Tessa's fingers curl into his hair, gently finding purchase as he moves against her. Her second moan is louder, carrying the slight tremble that shakes her lips against his.
None of the thoughts he'd had earlier carry through his mind, lost in the creamy expanse of her skin as she remains wrapped around him. Jon knows the feeling will be brief, fleeting, gone just as quickly when morning comes and the cycle starts anew. He's come to expect it. Even after the slowly waning nights he spends with Katherine, each brand new sunrise brings with it a cold reminder that he is still here. Still walking the streets of places that always feel familiar. Still trying to find a purpose. Seven centuries and no answers have come for him. Only the gradual pull of loneliness in a crowded world.
Feeling that dreaded chill creep back into the stake of his heart, he turns away from the bookshelf, still cradling her against him, and carries Tessa to the couch within the loft. He lays her down across the cushions, remaining poised over her, and sinks back between her legs. His mouth finds her throat once more, teeth grating lightly over her porcelain skin, as he rocks against her. With a hand, he hikes her knee high against his hip, giving him more room to move with confidence. His lips brush across the length of her collar bone, breath hot against her flesh.

Tessa couldn't help but laugh softly when he carries her away from the bookshelf and over to the couch, he still cradled her against him and then put her on the cushions. There was something nice about looking up at Jon. If this was what their companionship was looking like then they were going to be busy.
He moves back into her and she arches up against him, her fingers sinking into the couch as he moved against her. He grated his teeth against her skin and she closed her eyes back up. Jon hikes her knee high and he moves in her more easily and she bites down on her lip when he moves his lips across her skin. His skin on hers was only making her feel that much hotter and she wanted to keep that for a moment. She wanted to keep him there just to warm her up. It was cold and lonely when it was just one person who never ages and never dies and maybe now Jon could keep her warm for a little bit.
A grin pulled at her lips before she rolled over, Jon landing on the couch and she leaned over him this time. Tessa's lips kissed his chest and her grey eyes looked up at him, the grin continuing to pull at her features. She moves back up his chest to his lips and kisses him once more before she moves against him.
Her heart thrumming hard in her chest.

It's only a moment before Tessa is suddenly taking control, rolling Jon onto his back on the confines of the couch and straddling his hips. As she kisses his chest, the hair that had come loose from her bun tickles across his skin, framing her large grey eyes as she looks up to him. He darts his tongue out to wet his lips, just before her mouth finds his again, the kiss heated and deep.
She moves with ease against him, rolling back and forth. His palms skim up her thighs, fingertips pressing tight against her skin, roughly feeling its smoothness. He does not know how the women he's been have remained so soft even with the passing of violent years. Ygritte had scars, plenty of them, but beneath the furs and leathers her skin had barely been touched by the ice and winds, white as snow and just as delicate. And Kat...Kat was a princess, a Queen, who had known the luxuries of rich creams and soaps from faraway places that left her soft as silk. She turned before the harshness of winter could change that. Before time could change that. It seems as if Jon is the only one who physically carries the scars of it all. The calluses. The markings.
They are paintings gilded in gold, and he is a marble statue weathered by the elements.
His hands skim to her hips, holding firm and guiding her against him.

Tessa moves against him when his palms skim up her thighs and up to her hips where he holds onto her and guides her against him. Strands of her dark hair tickle her skin and it makes her prickle even more. In honesty she never thought she had it in her to do this and they were making the loneliness go away but this felt good. This felt... not so lonely.
When it was over she was trying to calm her heart down, her skin was still prickling from the sex and she leaned her head back against the cushions behind her and laughed softly. "I never thought that would happen" she said and looked over at him, a smile pulling at her lips. If she was honest she actually didn't mind this sort of companionship, the two of them just being friends with benefits and that was okay with her.
Tessa wasn't sure what time it was but she guessed that it was late from how dark it really looked outside and at the moment she was contemplating staying here for the rest of the night, she had some clothes here and there was a bathroom of some sort out the back so she could easily still look amazing tomorrow when she didn't sleep at all the night before. She grabbed the blanket off the back of the couch and put it over themselves even if it wasn't really worth it. Her breathing calmed down a bit and she was able to control her heart enough to calm it down a little bit.

