Teresa raised her eyebrow at Nat when she asked if Graeme was a big fan. "Big fan doesn't even cover it" she admits before smiling softly. Captain America had been one of Graeme's heroes for as long as she could remember. Although she never knew how he actually came across Cap to even be a fan. She had never asked him but maybe she would eventually. But of course he had been so starstruck when Steve had turned up at their Christmas party but that hadn't stopped him from asking Steve so many questions that he had spent nearly two hours talking to him non-stop. Then they had played Never Have I Ever. Miranda's idea.
"I don't know, I think it's cute that guys have a hero because it gives them something to dream about, just like us girls do plus they try their best to be like that hero." Lexi said and looked over at both of the two females that she had been listening to for a little bit. She then looked back at the game and then scoffed at the two who looked like they were arguing but not really. Then everything went quiet between the two of them when Graeme asked if Barton was actually the archer. So clearly Teresa's boyfriend knew about her work husband. It was cute, in a weird way.
"I feel like now a fight is going to break out" Teresa said to the two girls and then bit on her lip especially when she had told him about the fact Lexi was trying to set her and Barton up. They had both cringed at the idea of ever being like that and then started arguing over who was the better archer. It was all very weird, their relationship. Because they seemed to have the arguing sibling thing down, even if they weren't actually related, where as her and Graeme were like a very hot couple even though they were sort of siblings. It was all too complicated. It gave her a headache just thinking about it if she was honest.

Nat remains quiet. She never really had a hero growing up. An inspiration. She had to fill that role herself, or she would have never survived childhood.
But she supposes Steve has that effect, even on her, even now. It's hard to explain. Most people view him as an icon of patriotism and honor, duty and courage, strength and freedom. And she sees it, sort of; mostly when Steve goes on his long-winded, poetic rants about doing the right thing. They don't happen too often, but often enough that Nat can't help but crack a smile just thinking about how serious his face gets. But it's always his actions that catch Nat off guard. His willingness to sacrifice himself. His ability to trust whole-heartedly. His ability to forgive.
It's never been difficult standing next to him. Standing with him.
"Eto snova my." Natalia murmurs under her breath, sipping at her drink for good luck.
"Teresa's mentioned you a few times." Graeme admits, tossing the virtual basketball. It swooshes through the net with ease, and JARVIS adds a number three under his displayed name. Barton furrows his brows, just a little, as he tried to determine if that comment was a challenge or mere polite conversation. He sounds casual, but...Barton doesn't do well with boyfriends.
Hell, he can barely manage girlfriends.
"Yeah, we uh...practice. Sometimes. Archery, I mean." Barton tries, but can feel his tongue tying up in a knot.
Sam silently dunks a ball into the virtual net before, literally, side-stepping the entire conversation and heading straight for where the girls are standing. As soon as his back is to Graeme and Barton, with only the three ladies in view of his face, his brows raise high in amused anticipation for just how terrible this could easily get.
"I'm glad." Graeme replies. "She's always been so passionate about it, but...I don't always have the time to train with her. Especially not after the accident."
Barton tips his chin upwards a little, rolling the fake ball around in his hands without really thinking about it.
"You wouldn't happen to be the same one who lived in Corpus Christi would you?" Graeme asks, a little teasingly, and Barton raises his brows.
"Uh..."
"Good evening, Captain Rogers." JARVIS chirps overhead, interrupting the conversation. "Mister Barnes." Everyone's heads swivel in the direction of the elevator, and the two tall figures standing there.
Nat grins, actually grins, when she sees the star-spangled uniform and the black leather jacket not where they're supposed to be.
Bucky fiddles a little uncomfortably with the red, white, and blue shield strapped to his metal arm; dark strands of his hair falling out of the messy bun at the back of his head and into his face. His arms are just slightly too bulky for the sleeves of the Captain America uniform, causing the fabric to stretch tightly across his broad shoulders and his wide biceps. The star sits firmly planted on his chest and, somehow, it suits him extremely well.
He doesn't seem to notice the staring, but Steve does; with the black makeup smeared across his eyes and his usually tamed hair in a disarray. The leather jacket hugs his figure firmly, showing off his chest and narrow waist. He doesn't have the arm, but Bucky's mask dangles from his fingers.
Sam has to bite his fist to keep from breaking out in raucous laughter.
"Did we...interrupt?" Steve asks, blinking.
"Thank god you did." Nat replies, looking them both up and down.

