Her eyes keep locked with his even as he murmurs to her. Teresa was pretty confident that she would definitely tell him if it all got to much for her but she would see just how much she could take first before she decided to admit that it was all too much for her. She was stronger than she seemed, but even the strongest has to admit when they can't do something. Teresa smiled when he laughed at her tease. That was definitely what she wanted to hear right now.
"Oh, please do" she said with a grin before his hand was lifted from her chest. Bucky held his hand out to her and she slides her hand into his and he helps her to her feet. He releases her hand and she looks down at her clothes, they were a bit dishevelled but nothing she couldn't deal with. Plus it wasn't like she was going to be winning any beauty contests.
Teresa put her attention back on him as he started to speak and the raised her eyebrow at the fact that he wanted to start with something easy and for her to try to knock him down. That wasn't easy at all. This guy was one hundred per cent times stronger than her and he wants Teresa to try to knock him down? Hell she wasn't even sure she could do it with her car without damaging something. But if that's what he wanted then she was going to try. "Okay" she said and nodded.
She took a deep breath and then took off running for him. Tackling might be the only thing she could really think of right now and he would probably deflect her but at least she was trying to knock him down.

She runs at him, and Bucky already knows how well this is going to work. She's half his size, both in height and weight, and, unlike Nat who's always been small, she has no formal training. If he wasn't standing stock still, all he'd have to do is take a step to the left. A step to the right. A step backwards. And she'd crash on her face before she ever reached him. He could hold out his hand right now and stop her in her tracks. He could crouch, shove forward with all of his strength, and knock her right out of the ring.
But he doesn't. He stands, completely still, and lets her run straight into his chest. He braces his knees, tightens his calves, and the force of her tackle does little more than give his chest a hard tap. She's practically hugging him in all of her efforts, and Bucky just exhales a slow, steady breath through his nostrils. An uncharacteristic quip lingers on the tip of his tongue, something Bucky, the old Bucky, would have said around a sheepish grin, but Bucky swallows it down. Instead, he lowers his blue eyes to Teresa, still unmoving.
"Gonna have to try harder than that."

Teresa actually expected him to move but he was still there when she hits his chest and she's got her arms around her and for some reason she feels slightly awkward right now, although that doesn't stop the pounding in her chest. Her heart is pounding like there's not tomorrow and if she keeps going like this then there is a very good chance that she won't be there tomorrow. She needed to slow her heart down enough so that it wouldn't burst out of her chest.
She looks up at him when she feels his eyes on her. Brown on blue, blue on brown. Their gazes holding for a moment and then he tells her that she needs to try harder than the tackle. Even she had to agree that the tackle was pretty lame but at the moment that was the only thing she could really think of. But now she had to think of another way to take him down. Well it was any of person she could probably just push them down, not that she has ever done anything like that before. The sad thing is that she has to think about it and he is probably getting frustrated with her and god she was definitely feeling frustrated with herself.
Teresa smiled up at him before hooking her leg around the back of his and tried to take him down but she wasn't sure that it was even going to work but at least she tried, right?

Bucky tries to hide the faint smile lurking on his lips as he lifts his eyes once more, letting her work her mind for her next move. It doesn't take her long to come up with a new idea, and Bucky feels her leg hook around his with purposeful intent. Now she's learning, he thinks, right as she attempts to give a sharp pull. But, rather than Bucky's leg moving a single inch, Teresa slips and falls forward -passed Bucky- and right to the ground. Bucky turns his head to look down at her, his body continuing to remain stock-still.
So much for that, he thinks, rolling his jaw a little.
He turns and squats down beside her, elbows resting on his knees, hands dangling between his thighs. Maybe he should have gotten Nat to stick around for an hour longer. "You have a unique problem." He explains, lifting a hand to push his dark hair out of his face. "You're...what. A hundred-twenty pounds?" He says, looking her over once more before his blue eyes settle back onto hers. "I'm two-forty. Counting the arm." Bucky admits, wiggling his metal fingers a little sarcastically. "Which means you're not going to do shit if you're trying to use strength alone to knock me down."
Bucky shifts his palms to his knees and pushes himself upwards back to his feet. "You're small. Fast. You have to use that to your advantage."