They unwrap themselves from around each other, relaxing back against the cushions of the couch and trying to calm their racing hearts. Jon breathes a little heavily, his skin and nerve endings alight. Tessa breaks the gradual quiet that had set in between them with a smile upon her lips, stretching out to pull a blanket over the both of their bodies. He looks to her, a faint smile of his own tugging at the corner of his mouth. Reaching over with a hand, he brushes a lock of her fallen hair from her face.
"No, neither did I." He admitted.
Coming here tonight had not been with the intention of getting her in bed with him, and even with all the flirting online and the lunch they'd shared a few days ago, he had not thought that this is where they would end up. Tangled and out of breath and lying naked beside one another. But worse things could have happened. He rolls onto his side to face her, shoving his own black hair back, letting his dark eyes skim over her face. His heart is starting to settle back to its normal rhythm.

He had brushed the lock of hair from her face and she bit on her lip once more. Well this definitely was an experience that she won't forget, she was allowed to have a little fun, Will would want that he would want her to not be so alone. But sometimes she couldn't control the loneliness. Sometimes it took her over and she couldn't allow that to keep happening. She couldn't allow the loneliness to take her over anymore and maybe with Jon here it's a little bit more bearable but at least he knows exactly what is going on and she wouldn't string him along.
He turned and she looked over at him, she rolled over onto her side too before putting her hand under her head. "Do you feel a little better?" she asks him and watches his face. Tessa knew that the loneliness wasn't going to go away over night or even completely but if the two of them can be friends then at least they could combat that together, no it's not going to be easy. It's not going to take one day or one week. It was going to take a bit of time but they had it. They had the time and right now she didn't have much going on in her life even if there were things that tried to pull her back into her own world.
A world that she didn't have much to do with but they knew where to find her, they always knew where to find her. Tessa had a lot of secrets and while none of them involved Jon she wasn't sure if she wanted to say what was going on just yet or if ever.

She turns to face him too, resting against the cushions alongside him. Her question makes him laugh a little, somewhat surprised by the sincerity of it. "That's not a question I often hear after having sex," he admits in a slight tease, an amused smile tugging at his lips and crinkling the edges of his eyes as he watches her. "But..." he adds on, shrugging his shoulder slightly and nodding a little, "I do feel better than I did when I came here."
He could say that he's never had sex just for the sake of keeping his mind preoccupied. He cannot count on a single hand the number of times Katherine has shown up at his door just to relieve a little stress, just to work through feelings, without having to say a single thing about it. But this is still somehow different. No strings attached. No feelings other than the one that knows he's attracted to Tessa for more than just her pretty eyes or lips. And the apprehension that had followed him here, the upset and apologetic hold on his heart, has lessened greatly. It's easy to forget loneliness when you have a woman such as her wrapped around you.
"Do you?" he asks, knowing that he is not the only lonely heart that needed a little mending. She had said as much before she led him upstairs.

Tessa laughs softly when he admits that her asking him if he felt better wasn't something he hears after having sex but it was the first question she could really think of. She could've just told him to go and she would see him whenever he needed someone to talk too but she didn't want to say that, while this was only about sex, she wasn't that cold. She wouldn't bring him in and then push him away. "I'm glad" she said with a smile.
She bit on her lip and then nodded. "I do" she admitted around a smile. "I've not been with anyone since my husband died so I do feel a bit better"
Tessa wasn't sure if that was what he wanted to hear but then again it was the reason why she felt lonely. Why she had set this shop up in the first place, a reason to get out of bed. Even though now it was eighty years since Will had passed and it was the time that made her forget just how blue his eyes had been or how his voice sounded. Even though he was Welsh, he only spoke in Welsh when he swore. It might have been that long but it didn't seem to get any better, it didn't seem to get any easier. She always had her one year meeting in London to look forward with James.
That made it easier but there were times when she found it hard, he knew about her shop and her life here but their meetings helped her especially when she was near the other man that she loved. Will and James, James and Will. Those two went hand in hand. Those two loved each other and loved her and it was the three of them. But he was also so far out of her reach that she couldn't grab hold of him so being here with Jon made things a little bit easier.

