As she settles herself on top of him, sweeping her hair back, Adrian sits upward to meet her. He grips tight at a thigh, feeling the motion as she begins to move against him, so familiar and yet so different. His mouth finds her throat again, leaving wet kisses against her skin as he grazes his teeth and tongue at her skin, matching the slow roll of her hips against his. He fills his free palm with her breast once more, tracing circles around her nipple with the pad of his thumb.
He remembers all those years ago. All those devious plans at getting the young Queen alone in a bedchamber, all those wry flirts and suggestive teases. She had rebuffed him at every turn, rolling her eyes and replying with dismissive quips, but it had only made him more determined, more eager, more interested in the chase than actually getting her into a bed. And when they did finally, after six centuries of those teasing remarks, tearing each other out of their clothes and tearing their way into a bed with no sense of delicacy or decorum, he still found himself straying after other girls, finding other possibilities to chase, caring only for the next bite than the woman he's flirted with for half a millennium.
And now...
Now he can only thing of her. The way she feels against him, the taste of her skin against his tongue, how tight his grip is getting upon her thigh just in the anticipation, the want for more friction.
He pulls her tight against him, lifting his mouth from her throat to brush his lips up and over hers. He gives a twist, rolling so Katherine falls upon her back on the mattress with him still between her thighs. His palm skims from her thigh up her side to her hip, arching it just slightly towards him as he presses into her. His eyes skim over her face as he begins with the same rhythm she'd kept, until he gradually picks up the speed, moving with more purpose. He kisses her once more, deep, lingering.

He sits up against her and she puts her arms around him, letting her fingers move across his back the skin under her fingertips feeling soft to her touch. His hand grips at her thigh and he then moves his mouth against her throat and she tilted her head back slightly, her eyes closing in pleasure. It seems like every touch he has for her sends more sparks through her veins. In situations like this sometimes she misses the pounding of her heart so that they would be able to feel what they were doing to it, how it affects her heart. His thumb traces circles around her nipple and honestly it felt like she was going to explode there and then.
The last time they slept together none of this really mattered, to her, and probably to him, he was just the man who liked to calm the itch that she had. Katherine was able to control herself when it came to sex and biting, although there had been a couple of times her teeth had grazed Jon's skin but knowing she couldn't ever bite him had left her being able to control that part of her.
Both Katherine and Adrian would rip each other's clothes, she would tell him not to talk even when he didn't, and then it would be over faster than anything and before long she was back in her room and he was with another one of her girls. But then again she never complained, always using him to scratch that itch. But now this was all different. Adrian was taking care, he was taking notice as if he had just woke up to realise that it didn't need to be over so fast.
He pulled her tight against him and honestly she wasn't sure if they could get any tighter and he brushed his lips against hers then without warning he turns over so that she was on her back. He arched her hip slightly towards him and she chews on her lip when he moves more into her. Katherine feels his eyes on her so she slowly opens them and swallows hard just before he picks up the speed and then kisses her, deeper this time. His lips lingering against hers. She let her finger nails scratch at his back but not hard enough to make him bleed.
Then slowly she moves her hands up and one settles on his shoulder blade and the other sinks into the back of his hair, she pulls slightly out of the kiss but her lips are close to his as their breathing mingles together. Katherine lets out a moan against his lips before a smile takes over, this felt really amazing if she's honest. She slowly moves her other leg and settles her foot against the back of his leg and she slowly lets her foot move up and down his skin. Her brown eyes settle on his and for a moment they keep the gaze before she slowly shuts her eyes up and continues to move with him.

They fall apart afterwards, Adrian rolling to drop upon his back on the mussed sheets of her bed. He doesn't know how much time has passed since he followed her towards her room, doesn't know how long they spent moving against one another, feeling the heat spread through their skin for the first time in a long time. His fingers and toes tingle with the aftermath, his breathing shaky and quick though he has no heart to calm.
Usually the excitement, the heat, fades the moment he climbs off, the moment they're finished, the moment she starts getting dressed. But this lingers. Warm and blissful. Maybe it's because it's been so long, years since he let himself get tangled in bed with another woman, too afraid of what might happen if he did after the events of London. But there hadn't been a trace of hunger, not even a tickling urge to bite into her throat to taste the deadened blood that lingers beneath the surface. All he had wanted was her.
Adrian wets his lips, his brows twitching close in slight confusion at that thought, not understanding why that is so. Even when he was better. Even when he was in more control, sleeping with the girls in Katherine's brothel had come with the slight nagging worry that he could lapse. He'd had to distract himself to keep from tearing their throats, he'd had to keep it quick to remove the possibility. But not here. Not now. Not with her.
He pushes his short hair back before glancing towards Katherine, looking over her face.