Teresa was cocky, she thought she had had Bucky but then she slipped and fell forward and for the first time in her life she closed her eyes and wished she was anywhere but here right now. She thought she had had him but now she was on the floor with her face to the canvas.
Not one of her prouder moments she had to admit.
What made it was was when he squatted down beside her and she opened her eyes and looked over at him. "Unique problem?" she asked and raised her eyebrow. "I'm a fucking thirteen year old girl who can't walk passed her crush without falling in front of him, not that you're my crush" she waved that bit away before he spoke and she bumped her forehead against the canvas. Teresa groaned under her breath before she fisted her hands and used them to push her up and off the ground. She stood back up properly and didn't both brushing herself off because no doubt she would land on her ass again.
Teresa pushed her hands through the front bit of her hair before hanging her head. Okay, so she wasn't a good fighter, her father had wanted her to use her hands not the other parts of her body. She put her hands on her hips and took a deep breath before letting it out. How the hell he was going to train her was beyond her.

"We're going to keep doing this for the entire session." Bucky tells her, moving to reclaim his spot in the center of the ring. "And you're going to knock me down, one way or another." He turns to face her once more, feet shoulder-width apart, arms hanging down by his sides. His blue eyes watch her as she rises to her feet, and he can tell that she's more than a little discouraged. But he needs to assess her skills as much as she needs to gain them, and she has to start somewhere.
Natalia started with a fist.
He didn't know her then. Didn't know the eight-year old child they brought in from the winter winds. The girl they fed and kept warm for a week, earning her trust, earning her favor. The girl they chained to a bed when that week was done, the girl they forced into a fight with another child no older than she the next day, the girl they let get beaten over and over and over again until she finally learned how to hit back.
Teresa is not that girl.
"Pay attention to the scenario." Bucky continues, his eyes remaining locked on hers. "Tell me what you see."

Teresa was actually glad that they would be doing this the rest of the session because at some point she was going to get the damn thing. It would probably take the whole session but she would get it, she was so determined to do it.
This was the girl who had seen werewolves and vampires fight, surely she should've picked something up from them. Sure their technique was different from Bucky's but she's had to have picked something up from them. She pulled her lip in between her teeth and put her brown eyes on Bucky when he spoke once more.
Teresa looked him over to see if she could pick anything out. "You're standing normally?" She asked and looked up at him. "Before you seemed to be rooted to the spot but now it just looks as if your standing as you normally do?" She wasn't sure if that was right but that's what it seemed like to her. Her eyes locked into his and she put her own hands down to her sides. They were actually relaxed considering that only moments before she had fisted them out of frustration.
Maybe now she would be able to concentrate a hell of a lot more than she had been doing.

"Good." Bucky replies, in a short clipped response. "But you need to look closer. Pay attention to details that'll affect you." His tone is casual and calm, but there's an authoritative edge lingering around his words. He remains still, keeping the variables constant. Keeping her focus narrowed on a single target. "Approximate height, weight, exposed vital areas, whether they're defensive or offensive, number of targets, number of witnesses," Bucky lists off from memory, the words falling free from his mouth automatically. "But most importantly," Bucky pauses for a moment, head inclining slightly to the side. "Are they armed, or not?"
He turns his palms outwards for her to see, fingers spreading wide. His hands are empty.
"So," He continues on, letting his hands fall normally back to his sides. He tips his chin upwards, shoulders rolling back slightly. "Again. Tell me what you see."

Teresa nodded once and then bit down on her lip. "Approximate height is six foot" give or take "Weight two-forty" she then tried to remember all the vital areas to hit but she must've skipped class that day when they were showing people how to keep themselves safe. She hesitated for a moment and looked him over. "I can't remember vitals but I'm going to say groin, torso, face?" she wasn't sure if that was right but she honestly couldn't remember.
"Offensive" she said and watched him. Teresa took a deep breath and continued. "Number of targets, one. No witnesses" she then looked down at his hands before looking back up at him "Just because they don't have a weapon in their hands that doesn't mean they don't have one hidden and not only that the body can be used as a weapon so never assume that they are completely unarmed because if you do that and underestimate them then you're as good as dead"
Teresa wasn't sure if she was getting any of this right but if not then she would do it over and over again until she got it right. Whether it was here or when she was on her own, she was going to go over it in her head to make sure that she got it right because she damn well needed to know this stuff and she knew she wasn't a born fighter, no matter what her father tried to turn her into. She rebelled against it and made damn sure she didn't go down that road but what if she had allowed her father to at least teach her something? No, she wasn't even going to think about that because if Scott had taught her something then it would've been to use a gun and kill monsters.
