that because he wouldn't ever feel better. This was for life and for them, according to Emilia, was forever.
"What have you done?" Adrian grabbed hold of her wrist and she knew that the first turned vampires were stronger and she could feel his hand digging into her wrist and looked him in the eyes.
"I'm sorry" she muttered to him and bit down on her lip before she then reached out and put the goblet on the table next to the bed and took hold of his hand and just about managed to get it away from her own wrist.
The door opened and she looked over to see Tristan for a moment before she cleared her throat. She could see the anger on Adrian's face when she looked back at him, he was so angry that she could feel it in him. Katherine put his hand down on the bed before she then got up and couldn't even bring herself to curtsy to Tristan, she knew she probably should because he was a King but her own anger in her made her push all of that to one side.
Katherine looked over at Adrian for another moment before dropping her eyes down to the floor and wanting to be away from this, she wanted to be able to breathe and not feel like she could explode at any moment. She wanted to forget all about this but she couldn't because she had gone against her own promise to not turn someone and she didn't even know how Tristan knew what she was.
With that thought in mind she pulled herself up and walked towards the door and just as she was about to open the door Tristan reached for her arm and said "Than-"
"Don't you dare" Katherine turned her head so fast that she was sure if she was human then she would've hurt her neck. "Don't you dare thank me for this" she said through her teeth at him. "You don't know what it feels like to have the instinct to want to kill every single person you see or how their heartbeats call out to you when you're just trying to focus on breathing or how a bloody knee from your daughter could be the reason she ends up dead so don't thank me because what you have done is selfish and cruel and for that.. anything that happens to people here.. that's on you" she said and with that she pulled the door open and stepped out the room letting it slam shut behind her.
Katherine probably should've stayed and made sure that Adrian didn't kill his own brother but right now.. she just wanted to be away from all of this.
Katherine took a deep breath and closed her eyes letting the breeze blow against her face as she sat outside on the porch of her house in Mystic, Connecticut. She let her eyes fall open once more and she picked up her coffee cup, taking a sip. She had been thinking a lot about Westeros and Rohan lately and how much everything was so much more easier back then.
The older Katherine got the more she forgot what her daughter sounded like, what Robb sounded like and she wondered just when her time would be up especially when there was a hunter in town that threatened her about ending her but has yet to do it.
At least if she hadn't been a vampire then London wouldn't have happened and with that she pushed those thoughts away and got up from her seat and moved in to the house not wanting to even indulge those thoughts because she would end up dialing Jon and right now she didn't want that. So instead she put the cup in to the sink and went about her day trying to pretend that she hadn't thought back to the day she turned Adrian.