Katherine wasn’t sure just how long it had been but it felt good, it felt good to actually just let off a little steam. To finally be able to put a bit of herself back together just long enough to enjoy the things that came her way. Adrian rolled into his back and she looked up at the ceiling her dark eyes watching it.
She could feel his eyes on her face so she slowly brought her eyes down and looked at him, a smile pulling at her lips. Katherine then rolled over onto her side so that she could see him. The smile still on her lips, she moved her dark hair from her face as she tried to calm her breathing even if she had no heart to pound in her chest. It didn’t matter.
She kept her eyes on his face before slowly looking away and chewing on her lip. This probably beat going out into the street to see what New York had to offer right now. Katherine looked back at him and then reached out and moved a few strands of his hair back. “Better get you looking your best because of all those ladies out in the street” she said in a soft tease before chewing on her lip once more and letting the back of her finger stroke his cheek.

She rolls onto her side to face him, bare hip curving into the air, hair draping away. Adrian would be a fool if he didn't think she looked beautiful in this moment, with her serene smile and dark eyes. She reaches out to brush his hair away, teasing him lightly before her fingers drift down to stroke over his cheek -- a light touch in a series of light touches. He rises himself to an elbow, turning slightly towards her, before taking her hand gently with his. Flicking his brown eyes back to her face, he hovers his lips close to her hand, a smile curving its way along them. "Already planning on ways to pawn me off to someone else?" He asks, before he lays a kiss upon her knuckles.
Her skin is cool to the touch, but still soft, just like the rest of her. Soft and smooth like silk laid out before him, still tempting to touch.
"I didn't think it was that bad," he adds on, amused. He lowers her hand back to the blankets, but keeps his own fingers wrapped around it, stroking lightly across the knuckles of her fingers with the pad of his thumb.

Katherine watches as he turns towards her and for a moment she was tempted to lean over and kiss him softly, after all he really did give her a good time. He takes her hand in his and then speaks before kissing her knuckles. As he kissed her knuckles she was flashed back to the day they met in Winterfell for the first time, this dark haired young man full of fire and teases that it was a little hard to see him in the centuries after that but right here and now she sees him. That young man who had tried everything to get her into bed, the winks and the teases and yet she never gave.
She snorts at his words when he spoke about her planning to pawn him off, she was a little tempted. A grin pulled at her lips, it felt weird to do it after so long of being somber but maybe now was the right time, maybe now was the time to fight back against her demons. To push them back and tell them that she was going to be in control for a while because she has had enough of living in the darkness. Never smiling, never laughing. It wasn't how Katherine was and now she wanted to put herself back together. The past will always be there but it didn't mean she had to live it for the rest of her life.
Katherine raises an eyebrow in a joking manner before then letting out a sigh. "Well... I don't know" she said and chuckled softly and then watched as he lowered her hand down on to the blanket and his fingers still wrapped around it before he was stroking her knuckles with his thumb. His thumb felt rough against her skin but she should be used to that. She chewed on her lip and watched him before she leaned forward and kissed him softly for a long moment letting the kiss linger for a moment before she slowly pulled back and put her head back down onto her pillow.

