Tessa looks over at the pack of smokes and she nods before taking the one from him, after he shook one loose for her. She leans forwards as he lights it for her and she takes a long drag before leaning back against the wall behind her, after sitting back down on the chest. After a moment she takes the cigarette out of her mouth and blows the smoke out. She was starting to calm down now that her heart was getting back to normal.
She looked around the hallway as she put the cigarette back to her mouth. In honesty she had waited for her father to turn up guns blazing and telling her that he would keep his promise, that he would kill Bucky because she was still seeing him. But what worried her more was the fact that he had threatened her. If she ever disobeyed him again... Before she could stop herself she took the cigarette from her mouth and said softly. "What is your take on controlling people?" she asked and moved her eyes up to look at him.
This was really unusual for her to ask a male that she had just had sex with but at the moment he was the only one she could speak too, mostly because of the fact that Lu-Ann was out on some date with Brad and Bucky was the only person in this house that she could say anything too. She wasn't sure just what she expected him to say, anything was better than hearing her father's words to her. Threatening her with killing Bucky, but what actually made him think that she would care whether or not Bucky did end up dead? It wasn't like she was there to hold his hand and tell him to stay out of trouble. He was a bodyguard of a rival gangster, if that's what they could call Peggy, he knew all about the dangers that came with the job. It wasn't her job to baby sit him and clean his cuts up when he came home from a fight. If she wanted to do that then she would marry someone but that was the last thing she wanted to do.
Her dark brown eyes fell on him once more before she then looked down at her cigarette, in honesty she really didn't feel like smoking it but she was going to end up doing it anyway. At that thought she put the smoke back to her mouth and took a drag of it.
Maybe she should be throwing him out rather than talking to him like he was her friend, because that was the last thing she wanted from him. A friendship would lead down a dark path, even if she was pretty sure that's the way she was heading anyway after screwing Bucky twice. In the same house as the man who had threatened to kill him. Maybe she really was messed up.

Bucky lights her cigarette and then his own; holding the flame close. He flicks the lighter shut and tucks it back into his pants pocket, breathing out a stream of smoke through his nostrils. He raises a brow a little at Tessa's question, silently wondering what brought it to mind. He doesn't have to think too long and hard about it to decide that maybe, just maybe, she's talking about her own father. Most dads are controlling. Bucky hasn't met one who wasn't. But he can't imagine what it must be like to be the daughter of a wealthy mobster. Even if Scott Argent was just a business man alone, business is all about control. Throw in the almost sadistic tight reigns that the mafia like to keep on things, and he can see why she's been so eager to drag the guy her father hates right into her bed for the past two nights.
He pulls the cigarette from his mouth after a long inhale, and lets the remaining smoke trail out of his mouth as he replies. "We talking...mind control," He comments a little teasingly, though his expression doesn't show it. He waves his cigarette a little in the air. "Or just general control? Cause I was in the Army. I have plenty experience with both." It's mostly a joke, but then again, mostly not.

Tessa can't help but smile when he teases her about mind control. Sometimes she feels like it. But then again if it was mind control then having sex with Bucky would definitely be wiped clear of her mind, plus people that she already cared about would be gone too. She hated to admit it but Scott held all the cards when it came to Tessa. Last night she had cried until she couldn't cry anymore and then had dragged herself into bed where she stayed until this morning. If that was anything to go by, he could make her life a living hell and maybe that's what he was doing right now.
Sending her down a path so in the end she would only have to rely on him. Tessa would be completely under his control and he would love it. She knew damn well that he would. But right now was not the time to be talking about this and definitely not with Bucky. If she wanted someone to talk too then she would get a husband so that she could lay in bed with them after sex and talk about stuff that was on her mind.
That definitely wasn't Bucky.
Tessa put the cigarette back to her mouth and inhaled before she took it from her mouth and letting the smoke out and as she did she brought her eyes up to him and let a smile pull at her lips. "It's nothing" she said and nodded before she stood up from the chest. But the one thing she really did need was a drink and she was sure that she could find where her father put his stash. "Want something to drink?" she asks and then looks towards the kitchen. She doubted the drink would be in the kitchen, but it was one of the best places to start. That and her father's study. She glanced towards the door and bit down on her lip.
She had to be more careful if she didn't want to release her father's secrets, even if she was seriously tired of carrying them around with her. He was a bastard and he should play for his crimes but not right now. Now she was going to find that drink before said father does turn him and ruin this night.

