Teresa scoffs under her breath when he says that she will get it. Maybe it was down to the fact that she was running on so much failure that she really didn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. If she couldn't get it back then she was going to have to lose something that she loved. Would she still be able to hang out with Barton knowing that he was doing something that she couldn't do anymore?
She was letting her thoughts run away with her and it was only when she saw him stepped forward that she actually snapped out of her thoughts. Of course she was going to still be able to be here with him. Teresa pulled her lip in between her teeth and then grabbed another arrow out of the quiver. Even if she had to practice day and night then she would get back to how she was, it was taking her a lot longer to get there but that's what accidents tend to do.
Teresa took up her stance, and then draws before she feels his hand on her injured shoulder. This his other hand holds onto her elbow and for some odd reason she feels her arm shaking more before he grips it harder. And it's like he's pretty much holding her up. It was a weird feeling especially when the two of them, when around other people, argue like there's no tomorrow. Yet here he was holding onto her and making sure that she keeps her arm straight.
She takes a deep breath before she releases the arrow and it soars with the air and lands on the target. A funny noise comes out, she's pretty sure she's laughing but it might actually be a cry too, before she turns to Barton and grins at him before jumping up and down. It might make her look like an idiot but she didn't care. It was the first time she had hit anything in a while and even if it was with his help.
Teresa turns to him and grins once more before she's patting his chest in a happy way. "That has made me feel good" she admitted before looking back at the target. It might only be in the shoulder area of the target but at least it's on the damn thing.

She hits the target, and Barton can feel her excitement vibrating right through her. Even if she needed his help to steady her, he knows it has to feel damn good to finally hit the damn thing after so long. She's doubted herself every step of the way. Barton doesn't know why he never thought to do this earlier.
He grins back down at her and releases her shoulder and elbow, letting Teresa jump up and down happily. He laughs a little, mostly because this sort of genuine happiness was rare in his business. SHIELD trainees were stiff and curt; the kind of people who think basic training is the real world. Sure, Steve and Sam and the rest of the team laugh and joke constantly, but it's in a bitter, chagrin way. Teresa, on the other hand, doesn't have the same pessimistic world-view. When she's happy, she's really happy. And it makes him happy too.
"Yeah, I bet it did." He smiles, down at her as she pats at his chest.
As soon as the words leave his mouth, a short knock interrupts the short celebration. Barton's brows dart upwards as he turns his head to glance back, Lucky perking up as well.

Teresa couldn't help but look back at the target. She had finally hit the damn thing. Now she felt the need to text Graeme. He definitely would be pleased to know that she had finally hit something. It was then that she remembered her cell was in her jeans pocket upstairs in the bathroom. She could just tell him when she got home.
She moved her eyes over and looked back at Barton when he smiled down at her, it was then that she realised that she was still patting his chest. She huffed out a laugh before dropping her hand away. The last thing that Teresa wanted was for anyone to think that she was actually doing it in a weird way. She was excited that she had just hit the damn target and yeah, no one would actually believe her. If it was one thing about the team was that they definitely liked to joke with them, especially when it came to trying to pair the two of them up. It didn't seem to matter that she had a boyfriend.
Teresa glanced back at the door when she heard someone knock on it before she cleared her throat and looked up at Barton. "Are you going to get that?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. "You probably should get it, it could probably be one of the others." Although Barton hadn't said anything about anyone else turning up. Maybe he didn't know himself? Teresa shrugged up a shoulder before she looked back at the target. She was pretty damn impressive. Even if Barton had been holding her at the time. Well holding her shoulder and elbow she meant.
Just for helping her out, Teresa was pretty sure that she could kiss the guy right now.

Barton tugs his phone from his pocket and taps the screen. More often than not, the team doesn't give him a heads up when they turn up randomly at his apartment, but he could hope. Too often have they turned up when Barton was in more compromising positions, which is nothing anyone wants. His phone, however, is blank of any messages at all. He sighs and slides his phone away, turning away from his spot to head towards the door. Lucky hops down from his perch and trots after him happily, nose twitching. Without a peephole on his door, there's no use being cautious. If someone was coming here to kill him anyway, they probably wouldn't knock. He grabs the knob and tugs the door open wide.
"Hey, you busy?" She asks, a little breathless.
Barton stares at her, wide-eyed.
Shit.
"Uh."
"I thought I'd run this over to you during my lunch." Her head is bowed, strands of jet black hair falling around a heart-shaped face. Her black jacket is damp, but an umbrella hangs from her wrist as she digs through a leather shoulder-bag for a manila folder. Lucky sniffs at her red Louboutine heels. She smiles down at him.