"I'm hurt," Adrian replies, feigning a look of despair as he lifts his hand from hers to put over his still chest. But a laugh bubbles out of him after a moment, shaking his shoulders slightly as he drops his chin and eyes away, a grin tugging at his mouth. His attention is drawn back upwards when she leans forward and her lips find his. She kisses him for a long moment, sweet and lingering, and Adrian's eyes follow her when she finally pulls away to lie back against her pillow. It's such an innocent thing, such a normal thing, and yet it makes him falter for a second.
He pulls in a deep breath through his parted lips, trying to will away the sudden fuzzy feeling that had spread through his limbs, trying to think of something else. His eyes shift away, a small smile finding him. He rolls his tongue against his lower lip before biting lightly upon it, tasting her upon him. Adrian could get used to it. To this. To being with her if it means more mornings hearing her laugh and moan breathlessly against his ear.
He prefers it entirely to the days that passed by where they didn't speak at all.
"Well..." Adrian comments after a moment, pushing himself to sit upwards. He shifts upon the bed, a thought coming to mind, a way to not let this moment slip entirely from his fingers, the first truly good moment they've had in ten years. "I'm sure I can make it up to you." He muses with a hint of a wicked smile upon his lips. He leans over her, ducking his head low to lay a trail of kisses across the flat of her stomach, using his palm to push her hips until she rests flat upon her back on the sheets. Moving a little nearer to the foot of the bed, mouth skimming down, he catches her thighs and spreads them once more.
As he kisses over her mound, he flicks his eyes up to meet hers once more, before his tongue finds the sweetness hidden just below, rolling slowly against her.

Katherine playfully rolls her eyes when he says that he's hurt. Now if she believed that then she would believe that the sky was purple, which it wasn't. Although saying that it could very well be but they couldn't see from all the crap. She hears him laugh and for the first time in a while it's nice to hear him laugh it's even nice to laugh. She feels his eyes on her and for a moment she smiles. She wasn't sure just how all of this happened but she didn't regret it at all, didn't regret kissing him and definitely didn't feel any regret for sleeping with him either.
He then speaks and she raises an eyebrow when he said about making it up to her. There was a wicked grin and honestly she was a little bit worried about what it all meant but then he started to kiss across her stomach and she moved her hand down and let her fingers sink into his hair once more. But then he turned her so that she was on her back and for a moment she did wonder if they were going to do it again but then he moved down and he caught her thighs before spreading them apart.
Katherine arched up a little when he kissed her mound and for a moment she chewed on her lip. Other than Jon no one had done this to her before but she definitely wasn't complaining as his tongue found her spot and she lowered her hand once more and her fingers sank back into his hair as she made sure he stayed there. She arched up once more to meet his tongue and she closed her eyes tightly as her toes started to curl.
"Damn you Adrian Durin" she said through a soft moan.

Her hands fist in his hair, gripping tight to the short strands as much as she can, arching up towards him as he massages his tongue against the soft folds of skin. He hears her damn him somewhere above, her words echoed through a moan, and a grin pulls at his mouth as he continues, refusing to let up, holding her thighs tight around him.
Yes. He really does think he can get used to this.
The years pass, and London fades away into a distant, forgotten memory. In twenty years, the world changes more than it has in six centuries, coming to life in a vivid whirlwind of technology and war and music and dancing. So much dancing. And as the world tries to stop the party with their laws and their prohibitions, humanity finds a way to keep it going. They move underground, they cut their hair, they stir moonshine in stolen barrels and bathtubs, and swing until the morning light calls them back to reality.
And all Adrian can think is finally.
They sit in a crowded speakeasy beneath the heart of New Orleans' Bourbon Street, jazz music pounding against their eardrums and the walls, woman dancing with the flash of shiny jewels and swinging tassel. Liquor pours freely into outstretched glasses, rich moguls mingling among the poor, men who've never seen a day of hard-work kicking heels with soldiers freshly returned from Europe, gangsters talking sweetly to the girls who's cups they fill. Adrian's bowtie sits untied and loose around his neck, a cigarette dangling from his lips and a dark strand of hair falling into his eyes as he shuffles a deck of cards between his hands.
"Alright, alright, who's betting what?" He asks around the cigarette, smoke swirling into the air as he taps the deck roughly upon the liquor stained table.
"You're already stealing all my money," a man grumbles, but flicks a couple bills into the center of the table. Adrian grins as a few more mumbles rumble from the others, before he starts dealing out cards.