Jon's smile softens a little, fading around the edges at the mention of a dead husband he did not know she had. It should not surprise him. Tessa has been alive since the 1800s and she's beautiful. Any man would be lucky to call her his wife. But the price of immortality makes such a man hard to keep. He and Katherine, by some...strange twist of fate, found immortality after they found one another. A shred of luck perhaps. Though most days it does not feel like it. Even though he has her, even though he loves her, living this long, watching the world turn passed, seeing everyone else he has loved return to the dirt at his feet...it is not an easy thing. Not a lucky thing.
"I'm sorry." Jon murmurs, keeping his eyes upon her face. "I didn't know that."
He remembers what it felt like to lose Ygritte. Though at the time he had not been able to mourn. Not for long. War and wights and dragons forced him to move on. And Katherine was there to put together pieces that had already been long buried with his first love.
He could not imagine losing Katherine.

Tessa hears his apologises and she holds a hand up to quiet them. "It's okay" she said with a soft smile. Well it wasn't okay, it was the reason why she felt lonely but she just wasn't ready to love anyone else just yet. She wasn't ready to open her heart up to another man, it was already full for the love of two men and she wasn't sure if she had room for anyone else. Sure she would have to move on but she would do it when she was ready and not when everyone else expected her too.
She guessed that Katherine never told them much about her and that was okay with her. Tessa had her own problems when Katherine landed at her door asking her for a favour especially after hearing what she could do. She bit on her lip and looked around, and she never done it in a bookstore either so that crossed that off of her list. Tessa put her eyes back on his face and reached out to move a strand of his dark hair from his face.
"We don't have to do this again if you don't want too, we can just be friends and talk about books over lunch and coffee" she said and watched him. Tessa knew that Katherine would want to rip her head off if she found out about all of this and she never wanted to make her angry, she liked Katherine. Liked knowing that even a vampire who looked perfect in what she wore could have worries and get lonely too. She liked knowing that she wasn't the only immortal that didn't like the passing of time and still be on this earth.
But Tessa also knew that Katherine couldn't be without Jon.

Tessa silences his apologies and any questions he might have, her smile soft but sad. He lets his lips fall closed, not wanting to intrude on something that was none of his business. They might have just had sex, but pushing for more information about her husband, about what happened, would only ruin the simplistic comfort they've only now just found in one another. They have only just begun speaking after a hundred years of not seeing one another. It would be like her asking about Westeros. About Robb.
Some things are better left unsaid.
She brushes a strand of hair from his face before changing the topic, making the choice his now. He smiles a little around the corner of his mouth. "I would like us to be friends." He replies, keeping his own eyes locked upon hers as she watches him. "But I can't say that I didn't enjoy this." He admits, his smile ticking a little further for just a second. He does not even remember the last time he's lost himself in someone like this. With Katherine, there's more there than just sex. There is love, history, familiarity. Even just the times when they meet only to sleep with one another, it comes with strings that have bound them together for seven hundred years.
This was...none of that. Sex for the sake of sex. And it felt good.

