[I'm making it sometime other than winter. I freakin' hate winter]
She rushed down the long hallway to the unusually large high school. It was her first day and she was already late. Great. She skidded to a halt, nearly slipping and falling on her face, when she finally found the classroom number she was looking for. Out of breath with her curly blond hair bobbing with each intake of air, she pushed open the door and poked her head into the class. The entire classroom, including the teacher, turned to look at her. Jessica suddenly felt very self-conscious. "Uh...Is this Mrs. Verden's class?" She asked hesitantly, stepping completely into the classroom. The teacher nodded, walking towards her. Jessica readjusted the strap of her The Doors bag on her shoulder as she handed the old woman the slip. "Take a seat wherever there is one. You managed to get here five minutes before the lunch bell." The teacher huffed, balling up the piece of paper and tossing it into the trash. Jessica smiled nervously at her before walking quickly towards the only empty chair at the back of the class. She dropped her bag heavily on the ground, slid into the seat, rested her elbows on the desk, and let her head fall into her hands.

[Me to. Cant wait for summer. Not that we actually have much of one]
Deano looked up from what he was writing to the girl who had come through the door. He glanced at the time and then scoffed before hitting the pad with the end of his pen. His green eyes watched her walk down the row of desks and finally find one right near him. He shook his head and waited til the class room was talking again to turn to look at her. "First days are always rough, trust me" he's had so many of them that he went through this every time he moved schools.

Jessica lifted her head out of her hands, looking over at whoever had spoken to her. Her bright blue eyes met the eyes of the boy she had sat down next to. "Tell me about it." She huffed out a small laugh and looked down at her desk. Apparently whoever had been sitting in this desk before liked to carve things. She cleared her throat, tucking a lock of blond hair behind her ear before looking back at the boy. "So...this class actually worth taking?"

Deano looked back at the teacher before looking back at the girl. "No not really" he said admittingly and grinned at her. It was another class that Jasper wanted Deano to take."But I guess it doesnt help when you dont actually get here when the bell goes for the start of class" he had been in here shoes, not literally, many of times. "It gets easier if that helps"

"Thats reassuring." Jessica laughed a little, glancing quickly at the clock on the other side of the room. The teacher was standing in front of the chalkboard, looking just as ready to get lunch like everyone else in the class seemed to be. She looked back at the guy whose name she still didn't know. "I'm Jessica."

Deano closed up his book. There wasnt much to do now that the bell was going to ring any minute. "Deano" he nodded and then put the stuff into his bag, before turning to look at her. "Well Jessica sounds like a nice name. Do you like it?" he teased at her and then scoffed before looking down. It was always fun to tease the new kid. It felt good for someone else to take over from him.

Jessica raised an eyebrow. She'd been to enough schools and enough small towns to know that people always made fun of the new kid. Always. She guessed it was because everyone else was just so used to it already..."Depends on my mood." She said sarcastically, grabbing her bag from the ground and setting in on the desk. "Do you like the name Deano?" The bell chimed overhead and Jessica stood up, pulling the strap of her bag over her shoulder.

Deano stood up when the bell went and grabbed his bag, putting the strap on his shoulder. "Well Deano is really just something everyone calls me. My name is actually Dean, but then people started adding on the O and thats where the name came from really" he smiled softly at her. "How about I take you to the cafeteria so that you dont get lost this time?"

"Sounds like plan, Deano." She teased, smiling big at him. Jessica walked with him towards the door to the classroom where the rest of the students had already formed a huge mob. She sighed a little, waiting for them to actually get themselves out of the door so she could go eat.

Deano looked down at his watch and then sighed. "You know what. Instead of having lunch here how about I just take you back to mine. There's where Im heading anyway.." he nodded. Deano usually went home for lunch. God he was hoping that Jasper was home because he needed to look at the Charger. It was playing up for some reason. It actually made Deano feel sad. He cleared his throat to look over at Jessica. "What you say? The food is much better than this place. I promise."

Jessica raised her eyebrow again. This wasn't her first time living in Texas, but she didn't remember people being this...friendly. Even though a small part of her expected ulterior motives from this Deano guy, she hated school food. She always would, too. "Sure. Why not." She smiled a little. The mass at the doorway lessened and she managed to squeeze out into the hall.

"Okay" Deano smiled softly and grabbed the car keys from his bag and walked down the hallway with her. "So where did you move from?" he asked and then twirled the keys to the Charger around on his finger. Deano wasnt sure if Jo would be there, but if she was then she would welcome Jessica in but still be very alert of the things she did.

Jessica followed after him, looking at the students around her as they passed by. She was surprised that there were hardly any cowboys here. Texas sure had changed since she was a kid. She looked back over at Deano. "Italy." She stated, nonchalant, and shrugged her shoulders up.

"Awesome" he said and then pushed open the door and walked down the steps and into the parking lot. The Charger, beautiful as ever was just sat there waiting for him. He grinned and then looked over at her before walking across the parking lot to where his baby sat parked. He unlocked the door and then held open the passenger side. "After you miss" Deano smiled at her.

Jessica was expecting a cheap little truck, maybe a dinged up little four-door sedan, but when her eyes fell on the deep purple Dodge Charger, she had to restrain herself from drooling. She wasn't that into cars, but this was a damn nice car. "This...this is yours?" She asked, looking at him shocked. For reasons she could not explain, she had new respect for him. Jessica walked around the passenger door held open for her and slid into the car.