Teresa lets him move off towards the door while she inspects the target that she had hit. She bit down on her lip and turned her head towards the side and could just about hear voices at the door. "Hey, Clint.." she says and then turns to see that there is a woman at the door. She raises her eyebrow at the fact that Barton has a woman standing at his door.
Well this was interesting indeed.
Teresa can't help but let a smile pull at her lips as she clears her throat. She moves away from the targets before coming towards the kitchen island and glancing in the direction of the door. "Let the poor girl in Francis, it's bloody raining out there" she said and then put the bow down on the island top before she grabbed her mug and took a swig of the black stuff.
Now she had to find out what this was about. If it was SHIELD stuff then she really was interested. While she knew Barton disliked SHIELD, she couldn't help but deny the fact that they had some pretty cool stuff, especially that blue box that transported her back to the '40s so that she could re-meet Steve. Teresa wondered what had happened to the thing in the end? Whatever happened to it, she had never been back to HQ. Maybe they knew that she had disappeared, even if it had only been for five minutes, according to the blonde haired dummy that was still standing at the door as if he was frozen on the spot.
What the hell was going on with the guy?

She looks up curiously when Teresa speaks, her manicured brows pressing a little close. This is bad. Not because Barton has done anything wrong, which he hasn't despite the panic surging through his brain, but because these two have never, ever, been in the same room together.
And he hasn't even told one of them that the other exists.
"Um," She says, brushing a lock of dark hair out of her face. "Do you...want me to come back?"
"No." Barton blurts out, the first time he's been able to speak in what feels like half an hour. She arches a brow at him. "No, uh. Hi." Barton smiles at her, leaning down to give her a soft kiss on the forehead. "Wasn't expecting you. Come in." He waves his hand into the apartment, quickly glancing towards Teresa like he's just been caught in a dirty secret. She smiles at him, a little confused, but laughs softly and steps into the apartment.
"Hi." She smiles a little shyly towards Teresa, lifting a hand to give her a small wave.
"Uh." Barton swallows, closing the door softly. "Layla, this is Teresa. The uh, archer I was telling you about." He introduces, scratching awkwardly behind his ear. Layla tips her chin upwards and smiles a little more. "T...this is...Layla. My...friend...girl." He rolls his eyes at himself, suddenly thinking about throwing himself out of a window. He swipes a hand over his face, and swears a little under his breath.

Teresa takes another sip of her coffee and waves slightly. "Hi," she says after finishing up her drink. She moves around the island to grab herself another drink. So, the woman's name was Layla and apparently Barton had been telling her about Teresa. She didn't know whether to be flattered or very scared right now.
She was just pouring the coffee into her mug when she heard what Barton had said. Teresa nearly dropped both the mug and the coffee pot. She brought her brown eyes up to Barton and then raised her eyebrow. "Say, what?" she said and then looked between the both of them. Barton had a girlfriend? He had a girlfriend.
"A girlfriend, right" Teresa muttered under her breath before clearing her throat and finishing up the drink before putting the coffee pot back on the side. She then took a sip of the black stuff before she then looked back over at Barton and Layla. What kind of a name was that anyway?
Teresa then realised that she was starting to sound like Delilah. Holy shit, that was one person she never wanted to take after. "It's nice to meet you" she said after a while before she nodded and moved away from the island and back over to the targets. She couldn't believe that he had a girlfriend. Although it wasn't anything to do with her. He was free to do what he wanted, it's not like they dated or anything. She was happy in a relationship with Graeme and this was Barton for Christ sake.