Tessa smiled when he said that he would like them to be friends. She could do that, she did need more friends. She then laughed when he said that he enjoyed what happened between them and she chuckled and pulled the cover over her face for a second and then pulled it back and looked at him. "Me too" she admitted and then nodded. It felt good to just lose herself in him and forget that the world outside was hell.
To forget that she was even immortal for a moment even if he was immortal too. To just have a friend that she could talk about books with and alright if they got to do this too then they could do the friends with benefits and it would make everything a little less lonely. "Well the bookstore is open any time you want to pop in for a talk and lunch" she said smiling and as for the sex thing then they could really work on that. It would feel good to not be so lonely anymore.
Tessa looked around where they were lying and then sighed to herself. "I think I will be staying here for the night, but I don't mind it" she admitted. "I get to read and there is food here if I need any and coffee for the morning so I think I will be alright" she looked back over at him and then pulled her lip in between her teeth. "You know I heard about you from Katherine all those times that she came to see me but you were always a name without a face" she said and played with the cover. "Even if there was a time we nearly met in the 1800s but that didn't come to much"

"I'd like that." Jon replies with a small smile, once again a little amused by her sincerity. He can't imagine most conversations follow this same thread after two immortals fall in bed with one another -- invitations to lunch and talking about books. It's nice, actually.
She talks for a moment about now having to stay here for the remainder of the night, surrounded by all the books she loves and the coffee waiting downstairs for her. His own apartment sounds bleak in comparison. Despite living here for nearly half a year now, he hasn't done much with his place. Besides the obvious odds and ends necessary for living day-to-day existence, he has no decorations, no splurge items, nothing that says a single remote thing about him. It's easier that way. Easier to pack. Easier to move. Easier to leave this life behind when the time comes and move on to another. For years, his only possessions were the things he could pack in a single trunk.
That thought makes him want to stay here, upon this couch next to her, but perhaps that is a risk he should not take.
He rolls upwards to sit upon the edge of the cushions, and reaches out for his thrown aside clothes.
He glances back over his shoulder when Tessa mentions their brief meeting all those years ago, a meeting that didn't really have much substance. He smiles a little, then looks back to his shirt as he turns it back right-side out. "Hopefully she told you nothing bad." He says, tugging his shirt over his head.

Tessa watched as he started to get dressed and she done the same but less slower than him. Jon said he hoped that it was nothing bad that Katherine had said about him. It wasn't. It was mostly about how they met, how they had join forces and took back the home that had been her husbands and the home that Jon had grown up in.
"She loves you very much, you do know that" she said looking over at him. She put her underwear on and then her bra before she grabbed her shirt. But even over the last couple of times Katherine had seen her it was like she had wanted a bit of space from him. She loved him more than anything but they had been doing this for over seven hundred years and they both needed a break from each other.
It was probably why Jon was here and not with her, maybe Katherine had finally decided that they needed the time apart. Tessa put her shirt on and then pulled the cover over her legs for now, she put her leg up on the couch underneath her and leaned back against the cushion behind her. Her attention was on Jon and she watched him, even if it was the side of him.
Tessa knew with Will that she wouldn't get long but these two has had seven hundred years and Katherine still loved the same man as she did back then. She had even mentioned Robb, the man she had been married to before but she didn't say that to him because that was the last thing he probably wanted to hear after they slept together.
She pushed the dark strands of hair from her face to behind her ear.

Her words make him pause a little, a reminder that only makes him feel guilty when he's getting dressed after sleeping with another woman. Perhaps he should. "I know." He murmurs, rising to his feet to pull on his dark jeans, buttoning them at his waist. "And I love her." Jon reaches down to grab his shoes, tugging them on one-by-one, letting those words hang in the air. Even though he is here, even though he justifies this with the growing divide that's been forming between him and Katherine long before today, that fact will never change.
He's loved Katherine for seven hundred years, from the moment he pledged his army to her to right now, standing here in this bookstore. And they have fought in the past, argued, yelled, put half a world of distance between them, but they've always come back, always found each other, always loved each other. And he can not imagine loving anyone else. Not in this way. Not like he loves her.
Katherine is the only reason he's endured this existence for this long.
He tugs on his jacket and turns back to Tessa, giving her a small smile as he pushes his hair back out of his face. Reaching for his glasses sitting upon the shelf, his one last thing, he tucks them into his pocket rather than putting them on. There's no reason to hide his scars here. "So. Lunch?" He says, hoping the offer still stands. "Day after tomorrow? I can bring the coffee this time."