As the years pass Katherine becomes more aware of the fact that though the dreams sometimes affect her still, they are no where near as constant as they had been in New York. She's able to laugh more openly, smile more wider and generally feel happier than she has in a while. They stayed in New York for a little while before they ended up moving and in the years that her and Adrian had been moving together, she has found the place that she loves more than anything and in the changing times she has come to love dancing. Gone are the days of the corsets and the long Victorian gowns.
Now is the time of stockings and flapper dresses with hair cuts that are more shorter than the dresses that Katherine now likes to wear. A lot has happened in the last twenty years but for the two vampires that had to move around so no one would discover what they were, it was time for them to finally be able to put the past behind them and live in the times of moonshine and hiding away so that they don't get caught.
They sit in a crowded speakeasy underneath Bourbon Street and honestly it's one of the best places she's been too in a long time. Adrian is cleaning everyone out with cards and Katherine is making sure that everyone's attention is on her of course. Her dress was short and men could see the stockings that she liked to now wear. But honestly Katherine didn't care if they saw anything because in the end it wasn't them that was touching her, in the end it wouldn't be them taking her home. She had long pearl necklaces around her neck that seemed to settle just between her breasts along with her daylight necklace that she kept on her.
She had come to like Jazz music and wanted to stay here for a while just to take in the atmosphere at night. This place was definitely different and more alive than New York had been and for that she was more than thankful to have stopped here.
Katherine comes up to the table and smiles at each of the men "Gentlemen" she said and let a smile pull at her lips.

Adrian has never been the best player of any game of cards. In fact, half the time, he barely has an understanding of the rules beyond the basics of poker and blackjack. But what he can do, what's more important than playing chance, is his ability to lie his way through just about anything. Here, especially, where everyone has already drunk their way to the bottom of several glasses of potent moonshine and danced themselves nauseous.
He sets the rest of the cards aside, picking up his own dealt hand as he leans back in his chair. His brown eyes flick upwards as Katherine approaches in her short skirt and long legs, the long drape of her pearls drawing the eye to the low v-neck of her dress, a hint of cleavage showing itself. She smiles, and Adrian sees each man smiling in turn around the table at just the sight of her, prettier than most of the women shimmying their way through the speakeasy.
"Well look at you," one man in particular speaks, his black pork pie hat balance on a knee, his brown hair slicked back, and his mustache just as styled. "Want to be my lucky rabbit's foot tonight?" He asks, and his eyes drag over her lingeringly. A few of the others snicker, looking at her with same sort of appreciation. Adrian arches a brown subtly, and takes the opportunity to exchange a card from the deck with sly hands. "English here has been cleaning me out all night, but with you in my pocket, I think I'll make do."
"I'm not English." Adrian replies, pulling the cigarette from his lips, the small smile remaining as he blows out smoke.
"Eh, whatever," the man mutters dismissively. "Ya'll sound the same to me."

Kat hears a voice and she looks to the man with the pork pie hat and raises an eyebrow at him when he says about being his lucky rabbit's foot. Of course she couldn't really give him any luck because she knew that Adrian would actually thrash him. They had worked out a way for them to get the money, she would distract the men and Adrian would do something that would get him to win and for a while it had been working. Just like it was tonight, the men too distracted by Katherine to know that Adrian had exchanged a card.
She moved her eye over to Adrian when the man spoke about him being English and she let a smile pull at her lips. "I guess some people have all the luck" she said and chewed on her red lipstick. She knew it looked like blood but he knew it wasn't. "I'm not sure just how lucky I will be to you" she said turning back to look at the man who had the hat on his knee.
Card games like this was the way that they had money, the two of them working together but without making it so obvious that they were in fact together. Katherine had to admit that she liked this time, she liked the fact that the human race was moving onto better things and leaving the Victorian years behind just like the two vampires that they had in their midst.
"After all gentlemen cards really is a man's game and a simple girl like me doesn't know the way around a card so I don't think I will be as lucky to you as you deserve" she said acting all sweet and innocent... and human and even a little shy but of course it was all part of the game she liked to play with each different table that Adrian would sit at to win the money.