Teresa could actually feel herself tense up just by the fact that Graeme and Clint were talking. It was like trying to keep a husband and a lover from not meeting. It wasn't going very well and she wanted to hide away from the impact. These two hadn't met before and this might actually be the very reason why. With the amount of stuff that she had told Graeme about Barton, mostly that he too was an archer and Lexi tried to set them up with each other, she wasn't sure how it would actually go down.
Lexi moved her eyes away from the other two guys when Sam came over and joined them and she cleared her throat before glancing over at Graeme and Clint and in honesty she expected that ball to be thrown at Graeme or the other way around, even if it didn't actually hurt either one of them. She moved her eyes back and looked at Sam before biting on her lip. If she was honest, she wouldn't like to be in Teresa's position and that is why she is so glad that Jake didn't know about her involvement with the group. There was something's a husband should know and this had to be one of them.
Teresa was going to say something but was spared the opportunity by Steve and Bucky turning up and her mouth fell open because she had to admit that they looked really good as each other. "You only interrupted the fact that Lexi was going to hit on Sam" she teased and looked over at the dark haired girl beside her who shrugged a shoulder as if she had no shame. Her eyes then moved from Steve and over to where Graeme and Barton was. At least they weren't killing each other... Yet.

Sam raises his brows even higher, and slowly turns his head to look down at Lexi by his side. "Oh really?" He teases, dropping his fist from his mouth and grinning wide at her. He's already a couple drinks deep, the giggly side starting to show through, and the usual inhibition at careless flirting with Lexi had long dissolved. Hell, at this point Sam could start flirting with anyone, as they all know pretty well at this point.
Steve huffs out a slight laugh and steps forward, Bucky following behind as soon as he finally gets the shield in a comfortable position. "Well then, I guess this really is a party." Steve jokes a little in return.
"There's definitely enough booze." Bucky comments, reaching out with his right hand to pluck up a bottle of vodka. Gold flakes circle around at the base of the tear-drop bottle, and he swirls the liquor a few times to get them dancing like snowflakes in a globe. Not even bothering with a glass, Bucky twists the top off with his teeth, and carries the bottle with him away from the table. "Salute." He says as he passes by the group, holding the bottle in the air for a beat before downing a long swallow.
Steve watches after him with a smirk, before setting his attention onto Teresa and Lexi. "Glad to see you guys could make it. Though I don't know how eventful this is all going to be." He admits, glancing around the rest of the penthouse. As far as he knows, tonight it's just going to be their little gang. Which, usually, would be plenty. But they're all still a little beat from the night before, when Tony threw part one of her Halloween extravaganza, except the whole of Manhattan was invited to that one.
"I'm sure we'll find some way to pass the time." Nat replies, a smug little smile playing on her black-painted lips.

Lexi looks over at Sam when he teases before she dramatically sighs. "There goes my plan" she said and then shakes her head before smirking at Sam. There was denying that her and Sam flirted all the time and nothing ever came out of it. Mostly because of the fact that she was very, very, much married. But that definitely didn't stop them from flirting. There had even been a bet to see when her and Sam would actually sleep together. She can honestly say that everyone, who bet that they would do it, actually lost. They pretty much the opposite of Barton and Teresa. She got on so well with Sam that it was sometimes scary.
Teresa chuckled under her breath when Bucky walked passed them with the drink before she set her eyes on Steve. "To be honest, I wouldn't miss it for the world, Barton did ask last night but I had stuff that I had to take care of so there was no way that I would actually be able to make it then so here we are now" she smiled and then looked over at Nat when she seemed to have a little bit of smugness in her tone. "I'm kind of scared of that smile" she teased before finishing up her drink. It was times like these when she was glad that Graeme didn't drink because he would actually drive home, even if it was more than likely that they would end up staying at the Plaza. Another first for Graeme because he hadn't stayed there before.
She bit on her lip once more and put her eyes on Steve. "I definitely like your outfit" she said with a smile. Steve looked different but he looked really good in Bucky's outfit.

