The day started off bright and warm, the servants going about their daily routines and the royal family doing what they need to be doing.
"I told you that I was better at this and you didn't listen!" Mia said and pointed at Durin with her forefinger.
"I don't listen half the time when you say something and if anyone is better at something then that would be me" He huffed out and then looked up when he saw his father coming from the direction of his office.
"Durin, Mia"
"Your Grace" Mia said with a curtsey even though she was a royal herself and didn't need to do it she thought it was just polite way to greet someone from another country.
Eoin put his eyes on back on his son "Your mother will be arriving back today from her trip to see Bilbo" Sometimes Jeyne just liked to see them face to face and spend some time away from the castle but she had stayed their overnight and would be arriving back at some time today.
As if she had heard them the sound of Jeyne coming up the stairs and into the doorway caught all of their attentions and they all turned to see the dark haired Queen walking towards them and behind her was a guard carrying six bags.. Eoin remembered that she had only taken one. A smile pulled at his lips as his wife looked like she was far from pleased.
"Durin do any of the men from Gondor smell...no matter here, take a bag" she said and took it from the guard before pushing it into her son's hand.
Mia smirked before leaning in to Durin's ear "Sounds like she's saying you smell too" she kept that smirk on her lips as she stood straight.
"Ah, Mia, I have missed a name day.. you have a bag too" she watched the guard give Mia one too.
That caught Durin's eye and he smirked right back at her. "Someone else smells too" he whispered back to her and received a scowl from the dark haired princess.
Eoin sighed "Jeyne, why didn't you just say no to him?"
Jeyne looked over at her husband "Oh, Darling, I did try but he gave me five bags of new scents and I couldn't just say no, you know that it would break his heart"
"We don't have any room"
"I can send them to my mother, yes, I will do that" she said and then took the remaining bags from the guards and smiled at him before walking off in the direction of the office.
The guard bowing to the King and disappearing quickly so that he didn't have to do anything else.
"Why didn't you say no?" Durin asked.
"The same reason why your mother can't say no to Bilbo, it would break her heart" She put the bag down on the floor and she was a little too late for a servant who then tripped over it and threw a bowl of food over Mia's dress. She made a noise and looked down at her new dress.
Durin was howling with laughter and she was sure that he had tears in his eyes. She wanted to kick him so badly right now.
"Durin..." Eoin said and looked at him before shaking his head and then turning to the Princess but before he could say anything she held a hand up and walked away, grabbing the bag off the floor as she did. He felt bad for her and sighed, today was turning out to be one of those strange days. He walked away with the sound of Durin's laughter in his ears.
Eoin thinks that maybe Mia has found a usage for those soaps and it's probably not to wash with!