"You weren't kidding when you said your friends would be surprised." Layla comments, leaning in a little to the side so her arm presses right into his. Barton snorts a little at her tease, and she smiles a little deviously up at him, and the panic eases a little around the edges. Layla is making this surprisingly easy, considering the situation. Teresa is wearing his clothes, drinking his coffee, and looking damn surprised that he has a girlfriend. If any other girl showed up at his door, they would have slapped him by now.
"Wait until you meet Sam." Barton replies through the corner of his mouth, huffing out a breath. She giggles a little, her small nose scrunching up.
"Sorry," She says, shaking her head and looking back to Teresa. "It's nice to meet you too." She says, looking a little more relaxed to. "I didn't mean to interrupt, so..." She turns back to Barton and digs through her bag once more, tugging free the manila folder. "Thought you'd want a copy. For laughs." She shrugs a shoulder a little. Barton takes it from her and flips it open, scanning over the data collected about him without really reading it.
"Anything nice?"
"Depends on your definition of nice. It's mostly math. I did comment on your outfit though." Layla replies, flipping a page in the folder as he holds it, tapping a particular comment at the bottom.
"Right. You want a drink?" He asks, clearing his throat upon remembering that Teresa is, in fact, still in the room.
"I really don't want to intrude." Layla says, looking between the two of them.

Teresa looks around for somewhere to put the coffee mug and in her haste to get away from Barton and his girlfriend, ugh, she had completely forgotten that there was, infact, no where to put her coffee. She then huffed out a breath before she then moved back to the island.
It seemed as if she was in this sort of fog that no one could get through. Her head was spinning and she was sure that she would pass out. Teresa cleared her throat and then shook her head to get rid of Barton's voice saying that Layla was his girlfriend. She honestly didn't know why she was acting this way. This was Barton and he could date whoever he damn well liked.
She grabbed the bow once more and then moved back to where she had been standing when she had shot the target. Well if she didn't want to intrude then she could just go away.
The worse thing was that she seemed really nice and this was how Teresa was treating her. It was the same way her father was treating Graeme, although that was with a bit more hate. Teresa didn't know Layla to hate her and at that thought she glanced in their direction before sighing under her breath, "You can stay if you want" she said and then reached back and grabbed another arrow. Might aswell give it a try on her own.
She notched the arrow before pulling the string back. The shaking was back in her arm, so really she was back to square one. Teresa felt like screaming, but instead she just tried to go what Barton had told her and tried focusing, which was a lot harder than she thought it would be.

"No, it's okay, I have to get back to the tower." Layla says while checking her watch. "My lunch break ended about ten minutes ago." She laughs a little, shaking her wrist out as she lowers her hand to her side.
"Oh, okay." Barton replies with a small nod. He doesn't want to kick her out, not really, but he can also feel the tension like a vice clasping right around his neck. He doesn't really understand why. Layla is a good person, a great person, and Barton is starting to get head over heels for her, but this is the most uncomfortable he's ever been in his life. It doesn't help that Teresa has suddenly turned icy, making him feel even more jittery.
He didn't even this uncomfortable when Nat met Layla, and Nat has always been critical of everyone.
"See you later?" Layla asks, clasping onto her umbrella.
"'Course." Barton replies in a murmur, and leans down to give her a kiss. It's quick, and he doesn't mean it that way, but Layla doesn't say anything about it.
"Bye." She says instead, waving a little towards Teresa before walking back to the door. Barton holds it open for her, gives her another smile and another quick kiss, and then closes it quickly. He presses his whole back against the door, feeling a weight lift off of his shoulders.

Teresa looks over her shoulder once more and actually feels glad that Layla isn't staying. God, she was never this bad when it came to being in Mystic and Stiles had introduced her to his friends. Although she was pretty sure that if she was ever rude to them then they would bite her. Damn werewolves and vampires man. Although she really did dislike Colton and it made her want to hit him over the head with something hard.
She never did. They sort of tolerated each other until everyone went their own way.
Teresa holds up her hand in a wave before she hears the door closing. She bites on her lip before turning around and aiming the arrow at Barton. She moves it to the right a little bit before she actually lets it go and watches as the arrow lands in the door on Barton's right hand side and she huffs out. "Well at least it hit something" she said and shrugged before then looking at him. "You have a girlfriend?" she said and then raised her eyebrow at him.
Why she was acting like this, she really didn't know. Barton had a right to have a girlfriend, it was his life. She liked Bobbi. A hell of a lot actually. It didn't bother her that she was Barton's ex wife. She was nice enough but Layla. God, this was the worst way she could actually act.
It was like Barton had betrayed her. As if she had caught him cheating. This was not the way she ever wanted to act. With Graeme it was easy, sure people flirted with him but they knew that he wasn't interested but with Barton, it was strange because of the fact that they were friends. He helped her to get an arrow in the damn target and this is the way that she acts?
Teresa needed to have her head examined.