Tessa changes her mind, but he at least gets a little smile from her. It's a start, he thinks, but she's by no means ready to sell her father out to a two-bit gangster like him. He'll get something eventually, if he gets anything at all. It could be something as simple as knowing that her father has a gambling problem and a mistress named Vanessa, or something as big as the dates and times of his meetings. But Bucky doesn't know many daughters who would willingly hand over a secret date-book to an absolute stranger, no matter how much of a controlling prick he is. Luckily, Tessa isn't their only lifeline.
"You sure it's nothing?" Bucky asks a little more seriously, knowing he could just as easily drop the subject. Yet she does look concerned despite her nonchalance, and he's never really known when to keep his mouth shut. "I saw you earlier. You were upset." Upset is putting it lightly. It wasn't until Bucky seemingly offered her a good distraction that she actually perked up. But distractions only last for so long. Even the good ones.
He knows plenty about that.
"You don't have to tell me a thing if you don't want to." Bucky sighs a little, looking down to his cigarette as he flicks the ash off of it. He glances back up to her and shrugs his shoulders a little. "But I'm not so bad in the listening department."

Tessa looks down at her cigarette before biting on her lip. She was tired, but it wasn't the sort of exhaustion that you could get rid of after a few hours sleep, no this was exhaustion that never seemed to go away no matter how much sleep she got, it was because of the fact that she was completely exhausted of her father being a complete prick. Her mind went back to all the stuff he had got her. The clothes, the shoes. That ability to keep an eye on the business once in a while, the secrets that he never seemed to hide from her like he did her mother and yet, he still never understood her want at all did he?
He never understood her.
She cleared her throat and then stood up from the chest before putting her cigarette out in one of the ashtrays that they seemed to have by the door, or at least she thinks they're ashtrays. If not then they were seriously ugly art. She pulled her lip in between her teeth and looked over at Bucky when he said he wasn't so bad in the listening department and she gave a slight smile. "It's not someone else's problem to bear" she admitted. Like the fact that she never went to Graeme about her problems because she knew what he would do. He would try to do everything he could to make it all right.
Nothing could make it right.
Tessa had grown up believing that all father's were like hers. That he hated one child and loved the other, that all father's were supposed to be controlling, that they would make sure bodyguards never lost sight of someone but she knew that it would only last so long before it all came crashing down.
Could Tessa be the spark that starts that fire?
"I definitely need that drink" she found herself saying and rubbing at her cheek with light fingers. Maybe drinking more would be bad due to the fact that she had already had enough but it was all up to her on whether or not she wanted more drinks. It was all about taking control of her own life and when she had had enough.
Tessa moved towards the living room where she knew they had a drinks cupboard before she stopped and opened her mouth to say something, she hesitated for a moment before shaking her head and carried on to the drinks. She would spill everything to someone, someday, but she highly doubted it would be to someone who she had had sex with twice and who her father hated so much.