"Well, either way. It's good to see you." Steve smiles. He could provide plenty of reasons and excuses for why they hadn't seen each other in a long while - the biggest being the endless stream of missions that SHIELD hands down to him - but the excuses don't matter. Teresa is, other than Bucky, his oldest friend. He might know Nat better, he might have worked with Barton more extensively, but Teresa was there long before Captain America ever was.
Even if it was for just a single dance.
"I think I'll have to agree with that. You're not planning on living up to your costume, are you?" Steve asks, looking at Natalia's well thought-out Wednesday costume. He's seen the movie once, thanks to Nat last October when she made him watch a string of so-called traditional Halloween movies to get him into the spirit of the holiday. It suits her. Even, strangely, the braids.
"Only if you do." Natalia teases, reaching up to fix the collar of the leather jacket to subtly hide the faint red mark on his neck.
Steve laughs a little, glancing towards Teresa. "Thank you. We uh...didn't really plan for a costume party." He shrugs a little.
"Clearly, but you're still somehow cooler than everyone here." Barton pipes up, appearing to the right with a cup full of candy corn. "By the way, T. Your boyfriend is trying to make small talk with Buck, you might want to rescue him." He comments, popping a kernel in his mouth and nudging his head towards the couch.

"It's good to see you too" she admitted with a smile. In fact the last time she saw Steve and the others, it was Valentine's day. So definitely a long time ago. A lot had happened since then and most of it she just couldn't explain to Steve as right now wasn't the best time to say anything. If she even explained what sort of relationship she and Steve had and why they just seemed to click. It was something that even Barton didn't understand and probably wouldn't ever understand.
She looked over at Nat when Steve said about her costume and she smiled to herself. Teresa had to admit that she looked really good and definitely not like herself. She looked down at her glass and found that it was empty and she was going to get herself another drink when both Steve and Barton, who had now joined them so clearly the game was over, were speaking to her. She nodded when Steve said about the fact they didn't plan for a costume party. Surprisingly she had and now she was looking like a bat. It was Graeme who hadn't had time to change. He had gone as a cop.
Speaking of Graeme, she had caught what Barton had said to her and she looked over to see that he was right. Graeme was trying to talk to Bucky and it wasn't going very well. Teresa pushed her glass into Barton's hand. "I'll have a double of anything strong" she said and then moved around both Steve and Barton and towards where Graeme and Bucky were. This definitely was going to take some careful thinking and very good planning to get Graeme away from Bucky. Teresa just hoped she could do it.

Barton takes the glass roughly pushed into his hands, nearly spilling the candy corn in the process. "Uh. Okay. On it." He replies, a little surprised by the suddenness of her reaction. He bites onto the lip of his candy cup and reaches for the nearest bottle of whiskey, making use of both hands.
Steve turns a little to glance back, eyes following Teresa to the sitting area. Bucky stands stock straight, drinking right from the bottle while Graeme awkwardly lingers a step away, trying desperately to start a conversation. Steve huffs out a quiet breath, something close to a laugh as he watches for a second longer.
That is definitely a familiar sight.
"Think I should help her?" Steve asks, eyes fixed on Bucky. Nat steps to his side and places her elbow upon his shoulder, leaning heavily into him.
"You could." She says with a small shrug.
"I'll give it a minute." Steve teases mischievously, crossing his arms over his chest.
"James, right?" Graeme asks, a little hesitantly. It's been nearly a year since they last met, but he looks practically the same. Maybe a little neater, a little healthier, a little happier. The stubble on his jaw is trimmed down to a five o'clock shadow and the dark shadows around his eyes don't seem so heavy. There's a few smears of black makeup on his throat and on the tip of his nose, but Graeme hardly notices it.
"Mmhmm." He replies in a hum, pulling the lip of the bottle from his mouth and swallowing down, but not really looking at him.
"I think we met last Christmas. I'm Graeme, Teresa's boyfriend."
Bucky finally turns his head just enough to glance Graeme over once, up and down. Slowly, a flicker of recognition spreads across his ice blue eyes. "Ri-ight." He drawls out, tipping his chin upwards. "Steve's number one fan." He smirks a little, like it's his own personal joke.