Barton barely has a chance to even glance in Teresa's direction before an arrow shoots through the air straight at him. "Jesus-" He yelps, startled, as the arrow lodges right into the door beside his skull. He turns his head slowly to look at it, blue eyes wide open in their sockets, mouth hanging open a little. "What- Why-" He stammers out, looking back at Teresa who doesn't look all that fazed by what she had just done. "My girlfriend?" He juts his chin forward, realizing that his voice has gotten suddenly loud. "You...try to shoot me because I have a girlfriend?"
Lucky whines a little, sounding more annoyed than upset, and lets his head fall onto his paws.
Barton slides away from the arrow like he's still afraid it's going to hit him, and moves quickly towards the kitchen to get away from it. He shakes out his shoulders a little, not liking the feeling of nearly getting skewered by T. He'd be impressed with her aim if he hadn't been the target.

"What? No" she said sarcastically. "Would I do that?" she then crossed her arms over her chest before raising her eyebrow. Teresa was a terrible liar but she had to admit that she had a pretty good aim, it wasn't like she was aiming for Barton. Just at the door. It wasn't Teresa's fault if he happened to be standing there at the time.
At least this time she didn't have a shaking shoulder. So that was a win for her. Maybe today really had been a learning curve after all. Barton had a girlfriend and Teresa learned how to shoot a front door. Win all around she would say.
Teresa then turned back to the targets before clearing her throat. She really didn't like the fact that she had an ugly case of the green eyed monster. It was bad enough that Lexi and Sam teased her about Barton and how they would be perfect if they would just give in and get it on but to actually act this way when she finds out that he has a girlfriend.
She walks over to the island and grabs her coffee mug and taking a huge gulp of it. The coffee is hot but she doesn't care, only hope that it would actually care her thoughts. Get her head on the right track because this wasn't how Teresa would normally act when she was faced with this sort of news. She would smile and wish them happiness, maybe that's what she should've said rather than shooting the door, but she had a killer aim.

Barton drops his shoulders in exasperation following her sarcastic denial of clearly shooting at him, a less than amused expression donning his face. They've gotten mad at each other before, sure. Barton doesn't think there's a single friend of his who hasn't gotten mad at him. But very rarely - and he only says rarely because Nat is always an exception to the rule - does someone try to stick him through like a pig.
Especially over a girlfriend.
Risking the chance of sounding like a douche-bag, Barton is well aware that he doesn't have most of the same stories other guys have when it comes to girls. He sleeps around sometimes, gets married in Vegas and then divorced in California, and has definitely dated some girls he shouldn't have, but that's about the extent of his otherwise wild affairs. He's never stolen another guy's girl, since cheating has always been a no on his list of things to do, and has never actually been chased out of a house with a bat and a cracked skull unless it counts if the mobsters are there to kill him regardless of the girl. And even if he was stupid enough to get into a situation he wasn't fully aware of, Nat or Bobbi or any one of the number of women he's kept as friends over the years would do the beating themselves.
This...doesn't exactly fit that category. He doesn't know what the hell this even is.
"Are you nuts?" He barks out, half tempted to take the bow from her. "Since when does me having a girlfriend turn you into a vengeful Amazon warrior?"

Teresa glared at him before then shaking her head. In honesty she didn't even know why she was acting like this. She should be happy about the fact that he had finally found someone and that the jokes of them would actually stop.
"The jury is out on that one" she muttered when he asked if she was nuts. There had been times, back in Mystic, when she had been tempted to actually yell at her friends. To ask them if they were insane. But now she was being asked the very thing she would've asked them.
In honesty she was actually starting to wonder if she was actually insane. Never had she even thought of doing this to Barton before, even when he had made her so mad, but now that she knew he had a girlfriend it felt like she was being turned into a demon, the very thing that Lexi's family used to hunt.
"Just leave it" she said and shook her head once more and turned her back on him. Now really wasn't the time to actually talk about this. Teresa would apologise when her head was a bit more on her shoulders but that didn't seem to be the case right now. She pulled her lip in between her teeth before she put the bow down, afraid that if she gripped it any tighter then she would actually snap it in half.
How the hell had she turned like that so quickly?