Adrian huffs out a faint laugh as he listens to Katherine's little speech, unable to help himself. While her effects are working, drawing all the eyes and attention of his opponents, but she's laying it a little thick. That doesn't seem to matter, however. This men are eating it up, letting Adrian steal a glance at the hand of the man nearest him when he leans forward to tap the ash off his cigarette into the small black ashtray.
"Aw, doll, I could teach you." The pork pie man replies, grinning wide. He lifts his hat from his knee and uses it to dusts his pants like a proper gentleman, sidling his legs out a little wide, "There you are, take a seat. Let me show you how a man's game is really played." He says with a wink. One of the other men huffs out a breath, annoyed that this one caught Katherine first, while the other just keeps bobbing his head and smirking, enjoying the show thanks to the bathtub whiskey he's been downing one glass at a time.
"Shall we start?" Adrian asks, setting the cigarette back to his mouth and tapping his cards lightly upon the table.

Katherine hears Adrian's faint laugh and she can't help but slide her eyes over towards him, a small smile pulling at her red lips. Of course the only reason she was doing this was because of the fact that Adrian was making money, they were like partners in crime. She distracted the men while he took their money and it worked so well. She worked the men that liked to look at her body, she knew what men liked and she used it against them. In a way she was the ultimate player and these men fell for it hook line and sinker.
She loved being a vampire in this time. She loved using her body like this to get what both her and Adrian wanted because in the end they would take the money home and roll in it. She was sure that others had tried it and had failed but these two were great and they were only getting started. Katherine was considering put down roots here for a while.
She looked at the pork pie man when he spoke and then grinned at her, he used his hat to brush off his pants so that she could sit on his leg. Katherine bit on her lip for a moment and pretended to think it over for a moment. "Well if you're sure" she said and then took a seat on the man's leg. Adrian spoke and she glanced over at him where a little smirk was pulling at her lips because she knew that she had definitely done her job for the evening. But of course in the end all the men were going to go home penniless but it clearly didn't matter to them just as long as they had Katherine at the table.
As she sat down on the man's leg her already too short dress rode even higher and if she positioned herself just right the pork pie man would be able to see her stockings and it would distract him but at the same time she knew that Adrian liked it when she wore them too but for him he liked taking them off more than her having them on. He liked running his hands down her legs as he removed them especially when she wore the short dresses that women now wore.

The men start lifting their cards, thumbing through their hands and putting on her best poker-faces as they inspect their chances of winning. All of them expect for the man with the hat, who's too busy licking his lips and looking down Katherine's dress. Adrian notices over the edge of his cards, and hides the small shake of his head behind a puff of smoke. "Now, look here darling..." the man begins, showing her his cards and explaining the rules as if he were the expert at this table, boasting and arrogant. One man folds, another throws a few more dollars into the pot, the pork pie man squeezes Katherine's ass just to make her jump a little. And when she does, he laughs and starts rubbing at her thigh.
Adrian rolls his jaw faintly, watching the man with a slightly narrowed eye.
He should be used to this, at least this game. He's never minded other men looking at Katherine, they will no matter what and who is he to be upset about a few lingering gazes, especially when those gazes are the reasons they go home with more money than when they arrived. But it's men like this, chauvinistic and handsy, that tickle a nerve.
Ever since New York, ever since that morning they kissed and undressed and slowly turned their running away into running to each other, pretending as if he doesn't like Katherine, doesn't like her lips, or her laugh, or her way she presses to him after a good night, has become harder to do. For a long time, he brushed it off as the circumstances of her solitude together, far away from the others, relying upon only each other. It's easy to think there's something more when they seem like the only person in the world who truly knows you. But recently...recently it's been difficult to ignore the flurry in his chest each time her fingers find their way into his hair, or the bolt of electricity that shakes down his spine when her whispers tickle at her ear.
And watching another man touch her... well that creates an entirely different feeling.
"I fold," the second man sighs, slapping his cards down onto the table and slumping back, arms folding over his chest.
"Looks like it's just me and you, English." The pork pie man says with a grin. Adrian pulls his cigarette from his lips, nestling it between his middle and forefinger, and glances back to his cards.
"I'll raise," Adrian comments, feeling a little reckless. He sets his cards down face-down, just to twist the daylight ring from his finger, an onyx stone embedded in the silver. He tosses it onto the pile before raising his cards once more.