Teresa makes her way to where Bucky and Graeme were standing and bit on her lip. She could just leave Bucky and Graeme to it. She could go and challenge Lexi or one of the others to a game of pool seeing as it looks like Sam and Lexi had disappeared, no doubt to actually work on her flirting skills.
She finally got to them, after what felt like a long time and just caught what Bucky had said about Graeme being Steve's number one fan. In honesty that was actually true. His obsession with Steve had started a long time before she was even born and was still kept up today. Teresa didn't know the reason behind Steve being his hero but she was sure that it was pretty important whatever it was.
Teresa came up to Graeme's side and smiled at Bucky before putting her brown eye's on Graeme. "Maybe now isn't the right time to get into a conversation with Bucky" she said softly and then bit down on her lip. "Plus I'm sure there are still more of this room to see" she admitted and looked around herself. It was definitely bigger than anything she had ever seen. "By the way you owe me a game of pool" she said and then glanced over her shoulder at Bucky and gave him an apologetic smile. She doubted whether he would actually see it or not. He looked like he was on his way to being blissfully drunk. Maybe Teresa would actually join him. Might get rid of the pain in the back of her head that was starting to form.

"No, no. It's just fine." Bucky replies, leaning one hip against the back of the suede couch. He cocks his head to the side and looks Graeme over once more in a less predatory way than usual. More like he's amused to see Graeme again. If Steve didn't know better, he'd say Bucky was already drunk. "Did you bring your baseball cards?" Bucky calls after him, a hint of a smile lingers around the edges of his mouth, and Steve decides maybe now he should jump in.
Steve quickly maneauvers out from under Nat's arm and to Bucky's side, giving him a slight smack against the thigh with the back of his knuckles. Bucky glances up, his grin widening.
"What?" He muses, innocently.
"It's nice to see you again, Graeme." Steve says to the police officer with a slight smile.
Graeme nods his head in return, but lets himself be pulled away by Teresa. "No baseball cards, unfortunately." He jokes back, and Steve chuckles a little.
"See? He thought it was funny." Bucky snorts.

Teresa was actually glad that Graeme didn't cause a fuss or want to stay there talking to Bucky She slides one hand into Graeme's and then smiles at Steve before clearing her throat. Maybe bringing Graeme had been a bad idea, but to be honest it would do them good to actually stay away from Mystic for the night. There was no drama here, and they could have as much fun as they wanted because Lexi had said they could stay in the Plaza.
She couldn't see the dark haired woman anywhere so she assumed that she was off with Sam. She cleared her throat and took her drink from Barton before looking over at Graeme once more. Teresa knew that he meant well but others could just take him for bugging and the last thing she wanted was for someone to tell him where to go.
Teresa then gave the others a smile before pulling Graeme over to the pool table. "Okay how about we make this interesting" she said and put her glass down on a small table next to the pool table before looking over at Graeme. "If either one of us wins then we get to name the prize and the other has to do it without complaining" she teased and raised her eyebrow at him. "Sound fair?" She knew that he would rather stay and talk to Bucky but when he was getting drunk, the best thing to do was give him a wide berth.