Bucky tips his chin upwards a little as Tessa sidesteps the offer. In truth, he can't blame her. He's had the same mindset since he was eight; no one else needs to hear his problems. It makes his job a little harder than if Tessa was a chatty-Kathy who did nothing but unload every single one of her grievances onto his shoulder like a reprieve, but Bucky wouldn't be doing this if it were easy. None of them would.
Tessa drifts off in search of that drink she craves, and Bucky glances towards the watch around his wrist. He shakes it out from beneath the cuff of his sleeve to look at the time. Last night, her father had come home around this time, and he really didn't want a repeat of what happened. As fun as jumping out of her window had been, and as lucky as he is, he doesn't need a price on his head just yet. "I should probably get going," He admits, stepping a little ways after her. He leans a shoulder against the wall as she searches for the liquor cabinet. Despite her nonchalance and her wish not to talk about it at all, she definitely seems determined to forget whatever it is that's bothering her. "Don't wanna tempt fate." He smiles a little around the edges of his mouth.

Teresa looks over her shoulder when Bucky says that he should get going and she found herself nodding. It was better if he wasn't anywhere near here when her father came home, not that he was the last time but his damned hat had been. She bites on her lip before she lets a slight smile pull at her lips when he says about tempting fate.
Yes, I don't need a good slap again for mouthing off
"It's best if you go early" she said after stopping her search for where the drink that she knew her father had in the house. Knowing Scott he probably put it out of her reach after his anger spiked the night before.
Tessa cleared her throat before she looked down, "Maybe it's best if we don't have another night like this for a little bit" she admitted and then brought her dark brown eyes up to look at him. It was all a bit too much for her, she had never been with the same guy twice and while she wasn't falling for him, it was overwhelming to know that she had been with Bucky twice. She found herself needing to do other things.
It didn't mean they couldn't see each other, if he still wanted to talk to her, but maybe the sex was a bit too much. And that was coming from her, but even Tessa needed a break sometimes.
Plus keeping Bucky around would be nice, in a weird way.

There is a slight pause of disappointment when Tessa asks to put things on hold. He usually knew how that went. They take a break, put some distance, and then the distance is never shortened again. He has by no means fallen for this girl, not after two nights of reckless abandon, but there is a lot more to this so-called relationship then casual sex. Putting things on hold might kill any chances of ever gaining anything.
But Bucky brushes it off. Not just because he can, but because the situation calls for it, and he gives her a small nonchalant smile. "Yeah. Sure. No problem." He's about to turn away when he spots a slip of paper sitting on a corner table. He takes a long stride towards it and plucks it up, glancing on either side to see if it's anything important. It's nothing more than a laundry ticket. Tugging a black pen from inside his jacket, he quickly scribbles a phone number on the blank side.
"Here," he says, writing down the last digit. "You ever wanna...say, get dinner or something, call me." He slides the pen away as he walks back to where she's standing. Bucky holds the slip of paper in between his middle and forefinger, and extends it out towards her.

Tessa nods when he agrees, well to be honest he has no choice because of the fact that it was going to happen anyway. Her father was a dick, there was no way around that and maybe parading Bucky in front of him was a dangerous idea but it all came down to the fact that while she could call herself brave, what happened the night before had scared her more than she would admit. It was only the sex that they had to stop. It was all a little bit too much.
She needed more time to do something else. The warning that Scott gave her seemed to echo in her ears but she was promising herself that that definitely didn't have anything to do with this. Maybe she needed to get her head on straight, well as straight as she could get it. Maybe get back in her father's good books, make him think that he had won. Be the perfect daughter, but all the while hating everything that he stood for. Hating everything that he was. Maybe then once and for all she could fight her demons when it came to her father.
Tessa watched as she moved over to the corner table and raises her eyebrow when he picks something up and starts writing something down. In honesty she didn't know what she expected but it definitely wasn't his number. Maybe they did have some sort of understanding. She reaches her hand out to take the slip of paper and gives him a smile. "I might just do that" she admitted before she slipped the piece of paper down the front of her dress.
She then looks up before biting on her lip. "Please try to keep out of trouble" she mutters before putting one of her hands on her hips. Actually, him getting into trouble is what pulled her in, that and the fact that her father seemed to hate him so much. "Actually, you know what, don't listen to that" she huffs out a soft laugh before looking down at the ground.