"Uh huh," Steve replies, giving Bucky a disbelieving look. "You have makeup on your nose." Bucky furrows his brows, the smile dropping into a slight frown. He stands up straight and swipes the back of his hand across his nose vigorously. Steve simply grins at him. "Now that's funny." With a scoff, Bucky bumps him with the shield and lifts the bottle to his mouth once more.
"Attention ladies and gentlemen!" Tony's voice suddenly rings through the penthouse. Steve looks away from Bucky and over his shoulder, catching sight of the billionaire as she walks down the last few steps of the staircase. Her voice is made metallic by the mask over her head, but it's a sound Steve has gotten far too used to on their missions together. He's surprised she didn't just wear her Iron Man suit tonight, considering it was practically the same costume except without the cape. "Oh you're here. Good." She says, pointing straight at Steve. His brows dart upwards. "We can get on with the night's entertainment."
"Please don't tell me you opened a portal and unleashed hell upstairs as a party gag." Barton groans, looking suspiciously towards the staircase.
Tony swings her hand to point at him, and is quiet for an almost terrifying second. "No." She finally says, and Barton's shoulders slump a little in relief. "But that's a good idea." Bucky rolls his eyes and swigs another gulp of straight vodka. "I have the next best thing." She says as she makes her way to the center of the large, open space, drawing even Sam's attention who'd been otherwise busy laughing with Lexi behind the bar.
"The plague?" Natalia deadpans, taking a seat on the edge of the couch and crossing her legs.
"This."
With a thump, Tony sets a giant Erlenmeyer flask on the metal coffee table. A swirling, golden liquid fills the entire triangular basin, and everyone leans in a little bit to get a better look. A slight metallic scent wafts from the glass flask. Barton's mouth pulls down at the corners, and he looks up towards Tony expectantly.
"Kool-aid?"
She pulls off her helmet and sets it down onto the table as well, blowing the strand of hair out of her face. "I've been working on it for a while. I call it Felix Felicis."
"Felix what?" Sam barks out. "You stole a Harry Potter reference?"
"The hell is Harry Potter?" Bucky retorts, dark brows pressing close.
"A book series about a wizard and the power of love." Tony summarizes quickly and sarcastically, talking fast like she usually does when she's about to say something ridiculous. "And yes, I stole the name from it, but," She finally gets to. "This is better than liquid luck. This is the cocktail of the gods. Based on my father's studies on soldier serum, courtesy of the Star Spangled Wonder here," She says, waving a hand towards Steve, "and based off of a recent werewolf beer brand that I...casually...purchased on the black market, I created an alcoholic beverage that's, if my calculations are correct and they always are, thirty-two percent stronger than the strongest alcohol in the world meaning that it's two-hundred and fifty proof and officially illegal in all fifty states."
"You made...alcohol...that's more than one hundred percent alcohol?" Barton says slowly, blinking.
"That isn't possible." Graeme comments, distracted from the game of pool and diving into the conversation. "That would, at the very least, kill you."
"Yes and no." Tony says. "It might kill me," She says, placing a hand on her chest. "But someone who, say, has regenerative cells that made them survive seventy years in solid ice...theoretically would survive and probably have a great time."
All eyes turn on Steve except for Bucky's, whose watching Tony like a hawk.
"You went to all this trouble...to get me drunk?" Steve asks, in disbelief at how easily he can actually believe this.
"Basically, yes."

Teresa could honestly say that she was losing, or was she?Maybe she had a plan up her sleeve and was about to go with it when she heard some call out and she stopped before coming to a halt next to Graeme before then leaning back against pool table. She used the pool cue as something to lean her arm on.
In honesty she had actually forgotten about Tony Stark, even if they were at her party. Both Graeme and Teresa had made their terms and then started to play the game. Her eyes moved away from Stark and over to the bar where she found Lexi. So that was where she was.
She listened to what Tony was saying and looked in at the golden liquid before raising her eyebrow. Tony then went onto to explain what it was and she was happy to find out that she didn't have to even try it. Especially when she was sure that nothing done by Stark was actually that safe anyway. Maybe that was her own personal judgement of the woman.
"You can't be serious" Teresa said and raised her eyebrow. "I mean you actually expect Steve to drink that stuff?" she then shook her head. Although a part of her was interested to see just how Steve would be as a drunk but another part of her was worried about his safety, especially when it would actually kill anyone that hadn't been frozen for over seventy years.
It actually got her thinking back to the couple of days she had spent with him before he had become Captain America. Had he ever got drunk then? Teresa couldn't actually remember.

"Maybe just a little." Tony shrugs at Teresa innocently.
"I feel like I should ask why, but..." Steve begins, staring at the golden liquid with his brows still furrowed. "A part of me really doesn't want to know."
"Loosen you up? I had a week off." Tony replies, as if it is really as simple as that.
"Hilarious." Steve bites back, sounding a little more annoyed than he intended to. Truth is, he knows it's a joke. A jab. Steve has lost track of the amount of times Tony has told him to take it easy, especially on missions. It's no secret to anyone in this room, with the exception of maybe Teresa and Lexi and Graeme, and he and Stark don't get along all that well. They live in the same building, work the same missions, see each other practically ever single day, but they butt heads nearly every second of that time they spend together.
Tony has her strengths. She's incredibly intelligent, quick on her feet, a good strategist and an excellent fighter, but sometimes she's so far up her own ass-
"I'll try it." Bucky says, breaking through Steve's increasingly rising temper. He sets the shield down against the couch cushions, takes the few steps towards the coffee table, and picks up the flask of golden alcohol.
Steve's temper suddenly flat-lines, and his shoulders sag a little as he watches Bucky swirl it around like a scientist inspecting it. "Buck, come on, that stuff is probably lethal."
Bucky sniffs it a little. "Ain't gonna let your dumb ass try it first." He says, giving Steve that same disapproving look he used to give him back when they were kids and Steve was trying to pick a fight with Andy Horowitz. "'Sides. I've survived worse."
"Buck. Seriously-"
"Stevie, I'll be fine. And if I keel over, just plant one on me." Bucky retorts with a flash of a smile and a wink. Steve shuts up almost instantly, his cheeks turning a distinct shade of pink. "Any suggestions?" Bucky asks, turning his attention on Tony who looks plenty pleased. "Hold my nose? Count to ten?"
"For starters, take it slow." Tony replies. "You're the first test subject after all."
"Swell." Bucky murmurs, shifting his weight from one foot to the other. "Well. Bottoms up."
"Buck-"
Before Steve can stop him, Bucky has the lip of flask to his mouth and is swallowing down long, slow sips.
"Jesus, this is better than television." Barton comments, hopping over the back of the couch to plop down right next to Natalia. After a long second in which Steve's chest feels on the verge of bursting, Bucky finally pulls the flask away from his mouth, and immediately presses the back of his metal hand to his mouth. He swallows hard, the flask outstretched to Stark who takes it quickly to avoid anything spilling. Steve has one hand already reaching for him, ready to catch him or hit Tony or he doesn't even know what, but-
"Sweet fuckin' Jesus, Mary, and Joseph." Bucky breathes out, voice tight and strained.
"You alright?" Steve asks, heart pounding.
Bucky huffs out a giggle -an actual giggle- and sways a little on his feet. "Ohhh yeah." He replies, before clearing his throat roughly. Steve steps forward quickly to place a firm hand on his shoulder. "Shit, this stuff is better than Dum Dum's moonshine."
"What?" Steve breathes out, not sure if he should laugh or slap the shit out of Bucky for even trying this.
"You gotta try it, Steve, it goes straight to your lungs."
"I'll try it." Nat suddenly says, rising to her feet.
"Nat, you're joking." Barton blurts out, watching her as she takes the flask from Tony without hesitation. "Please tell me you're joking." Nat wiggles her brows at him before lifting the flask to her mouth. She fills her mouth slowly and swallows it down like it's a pill the size of a fist. "Oh god." Barton gapes. Her face scrunches up as she passes it back to Tony, but she remains firmly planted on her feet.
"Der'mo." She chokes out in Russian.
"Ya govoril tebe." Bucky replies in a slight laugh, doubling over to put his hands on his knees and suck in a breath.

Teresa honestly thought that Tony was completely insane if she thought that Steve would actually drink the stuff. In fact if anyone would actually drink it but then again who was she to go against Tony Stark. She was going to open her mouth and say something when Bucky said he would try the drink. Then he really was insane.
Now she could really see why Steve and Tony didn't get along. Just in the words that were being exchanged between them. She bit on her bottom lip but she could hear Barton talking and she moved her brown eyes over to look at him as he hopped over the back of the couch. Of course he would find all of this interesting. She rolled her eyes before shaking her head and moved her eyes back to Bucky and watched as he drank some of the stuff that Tony had made.
Teresa then looked very shocked when Bucky actually giggled. She was sure that this Bucky had been incapable of such noise but for some reason she didn't see this Bucky, she saw the one that she met back in Brooklyn in the '40s and she cleared her throat softly. Bucky said that Steve had to try the drink and said that it would go straight to his lungs. "I'm pretty sure it'll go elsewhere and definitely not his lungs" she huffed out to Graeme before putting the cue back on the pool table and crossing her arms over her chest as she watched Nat take a drink of the gold stuff.
She raised her eyebrows when both Nat and Bucky started to talk in Russian, Teresa moved her eyes away from the two and over to Lexi who shrugged at her but she could see the look on her face when she looked back at the other two, mostly because they were either really stupid or really needed to get illegally drunk.
Teresa reached behind her and knocked back her own drink and was glad to say that she really wasn't going to go anywhere near the stuff that Stark had made. But she did plan on getting drunk but on the stuff that was pretty much safe. If anyone could really say that about alcohol.
